Haven't been able to find an estimate of the size of the crowd at Trump's Ohio rally yesterday, just that it was in the thousands. Some are saying it wasn't that big for a Trump rally held on the weekend. We'll see if he picks up steam or runs out of it.

I count about 2500 brain cells...

I can't say how that correlates to the number of people though. Brain cells are not evenly doled out, as you know.

    A Trump-minded person.

Covid denier protests outside pub marquee after mistaking it for testing site

    excerpt:

"A woman has been widely mocked for protesting outside what she thought was a Covid testing centre when it was, in fact, a pub marquee.

The coronavirus-denier filmed herself ranting outside the white tent, condemning what she called the “scamdemic”.

In the clip, she can be heard confronting a member of staff at the Queen of Hearts in Cheshire, asking: “Are you not ashamed of yourself putting swabs up children’s noses? We’ve heard them crying and screaming from across the carpark.”

She then went on to reiterate that he should be “absolutely ashamed of himself, stood round the corner, smoking, with [his] mask off,” adding: “You’re not afraid of this fake scamdemic.”"

Donald Trump's Big Lie about 2020 results suffers legal and political blows in key swing states - CNNPolitics

    excerpt:

"It was a bad week for the Big Lie -- former President Donald Trump and his allies' false claims that widespread fraud is to blame for his 2020 election loss.

In one battleground state, Republican senators issued a report that eviscerated Trump's lies about voter fraud. In another, a judge undercut Trump's supporters' hopes to examine nearly 150,000 mail-in ballots. And one of Trump's closest allies, Rudy Giuliani, was suspended from practicing law in New York.

Trump and his conspiracy-minded supporters have eagerly been anticipating the conclusion of the problem-plagued audit of Maricopa County's results in Arizona, but regardless of its final report, it will have no impact on the 2020 election results, as the election was already certified. Trump repeated his election lies at a rally in Ohio Saturday night, but last week's blows underscored the reality that their options to continue contesting the 2020 election are narrowing.

In Michigan, the Republican-led state Senate Oversight Committee said in a report released Wednesday that there was "no evidence of widespread or systematic fraud" in the state's 2020 election. The report included a stinging condemnation of the lies about voter fraud pushed by Trump and his supporters.

"Our clear finding is that citizens should be confident the results represent the true results of the ballots cast by the people of Michigan," the committee, chaired by Republican state Sen. Ed McBroom, said in its report. "The Committee strongly recommends citizens use a critical eye and ear toward those who have pushed demonstrably false theories for their own personal gain.""

Ted Nugent just doesn't draw the crowds like he used to, unless they serve cheap beer.

Trump Organization attorneys given Monday deadline to persuade prosecutors not to file charges against it
By Shayna Jacobs, Josh Dawsey and David A. Fahrenthold
    June 27, 2021 at 9:44 p.m. UTC

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...44a822-d5e0-11eb-9f29-e9e6c9e843c6_story.html

    excerpt:

"Prosecutors in New York have given former president Donald Trump’s attorneys a deadline of Monday afternoon to make any final arguments as to why the Trump Organization should not face criminal charges over its financial dealings, according to two people familiar with the matter.

That deadline is a strong signal that Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. (D) and New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) — now working together, after each has spent more than two years investigating Trump’s business — are considering criminal charges against the company as an entity.

Earlier this year, Vance convened a grand jury in Manhattan to consider indictments in the investigation. No entity or individual has been charged in the investigations thus far, and it remains possible that no charges will be filed.

Prosecutors have shown interest in whether Trump’s company used misleading valuations of its properties to deceive lenders and taxing authorities, and in whether taxes were paid on fringe benefits for company executives, according to court documents and people familiar with the investigations.

The two people familiar with the deadline set for Trump’s attorneys spoke on the condition of anonymity to disclose private conversations. Under New York law, prosecutors may file charges against corporations in addition to individuals."

In Arizona, GOP Lawmakers Strip Power From a Democrat

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON — The Republican-controlled state Legislature in Arizona voted Thursday to revoke the Democratic secretary of state’s legal authority in election-related lawsuits, handing that power instead to the Republican attorney general.

The move added more discord to the politics of a state already roiled by the widely derided move by Senate Republicans to commission a private firm to recount the vote six months after the November election. And it was the latest in a long series of moves in recent years by Republicans to strip elected Democrats of money and power in states under GOP control.

The measure was part of a grab bag of proposals inserted into major budget legislation, including several actions that appeared to address conspiracy theories alleging manipulated elections that some Republicans lawmakers have promoted. One of the items allotted $500,000 for a study of whether social media sites tried to interfere in state elections by promoting Democrats or censoring Republicans."

    Moreover...

In Arizona, GOP Lawmakers Strip Power From a Democrat

    excerpt:

"The bill approved Thursday gives Brnovich’s office exclusive control of such lawsuits, but only through Jan. 2, 2023 — when the winners of the next elections for both offices would be about to take power. The aim is to ensure that the authority given to Brnovich would not transfer to any Democrat who won the next race for attorney general.

On Friday, Hobbs called the move “egregious,” saying Republicans were “weaponizing the process to take retribution against my office.”

Arizona election audit could lead to executions, if OAN gets its way

    excerpt:

"The Daily Beast reports a One America News Network host is calling for the execution of potentially thousands of Americans who he claims were involved in stealing the election in Arizona and elsewhere.

OAN is the far-right media outlet that is working as the official broadcast sponsor of the Arizona Senate’s audit.
Traitors should be executed, OAN personality says

It’s bad enough that Senate President Karen Fann’s “unbiased, independent” auditors have teamed up with a fringe media outlet that has led the charge in peddling conspiracy theories, one whose reporter, Christina Bobb, is a former Trump administration official who is now raising money to help fund the audit.

Now Arizona’s audit partner is telling us that “radical Democrats left fingerprints all over the country, providing a trail of evidence that the 2020 election was not only tampered with, but was actually overthrown.”

The host goes on to suggest potentially thousands of people should be executed once the evidence of their “coup” is unearthed in Arizona and in other audits that will follow."

GOP-drafted contracts cover probe into potential Wisconsin vote 'illegalities'

    excerpt:

"The terms of the contracts are identical. Sandvick and Page have been hired for June, July and August and are to be paid $3,200 a month by taxpayers.

They are tasked with following leads and allegations submitted to the Assembly elections committee, raised in the media, provided to members of the Legislature or generated during the course of the probe. The final report is to be submitted to Vos.

The contract does not discuss gaining access to the actual ballots, as was done in the Arizona audit. Vos said this week that it’s “unlikely” that would happen in Wisconsin because of the Legislative Audit Bureau review that’s underway and audits of ballots already conducted per state law.

Democrats have been highly critical of the effort, which they say is meant to perpetrate the discredited lie that Trump won the 2020 election. Vos has defended it as a way to address concerns raised that have undermined confidence in the election process.

Assembly Minority Leader Gordon Hintz, D-Oshkosh, called the investigation a “witch hunt.”"
