At 98, Bob Dole reckons with legacy of Trump, ponders future of GOP

    excerpt:

"He was one of the few elders of the traditional Republican establishment to endorse Donald Trump in 2016 and the only former presidential nominee to attend the convention that nominated Trump. In a split with the 45th president, Dole said there's no question that Trump lost his reelection race in 2020 – narrowly perhaps but fair and square.

"He lost the election, and I regret that he did, but they did," Dole said. "He had Rudy Giuliani running all over the country, claiming fraud. He never had one bit of fraud in all those lawsuits he filed and statements he made."

"I'm a Trumper," Dole said at one point during the conversation. But he added at another, "I'm sort of Trumped out, though."

In his day, Dole was known for a quick wit and a sharp partisanship, defending President Richard Nixon during the Watergate scandal and controversially citing "Democrat wars" during the vice presidential debate in 1976. His tone is mellower now, and the proudest achievements he cites are those he won in partnerships with Democrats."

So here’s the thing. Trump says the votes Biden got are from dead people.
What I want to know is how trump received 11 million more votes this time than in 2016.
I’ve been checking obituaries of dead republicans. Something ain’t right.

    McKellop is one example.

    Another example is Morss.

Both used their U.S. military experience against the U.S. government.

Judge says former Army Ranger used his training in Capitol riot

    excerpt:

"A federal judge on Tuesday said a former Army Ranger who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 used his training or experience to organize the other rioters, which made their actions “more effective, more forceful and more violent.”

CNN reported that Robert Morss, an alleged Capitol rioter who is facing nine charges in connection to the attack, was ordered to remain in jail before his trial after a federal judge ruled that he was too dangerous to be released.

The Justice Department released new video of Morss this week, which showed him taking a lead in coordinating the rioters during the attack, according to CNN.

Magistrate Judge Michael Harvey said Morss was “willing to use his training or experience to organize with the rioters on January 6 ... thereby making their actions more effective, more forceful and more violent,” according to CNN.

He continued, contending that the rioters “appeared disorganized” until Morss, who was “in his element” because of his background as an Army Ranger, began giving instructions.

Morss reportedly served in the Army from 2011 and 2015, when he was deployed to Afghanistan three times. When he retired from the military, he was a specialist."

Judge forces US Capitol rioter to unlock laptop seized by FBI :: WRAL.com

    excerpt:

"CNN — A federal judge forced a US Capitol rioter to unlock his laptop Wednesday after prosecutors argued that it likely contained footage of the January 6 insurrection from his helmet-worn camera.

The judge granted the Justice Department's request to place Capitol riot defendant Guy Reffitt in front of his laptop so they could use facial recognition to unlock the device. The maneuver happened after the hearing ended and Reffitt's lawyer confirmed to CNN that the laptop was unlocked.

Investigators seized the laptop and other devices earlier this year pursuant to a search warrant.

Reffitt has been in jail since his arrest in January. His case received national attention after his son spoke publicly about how Reffitt had threatened to kill family members if they turned him into the FBI. The case became an example of how former President Donald Trump's lies tore some families apart -- Reffitt's son and daughter testified against him in court or before the grand jury."

I just saw an article which told THE FBI gave the top relevant leads of information on Kavanaugh's background to White House lawyers to check out. So, it sounds like Trump got to investigate Kavanaugh ... after appointing him. The fox gave himself the job of chicken inspector.

Latest Man Arrested In Capitol Riot Accused Of Attacking Police With Rod | HuffPost

    excerpt:

"A northern Mississippi man has been arrested after allegedly attacking police officers with a metal rod during the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Michael Leon Brock, 54, of Walls, just south of Memphis, Tennessee, was arrested Tuesday after video appeared to capture him repeatedly pushing and striking officers with an estimated 4-foot rod as Trump supporters violently descended upon the Capitol during the certification of Electoral College votes.

“Oh, my God, he got him good! He got the cop good,” a spectator is heard saying, pointing out the man in the olive green hoodie, whom prosecutors identified as Brock in charging documents. Additional photos of the man shared by the FBI and collected by online sleuths known as the “sedition hunters” show the words “God, Guns and Trump” on the hoodie.

Brock was charged with federal offenses including assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers, and obstruction of law enforcement."
