Campaign manager for McSally pleads guilty to stealing $115,000 of campaign money. McSally lost to Kelly in AZ which, along with two seats lost in a runoff election in GA, gave control of the U.S. Senate to Democrats. Trump and the GOP should be addressing such fraud instead of imposing voting suppression legislation as a way of dealing with their election losses. McSally's former deputy campaign manager pleads guilty to stealing campaign funds excerpt: "A deputy campaign manager to former Sen. Martha McSally pleaded guilty Friday to stealing more than six figures from her campaign, the Justice Department announced. Anthony Barry, who was a consultant and a deputy campaign manager for the Arizona Republican, is facing up to five years in prison after pleading guilty to taking more than $115,000 from her campaign in 2018 and 2019, according to a release from the Justice Department. His sentencing is slated for July 6."
Biden's initial large lead margin in AZ when early votes were counted frustrates the GOP which now wants to squelch mail-in voting in AZ and other states like GA and FL which have already passed restrictive measures. https://www.usnews.com/news/best-st...-target-arizona-voting-laws-after-trumps-loss excerpt: "Democratic President Joe Biden was the first Democrat to win Arizona since 1996, topping Trump by about 10,500 votes out of 3.3 million cast — about 0.3 percentage points. As results were reported on election night, Biden opened a massive lead with the earliest ballots counted — early votes and mail ballots that were returned well before the election. Biden’s lead narrowed as mail ballots that arrived closer to election day, and especially ballots cast in person at traditional polling places, were counted and weighed more toward Trump. Trump, his attorneys and some of his allies in the state Legislature cast doubt on Biden’s victory, asserting without evidence that the election was marred by fraud. Eight lawsuits were filed but rejected by judges. Much of their ire was directed at the early ballots that favored Biden."
https://www.usnews.com/news/best-st...-target-arizona-voting-laws-after-trumps-loss excerpt: "Mail voting in Arizona has become extraordinarily popular over the past three decades. More than 8 in 10 votes are now cast with ballots that arrive in the mail and are returned either through the postal service, an official drop box or at a polling place on election day."
In MI and other states where Trump had the significant lead initially and later lost when ballots were counted late in the evening, Trump claimed fraud. In AZ, when Trump closed Biden's lead late in the counting, Trump didn't attribute his late surge to fraud. He wanted more votes counted, hoping that he would overtake Biden. A Youtube video showed a split-screen video of Trump supporters in MI yelling "Stop the count!" while in AZ they were yelling "Count those votes!" Youtube video:
Gaetz and Greene throw 90-minute Trump rally in FL without Trump. Gaetz, Greene move Trump's populism along at rally | 10tv.com excerpt: "U.S. Reps. Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene, two of the Republican Party's most controversial figures, kicked off their "America First Rally" roadshow Friday with a Trump-centric revival of sorts for the MAGA faithful at a Florida retirement community. The gathering appeared to be an attempt to position the two conservatives as successors to the former president's populism. "Tell me, who is your president?" Greene shouted after walking out onto a ballroom stage in front of hundreds of supporters wearing "Trump" T-shirts and "Make America Great Again" red ballcaps." "Trump!" the mask-less crowd of retirees wearing MAGA red yelled back.
0:08 is the crackpot remark about humbleness during the CBS interview. Mike Pence deserves a medal for keeping a straight face through Trump's remarks. Lesley Stahl: "You're not known to be a humble man." Trump (interrupting): "I think I am actually humble. Much more humble than you would understand."
The tiny desk scene at 3:27 was the event where Trump blew up at Jeff Mason of Reuters who continued to ask Trump if he was going to concede the election to Biden after the recount. Trump avoided the question by rambling on and on. Mason politely asked the question again and Trump blew up. "Don't ever talk to the president that way! You're a lightweight!" Unfazed after Trump's blowup, Mason asked it again. Trump ignored him and went to another reporter who asked the same question but didn't use the word 'concede' which Trump hates. At the rally on the Ellipse just before the riot started at the Capitol, Trump blared "We will never concede!"
Sidenote about Lesley Stahl. '60 Minutes' correspondent Stahl says she fought coronavirus excerpt: "NEW YORK (AP) — CBS News “60 Minutes” correspondent Lesley Stahl said Sunday that she’s finally feeling well after a battle with COVID-19 that left her hospitalized for a week. Stahl said she was “really scared” after fighting pneumonia caused by the coronavirus for two weeks at home before going to the hospital. “One of the rules of journalism is ‘don’t become part of the story,’” Stahl said at the end of Sunday’s broadcast. “But instead of covering the pandemic, I was one of the more-than-one-million Americans who did become part of it.” Stahl, 78, is the dean of correspondents at television’s best-known newsmagazine. She joined “60 Minutes” in March 1991, and before that was moderator of the Sunday talk show “Face the Nation” and a Washington correspondent." She landed the first television interview with Donald Trump after he was elected president, and the first with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi when she become speaker — both in 2007 and again in 2019."
"I'm the most humble guy ever... Nobody has ever seen a more humble guy. A lot of people are saying this." ~ Donald J. Trump
Trump couldn't handle Jeff Mason, whom he called a lightweight. Mason politely went to the core of Trump's frustration: not being able to admit he lost the election and his unwillingness to concede to Biden. It infuriated Trump. Trump's festering inability to admit defeat later culminated with his riot at the Capitol. Jeff Mason deserves credit for exposing the empty soul of Trump.
In a video taken by journalist Igor Bobic near him, Goodman is seen distracting the first group of protesters who were heading toward the entrance of the Senate chamber when senators were still inside. The protesters unwittingly walked past the chamber doors while following Goodman up to a higher floor. It gave security enough time to escort the senators away from the chamber. Once inside, investigators say Hughes and another man kicked a door until the lock broke so that other rioters could enter the Capitol. Investigators say the Hughes brothers then pushed their way to the front of a mob that was chasing Goodman, despite his repeated commands to them to back up and leave the building. “Rather, the rioters kept advancing toward Officer Goodman in a menacing manner – even as Officer Goodman retreated to recover a baton that had been dropped onto the floor. The video shows that Douglas Austin Jensen was the primary aggressor, followed immediately by Joshua Calvin Hughes and Jerod Wade Hughes.”"

Montana man who chased Officer Goodman wants out of jail | wusa9.com excerpt: "WASHINGTON — A Montana man accused of being at the front of the mob that chased Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman has asked to be released from custody – saying he was “duped” by former President Donald Trump and that he is unable to provide for his daughter and disabled wife. Jerod Hughes, of East Helena, Montana, was indicted along with his brother Joshua on nine counts last month, including obstruction of an official proceeding, entering a restricted government building and civil disorder."
Y'know, we keep reading that "most experts still doubt that Trump will run for president in '24" and I keep thinking: 'what, are you kidding?' O f course, he's running; I can't believe anyone doubts it. But in addition to his inflated ego and his innate 'humbleness,'. there's the problem that there won't be any Republican to run against him, at least not as things stand today. There surely are GOP lawmakers that want to be president (Cruz, Pence, Kristi Noem, etc) but at present, those fine folks are so busy filling Trump with lavish praise that I can't see how voters would take their candidacy seriously if they suddenly decided they wanted to run against him. Plus, there's the problem that if any of them want to enter the race, they'll be displeasing Trump's base of supporters......and as we've learned, 'displeasing' them can take many forms.. So, they have a choice of running and facing the consequences, or staying out of the race and canceling their personal and political ambitions until 2028. Do any one of you think that any GOP candidate could defeat Trump in a primary.....or would dare to enter one?
