"His statement, after he was charged; "that he was involved in a peaceful protest" (& he mentioned guns); the white middle class was, is so taken in by Trump, alt-right radio, Fox, Newsmax & OAN * & the indoctrination was deep.

Many with military backgrounds have been charged & most say that they acted for the benefit of their wronged iconic (cult) leader..

The lie (re elections) was repeated enough that it finally had a ring of truth to it, & many acted on it. I think about kingpins Cruz, Hawley, Lee who sit on their perch, carped about the illegal election, raked in millions in fundraising; & then far "beneath them" white patriots caught in the mayhem, that the politicians tacitly endorsed.

And the real twist is the R media, & droves of R politicians that totally diminish the severity of the insurrection & months later shift the blame to progressives; feeling Trump had nothing to do with it? All in the messaging.

There may be multiple plea bargains, settlements & light sentences (I don't know); but I can't imagine judges taking the bait & letting folk off under a "peaceful protest" defense. And all those cell phone shots taken of themselves & friends, factual evidence that will be admitted against them in hearings.

Oh the egos, "look at me" my girl friend & I at the Capitol grounds, I didn't mean to push the cop, swing or push the fallen gate (barriers) & when I yelled, I didn't mean anything by it.

I wonder how many of them know (when will they learn) they were "used by Trump", his machine & cause? And Hannity & Carlson still at it spinning - but both of them rolling in $ millions & buying new estates. The (Republican) good & bad news - the high rollers, keep rolling- the low rollers getting snagged & arrested & those on the "high side" could care less."

 

One of Trump's rioters made such a statement to a police officer after pushing her and causing her to fall, strike her head on the stairs, and go unconscious. The protester's remark was, "Why did you get in our way? We didn't want to hurt you."

 

Copeland blamed the police officers.

Copeland allegedly told agents that he felt that “police officers were trying to ‘penetrate the line’ of the protesters and ‘steal’ individual members of the crowd.”"

Southern Utah man charged with attacking officers during U.S. Capitol riot

“So that everyone knows I go to see the FBI and a judge tomorrow,” one post from Wednesday states. “I guess peacefully protesting at the Capitol is now illegal and they are trying to hunt us all down to try and teach us a lesson. Unfortunately only one option remains when we return. We bring guns and take the Capitol building without intention of being peaceful. This ends with the government bombing their own people. I had hopes it wouldn’t. But here we are.”"

 

It's illegal to be on the steps of the Capitol without permission. Trump's protesters had already broken the law just being on the steps.

Pence was in the Capitol which potentially doubles the imprisonment punishment for violations of any of the laws.

Someone supposedly 'stole' the election from Trump which induced his followers to attack the police who supposedly tried to 'steal' protesters.

 

Apple Valley, Utah is in Washington County. St. George is the largest city in the county, and is booming. There are more Mormons in St. George than in Salt Lake City. This area of Utah is called Dixie(hmm). Cliven Bundy’s ranch is not too far away.
Note, that part of Utah is hotter than hell in summer.

 

Half the damned population of the US just approved of a dictator trashing our entire judicial system, and half the damned republican party still wants a dictator, while these guys are the Three Stooges debating who is in charge of the lynch mob.

 

Stop asking the wrong questions, and ask yourself how such a total dickhead is still alive and free. Half the damned country approves of this total dickhead, and disapproves of the other half the country. If conservative weren't already killing themselves faster than cancer, someone would declare war.

 

Believe it or not, if half the damned population claims your politics are garbage, they are.

 

It sort of like being in Arkansas but with a little less water.

 

Instead of Trump needing to form his own party, the remnants of what used to be the GOP are now facing the prospect of having to form a new party to compete with a formative institutionalized Trump GOP.

The suspect, Robert Petrosh Jr., of Mays Landing, was charged after an anonymous tipster told the FBI that his grandmother heard from Petrosh’s mother that he stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 with throngs of Donald Trump supporters.

The tipster added that Petrosh had been “lying low” after a number of the alleged Capitol rioters were arrested in the weeks after the uprising.

Investigators then obtained a copy of Petrosh’s driver’s license and matched his photo to footage that shows him inside the Capitol during the riot, according to the court documents."

 

Trump DOJ secretly seized phone records from Washington Post reporters

"The Justice Department sent letters dated May 3 to three current and former reporters at the newspaper, informing them that DOJ had obtained phone records from the period of April 15, 2017, to July 31, 2017, the Washington Post reported.
