THE REPUBLICAN PARTY have a policy????? Why yes - they do.

Keep giving H-U-G-E tax breaks to the richest Americans, then turn around and complain that we need to do something about the deficit. (lately some hub-de-bub-Repub suggested putting "user fees" on consumer goods and services ...............AGAIN !!!!!! ( Anyone remember good ol' daddy George H.W. Bush trying to pull that stunt on the American people when HE was president????? "User fees" he said - not taxes. But George Mitchell, the Democratic Senator from Maine called out George H.W. Bush and clarified it for the American people, saying "If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck ........... it's a DUCK."
"User fees" are money out of people's pockets, whether you call it a "user fee" or a tax. ) Once again - tax breaks for the rich, and slap new taxes on the avg. American under the friendlier-sounding " user fees" name so they end up paying the tab for the richest folks.

They oppose ANY worker's rights. They ALWAYS oppose ANY raising of the minimum wage, so people have NO CHANCE to get out of poverty, despite working full-time. They cow to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (the most powerful union in the country - hell-bent on keeping any unions out of the workforce) who want ALL unions destroyed so employers can totally control ALL WORKERS like back in the days of Carnegie, Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, J.P. Morgan, and those types of robber-barons. They don't want workers to have ANY VOICE or POLITICAL POWER AT ALL.

Then gerrymander voting districts so hub-de-bub Repubs can't lose. They pick their voters ........ instead of the voters being able to choose who THEY want to win an election. When any political side eliminates / suppresses - or tries to eliminate - all election competition, by one means or another, so only one side can win ........... that's called FASCISM. Just like they had in Hitler's Nazi Germany, Mussolini's Italy, and similar to Putin's Russia, Xi Jinping's China, Kim Jung Un's North Korea, Bashir Al-Assad's Syria, etc. Those people in those locations had/have no choice to choose another leader. If they even speak out or try to run against the dictators - they end up dead or in prison. The people are under TOTAL IRON-FISTED RULE ................. with NO WAY OUT.

We already have a former Lt. General who was also T****'s National Security Advisor (Michael Flynn) who recently said publicly at a conservative REPUBLICAN rally that he thought a military coup like the one they just had in Myanmar "should happen here." Think about that. A military coup (forceful military takeover of the whole country backing just ONE RULER. Sound good to anyone???????????

There are other current and former military and CIA people who believe the U.S.A. needs a coup to happen. And these people are ALL - REPUBLICAN PARTY shit-stains that "claim" to love liberty and freedom!!!!!!! You can't have both a military coup and freedom ................. they are direct opposites.

This is the price of too many people who paid no attention in school. They DO NOT understand the difference between fascism and freedom. If people don't get smart .......... REALLY QUICKLY .......... I'll give the U.S.A. NO MORE than 20 more years as we have known it (freedom) - and a dictatorship will take over - either a home-grown dictator ............ or a Russia / China dictator will swoop in and the U.S. will be history.

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY is destroying the U.S.A. by their commandeering of our election system. (in REPUBLICAN-CONTROLLED state legislatures around the country). Changing election rules, eliminating polling places, reducing voting hours, eliminating / restricting voting by mail, absentee ballots, reducing the number of ballot boxes to 1 per county, gerrymandering (re-drawing) voting districts, and even making it illegal to give water to people standing in line waiting to vote.

Sound like "free and fair" elections to anyone????????????????? Or restricted / eliminated opportunities and making life miserable for folks to vote????????

I think it's something much worse. Haven't you been keeping up? The new voter suppression laws carefully target methods used by African-Americans to get out the vote in their community: eliminating voting on Sunday, to prevent Souls to the Polls voting, restrictions on absentee ballots, making it easier to purge voter registrations, restricting polling stations and drop off boxes in black neighborhoods, making it illegal to give voters standing in long lines a drink of water, and worst of all, enabling politicians to override regular voting officials in counting the ballots. As the late Mayor Daley of Chicago used to say "It's not the votes that count, it's how the votes are counted."

 

They (Republicans) are one terrified group of people! Instead of producing rational environmental policies to deal with issues like climate change they are retreating to the first choice response of addicts….denial. Same with working to correct racism and inclusiveness issues in the face of an obviously changing society….more denial.

Its networking systems logic, and it should be possible to predict their behavior on almost any scale, with roughly the accuracy of Newtonian mechanics, the weatherman, and the changing seasons.

