Here in Baja Sur they are announcing now that we are at 85% vaccination for locals above age 18. I don't think it could get better than that, except perhaps when they approve it for younger kids. I was amazed at how the young adults lined up for their shots without whining.

Case numbers are now falling. The recent elections set off a wave of new infections among the locals, and allowing tourists to come freely also added to that.

There is little will to turn off the flow of tourist dollars.

So we mask, hand wash, sterilize sterilize sterilize.

Most locals here wear the masks, no problems. And there is no mask mocking! We are blessed.

And NONE of this resonates to the MAGA heads! They more than likely refuse to believe that it’s Covid that put him on the ventilator, it’s some other underlying health condition. Idiots!
    I only wish him well…..

I just found out one of my former co-workers passed away from Covid19 But his family refuses to believe that it was covid and are blaming it on everything else from what I was told. I know they are / were big Fox News fans. ................ Enough said I guess.

I have heard that the trick to getting them to take it is calling it the "Trump vaccine."

Is that fucking stupid or what???

    @Eric!

I think it's important to note these people were anti-vaxers long before the emergence of the coronavirus.

Some of these people genuinely believe there are tiny computer chips embedded within the vaccine to monitor and control their
thoughts - you can't change stupid, you can't fix crazy, and you sure can't change decades of thinking in one day.

Maybe, just maybe, if they are told to wear foil hats when they get the shots. That it will deactivate the "micro chips". And they won't have to worry about it.

Might as well. As nobody has done more to enable the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and to thwart the government's response, they can call it the "Trump Vaccine" as long as we get to call it the "Trump Virus".

U.S. CDC internal report says Delta variant as contagious as chickenpox - report
‘The war has changed’: CDC paper warns Delta variant is far more transmissible

New research shows the vaccinated people infected with the Delta variant carried tremendous amounts of the virus in the nose and throat. Vaccinated people who become infected with the Delta variant can shed just as much of the virus as unvaccinated people. The Delta variant is more transmissible than the SARS-CoV-2 ancestral strain as well as the viruses that cause MERS, SARS, Ebola, the common cold, the seasonal flu and smallpox. The Delta variant is as transmissible as chickenpox, with an infected person infecting eight or nine others on average. The original strain was more comparable to the common cold, with an infected person spreading the virus to two others.“I think people need to understand that we’re not crying wolf here. This is serious. It’s one of the most transmissible viruses we know about."
The CDC report said that universal mask wearing is still needed to reduce transmission in addition to vaccines.

“I think the biggest thing we got wrong was not anticipating that 30% of the country would choose not to be vaccinated.”

I did what the CDC, scientists, etc. (you know--the people who actually know about this) said I should do. I did my part.
At this point I don't feel pity for anyone who has chosen to be ignorant in being adamantly antivax and succumbed to COVID 19. In fact I resent them for keeping the cycle going. It's entirely possible we could be done with this shit already if only everyone did their part rather than pushing their counterproductive, paranoid agenda.

Life is far more complex than most people realise and their is no 'one size fits all' situation.

You seem to have been unlucky with covid, since natural immunity should have considerably lessened the affects of subsequent attacks.
In your last case, I have little doubt that your immune system dealing with the pathogenic bacteria in your ear was a factor. Hopefully your doctor had not prescribed antibiotics that would have reduced their effect if you had needed them to combat the respiratory bacterial second stage affects of the covid.

Good physical and mental health is always good, but it does not guarantee a healthy immune system.
This is where the principal doubts about it's weakening by OVER USE of vaccinations comes in. Needless to say, it is hard to find 2 doctor who agree on the balance.

Vitamin and mineral supplements can help in immune development, but it is vital not to overdose and leave your kidneys to get rid of surpluses that enter the blood stream. Fortunately the digestive system mostly dumps the surplus.
Potassium is a very dangerous substance and a surplus blood level can result in flat line cardiac arrest that no amount of resuscitation will correct. I am sure that you have heard of Dr Shipman.

Good luck with your vaccination thread and how they work in harmony with natural immunity. It will certainly produce more questions than answers.

Now some people who get the vaccine are doing it in secret, sneaking out to the vaccine center, and in some cases even donning disguises, because they're afraid of the backlash from the many anti-vaxxers in their area. Missouri in particular reports a lot of such cases, but it's prevalent in other red states and rural areas. Bad enough there are so many people who refuse to be innoculated, but they also have the nerve to condemn those who do get the shots.

As bad as the Delta Variant is, it could mutate into something worse, and as long as people remain unvaccinated it will spread and potentially turn into a more dangerous variant.

Here lies the problem, since if it does mutate further, rather than our natural immunity adjusting, we could end up waiting another year for a vaccination to play catch up.

Historically, we have used vaccines to combat fully mutated diseases. Using them against a new to humans and mutating virus is a whole new ball game.
Some people believe that China's attempts to produce a vaccine went belly up, causing the pandemic. We all assume that 19 was the first mutation from animals, possibly bats, but doubts are growing. It is possible that some of the variants predate 19 but proving it will be impossible.
I personally think that the first mutations arrived around 2017. At the time, an unknown virus was entering the blood, causing scarring of the heart walls and muscles, along with scarring the retina and eustachian tube. Due to the different disciplines in medicine, these events were never really connected to each other.

Up to now, virology has remained a very academic subject, but things may change.
I understand many of the questions, but sadly I don't know the answers.
Possibly they could be a backlash from creating flue vaccinations in the first place. Declaring war on nature is a very risky business.
