In the UK, the medical use of cannabis when prescribed by a registered, specialist doctor was legalized in November 2018. But it's illegal to grow, distribute or sell cannabis here and doing so can attract a penalty of up to 14 years in prison, an unlimited fine, or both.

Is medicinal weed legal in the UK?
As mentioned above, cannabis has been legal for medical use since 2018 in the UK. This doesn't mean that there are many options for those who want treatments like this, though. In fact, there are only two conditions that can currently be treated with medical cannabis; childhood epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.