 

You forgot another piece of runny bowel movement by THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ....................... limiting the amount of time to actually count ballots!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So if THE REPUBLICAN PARTY sets a time limit for counting - do remaining ballots just not count after "zero hour" ??? Wouldn't that also jeopardize some Republican voters' votes ???? Or are they going to open the ballots and only count the REPUBLICAN VOTES ?????

And TODAY - the "Supreme Court" (???) ruled (6 to 3) that Arizona's new REPUBLICAN-WRITTEN restrictive voting rules can stand. This is much further eliminating voting rights ( long ago secured in the Voting Rights Act - of I believe 1965) for black and other minority voters .......... but those new rules are worded without any "obvious" racial delineations ............ so the "Supreme Court"(???) said they aren't "racially" preventative.

This is why I've said in other threads on HIP that I give the U.S.A. at most another 20 years of existence as we've known it. THE REPUBLICAN PARTY is gutting this country ......... killing us as a democracy ......... and turning it into another Russia or China - which are autocratic dictatorships. The way THE REPUBLICAN PARTY is re-writing election rules and gerrymandering voting districts so only THEY can win elections means we'll have an autocratic, dictatorial "government." The majority of people will no longer have a voice in choosing their own leaders, or votes that count if they oppose the REPUBLICAN DICTATORIAL rule.

Name a country anywhere - throughout history - where such a style of governing was good for THE MAJORITY of it's citizens. It's only good for the political dick-suckers and rich insiders, because that who the "new rules" are written to protect.

Go ahead .................... name a 1-party, autocratic, dictatorial political system that was fair to all citizens. I'll wait .........................................................................................................................................................

 

I also said in another thread here that ALL citizens - especially ALL BLACK, LATINO, & ASIAN citizens - should go register to vote N-O-W !!!!! Don't wait until it's close to the next election day. Your applications will "get lost" or have some kind of "delay" in processing, or just as likely .............. THE REPUBLICAN PARTY will place strict time windows on when you CAN register to vote. trust me ...................... they'll make it damn near impossible for most voters to vote ............ whether they're already registered or not.

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY has become an AUTOCRATIC, DICTATORIAL MENACE to our democracy. They already re-wrote the tax laws when T**** was prez, and the HUGE TAX BREAKS went to the very richest people and big corporations. The small tax breaks for the avg. American will disappear in 2025 or 2026. What in hell do you think they'll do when they control ALL GOVERNMENT ................ Federal, State, and Local???? (Because of their new very restrictive election laws & gerrymandering of voting districts).

Take a good look at Russia and China, Syria, North Korea, Iran, and other autocratic, dictator-ruled countries. That is our future................ all because of THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. It's not your parents' Republican party anymore.

Say goodbye to our democracy and our freedoms (and ask yourself what kind of shit-hole we're leaving for our kids & grandkids) ............................ because they are being eroded away and eliminated ......................... by THE REPUBLICAN PARTY.

 

3 sad truths to your post.

1 - Climate-friendly policies can create millions of good-paying jobs to mitigate or eliminate many of our pollutants - but the power-broker REPUBLICANS are purchased and owned by "corporate America." So denial, lies, and delaying any climate-friendly actions are the standard operating procedure.

2 - Many avg. Republican folks - American workers - are bearing the brunt of "their" party's obstinance toward greener technologies and the jobs those climate-friendly policies would create. The power-broker REPUBLICANS at the top are lapping & sucking at the big-money political genitals - contributions lavished on them by "corporate America" and the multi-billionaires that own & control them. So the power-broker REPUBLICANS live lives of luxury and wealth, with F-A-T retirement pensions - pensions paid for by the very tax payers they're screwing over.

3 - ALL PEOPLE - Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Green Party, Libertarians, Socialists, Communists, - any party on the planet in any country - are already, and will continue to suffer the effects of climate change and environmental degradation. Ruin knows no political party. God help our kids and grandkids for what they'll be forced to endure.

 

Republican policy in a nutshell;

(A) It's too cold for the Texas power grid to function. Thousands sat in the dark without heat for weeks, 200 died.
(B) It's too hot for the Texas power grid to function. Thousands of customers are being told to turn off air conditioners or face rolling blackouts.

When republicans are up to their asses in water with their hair on fire----maybe--JUST MAYBE---will they then consider that protecting the earth from the money grubbers takes precedence over continuing to help the super rich get more riches.
