Trump suggests Biden is trying to stop 2020 audit: ‘They know it was not an honest election’ excerpt: "“Philadelphia was a cesspool of corruption, which will soon be revealed by the audit. Why are they so concerned that a President, who never goes anywhere, would hop onto beautiful Air Force One and head to Philadelphia if it were an honest election?” the former president asked in the email. “Why not let the audit go forward and make everybody, on both sides, happy?” Trump, who has repeatedly claimed the 2020 election was full of fraud, said Democrats such as Biden know “it was not an honest result.” The audit should also be free of federal influence, he suggested."
Audit or Fraudit? Trump supporters bank on Arizona excerpt: "Yet the audit has become a regular stop on the campaign trail of Republicans trying to align themselves with Mr Trump and his supporters. Delegates from more than 12 battleground states have visited the audit site in the last few weeks and many have called for something similar to be replicated in their states. It's put Republicans in a tricky position. Arguably, Donald Trump remains the most popular Republican in the United States - rejecting his conspiracies and claims of voter fraud risks losing the votes of his most ardent supporters." image:
Audit or Fraudit? Trump supporters bank on Arizona excerpt: "But that's only about 30% of the Republican party and no matter how engaged they are, elections can't be won with such a slim fraction of votes. "The whole effort is drawing the Republican Party into this minority party that's never going to be in a position to win significant elections," said Mr Gates. The Maricopa supervisor wants his party to get back to Reagan-style, traditional, small government values. "We need to win on ideas, not on insults.""
Audit or Fraudit? Trump supporters bank on Arizona excerpt: "Stephen Richer, the Maricopa County Recorder, agreed. He is "100 percent confident" that the election results in Arizona were accurate, he said, and feared this audit will discourage voters from turning up at future elections. "I just don't see how it's a logical campaign approach to go around telling people that the system's rigged, their vote doesn't matter, but please vote for us in 2022," Mr Richer said. "That seems silly.""
Trump damaged the confidence of his voters for the U.S. Senate runoff election in GA in January 2021. Some of Trump's supporters even said that they would not participate in the election. The GOP lost both seats which turned control of the Senate back to the Democrats.
Stacey Abrams ran an intense voter registration drive in GA which helped Democrats with both Senate runoff elections. Trump falsely accused her of ballot harvesting. Abrams simply outdid Trump and his following, while Trump made baseless allegations of rigged elections which damaged the confidence of GOP voters ahead of the runoff elections.
Some of the GOP controlled state legislatures are trying to limit the amount of time available for voter registration for runoff elections. It would hinder the success of voter registration drives ahead of runoff elections like the one conducted by Stacey Abrams.
No, no, no, no. That can't be right. Get back in there and count those votes better. Shit, if anyone's gonna put a bug in the the voter software, it's the Cyber Ninjas for Pete's sake. I pray for lightning on the Mira Largo #1 tee. No sense in letting him get to the green, is there?
Or don't drink enough. Just think, Walmart is the nation's largest employer, over 90% of their employees are not covered by Walmart health benefits. You and I pay for health care for them. In over 20 years, I hit my health plan deductible once.....maybe twice.
Trump denies coup attempt in latest attack on Milley excerpt: "“Sorry to inform you, but an Election is my form of ‘coup,’” Trump said, “and if I was going to do a coup, one of the last people I would want to do it with is General Mark Milley.” The statement from the former president came after excerpts published this week of a forthcoming book by Washington Post reporters Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker stated that Milley had compared Trump’s false claims about the 2020 election to “the gospel of the Führer.” According to Leonnig and Rucker’s reporting, Milley described Trump’s persistent efforts to reverse the results of the White House race as “a Reichstag moment” — referring to the 1933 attack on Germany’s parliament building that Adolf Hitler used as a pretext to cement Nazi rule. The book also states that Milley was so alarmed by Trump’s bid to overturn the election that he and other military leaders began informally planning how they would block the then-president from using America’s armed forces in a way that could help him hold onto power."
The quicker the fat bastard disappears, the better off we'll all be. Even his lovers will fare better, although they are not astute enough to realize it.
Well--don't forget--he knows more than the generals. And the doctors. And the scientists, and the IRS, and pretty much everyone else on any and every subject. Just ask him. And many people are saying.
Trump implies that his coup is winning an election. His coup attempt is the act of illegally trying to overturn a legitimate election that he lost but that he mistakenly thinks he won It is what concerned members of his staff, like Milley. Trump tried coercion tactics on officials in GA (Raffensperger), AZ (Ducey), and MI (Shirkey and Chatfield). He came up empty with his election recounts and lawsuits. His insurrection at the Capitol was the culmination of his efforts to thwart the election result. He also failed at the attempt by GOP members of Congress to reduce Biden's electoral tally to below 270 on January 6, a Constitutional state-by-state process that was interrupted by Trump's riot. The riot diminished Trump's hope for that process because a member of Congress changed stance and chose not to try to refute the election result after being shocked by what happened during the riot. Trump short-circuited his own attempt.
This is one of the aspects of the day of the riot that is so outrageous. Giuliani was on the phone trying to reach people like the newly elected U.S. senator and former football coach from Alabama, Tommy Tuberville, to see how the GOP was doing in the Constitutional process that was being used to try to erase electoral votes from Biden. The members of Congress were in the basement trying to protect their lives during Trump's insurrection. Even more outlandish is that people like Giuliani can't dial a phone correctly and end up reaching the wrong person during a riot. Tuberville said he would use his U.S. Senate office to raise campaign money for himself, which is illegal. A group of crackpots, the likes of which has never been seen before.
Mike Pence refused to leave the Capitol during the January 6 riot despite Secret Service agents urging him to evacuate, saying, 'I'm not getting in the car': book excerpt: "Congressional leaders Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell also wanted to stand their ground against the the rioters and complete the election certification, the book says. The top Democrat and Republican as well as fellow leaders Chuck Schumer and Kevin McCarthy were transported from the Capitol to Fort McNair, an Army post in Southwest Washington, during the chaos, per the book. "We're going back to the Capitol," Pelosi reportedly said on the call. "You just tell us how long it will take to get rid of these people." "I want it cleared out now. The Senate needs to get its business done," McConnell also said, according to the book. Congress reconvened and Pence returned to the chamber at 8:06 p.m., the authors wrote. They certified President Joe Biden's 2020 victory at 3:24 a.m. on January 7. Trump did not personally check in on Pence at any point during the riot, the book reported."
