Neptune Beach man accused in Jan. 6 Capitol altercation that injured officer may have to appear before DC judge

    excerpt:

"JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Neptune Beach man arrested Tuesday in connection with an altercation during the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol that left an officer “visibly injured” appeared before a federal judge in Jacksonville on Wednesday. He wore a shirt with an American flag on the sleeve.

Daniel Paul Gray, 41, is charged with federal offenses that include forcibly assaulting, resisting, impeding and interfering with police; engaging in acts of physical violence in the Capitol building; and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

A magistrate set a $25,000 bond and an identity hearing was scheduled for Monday. If it is verified Gray is the person seen bodycam video assaulting the officer, he’ll next have to appear before a judge in Washington, D.C.

According to court documents, Gray was one of the first people to try and break through police lines. Once inside the Capitol Rotunda, bodycam video shows that he grabbed the baton of an officer trying to stop the rioters and push her, causing her to fall down a set of stairs and be visibly injured."

Trump fumes about criminal investigation and resorts to self-pity ploy.

Trump fumes as New York inquiry now a criminal probe

    excerpt:

""After prosecutorial efforts the likes of which nobody has ever seen before, they failed to stop me in Washington, so they turned it over to New York to do their dirty work. This is what I have been going through for years," he wrote.

The former president's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr, condemned the inquiry as "flagrant abuse of political office". On Twitter, he shared an old video of Ms James promising to pursue all legal options against Mr Trump while she was still campaigning for the attorney general role."

The Senate will vote on the January 6 Commission sometime next week unless they stall it. It's expected to die there, it needs at least 10 Republicans to vote for it.

In the house 35 Republicans broke ranks and voted for the commission, while 175 of them voted against it. That's 5-1.

So this one-term, twice-impeached former President who incited an attack on the Capitol after losing the GOP the House, Senate and Presidency still holds that much power over them. It means nothing to them that they could have been killed that day. If some Republican Congressmen had been killed by the mob, would that sway them? I'm not sure if it would.

Let's see what happens to them at sentencing time. (IF they get convicted of anything.) "First-time offenders" will get 6 months probation ............... for attempting to overthrow a legally-established government in direct violation of our U.S. Constitution.

If I'm a "first-time" rapist, bank robber, sex trafficker, drunk driver who killed someone in an accident ............. would I get a "slap on the wrist" ????? Capitol police and others were ATTACKED and beaten with clubs, flag-poles (of ALL things), fists (some with brass knuckles - on video!) and several people died as a result. Attempting to overthrow our government should result in MANDATORY 25 year prison sentences ........ AT MINIMUM.

Lincoln's party my ass. In Lincoln's day they'd have been HUNG for treason. BY LINCOLN. He was about justice and equality. Today's REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP wouldn't make a decent PUSTULE on Lincoln's ass.

Then Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy essentially admitted “The Committee's chief goal is to politicize the deaths of four brave Americans in order to try to attack the Obama administration and hurt Hillary Clinton's campaign."

Yet, in 2017 when four U.S. special forces soldiers were killed in Niger under the trump administration (His version of Benghazi) not so much as a peep.

Trump actually made a phone call to one of the widows and when she asked the president “how come you can’t even remember my husband’s name” Trump told her “your husband knew what he signed up for" and hung up.

Trump's supporters passionately believe everything that comes out of his mouth. Can you imagine how the GOP would react if Biden were making the same whining, selfish & pathetic statements as his predecessor?

Good gosh, we'd never hear the end of it from them.

Trump slams 'wayward' Republicans for Capitol riot vote

    excerpt:

"Shortly before the vote, Tim Ryan, an Ohio Democrat, said on the House floor: "We have people scaling the Capitol, hitting the Capitol Police with lead pipes across the head, and we can't get bipartisanship? What else has to happen in this country?""

Donald Duck is still a free man, because they have no need to hide anything, when they own the fucking judges, in the time honored tradition of the Mafia. Democrats might as well kiss the rings of the Supremes. What price justice? Ask your Wall Street investor for the latest estimates.

Maricopa County will need new voting machines after GOP's audit, Arizona secretary of state says

    excerpt:

"In a letter sent to Maricopa County officials and shared with NBC News, Hobbs, a Democrat, cited security concerns about losing the chain of custody over the equipment when it was handed over to the auditors and urged the county to get new machines. If it does not, her office would consider decertifying the equipment involved in the audit, she wrote. That would remove the machines from service.

State Senate Republicans subpoenaed nearly 400 of Maricopa County's election machines, along with ballots cast by voters in November's election, to facilitate an unusual audit of the election results. The GOP hired private firms, led by the Florida-based cybersecurity company Cyber Ninjas, to do the work.

"I have grave concerns regarding the security and integrity of these machines, given that the chain of custody, a critical security tenet, has been compromised and election officials do not know what was done to the machines while under Cyber Ninjas' control," Hobbs wrote in the letter to the county's mostly Republican Board of Supervisors, which oversees the county elections."

Trump supporters caused even more damage to the Capitol than was previously known

    excerpt:

""On January 6, members of my team were preparing the grounds and the presidential inauguration stage. Our artists and trades teams were excited to finish painting the stands a bright white with a deep blue edging on the main stage of the platform," Blanton told the Committee on House Administration.

"As crowds began to appear on the West Front at about mid-day, my staff was moved indoors or sent home. Shockingly, over the course of a couple of hours, the hard work of our team was destroyed. The platform was wrecked, there was broken glass and other debris littering the grounds, sound systems and photography equipment were damaged beyond repair or stolen, two historic Olmsted lanterns were ripped from the ground, and the blue paint — we had so painstakingly worked on all morning — was tracked all over the historic stone balustrades and Capitol Building hallways."

Decorative painters were needed to restore the damage, Blanton said.

"Statues, murals, historic benches and original shutters also suffered varying degrees of damage. This damage to our precious artwork and statues requires expert cleaning and conservation," he noted.

A $2 billion emergency spending bill to boost security at the Capitol includes funding for a wellness center for Capitol police officers named after Officer Howie Liebengood, of Virginia, who took his life shortly after serving on duty against the insurrection. A second officer, Jeffrey Smith, of Virginia, also took his life about a week after the riot."

As Rep. Clyde would say, it was just another well-behaved public tour of the Capitol.
