If the republicans win the house back or get 51 votes in the senate--gridlock will ensue again and the top priority will once more be passing laws or overturning laws that give the 1% and corporations advantages in every way possible. Have the working people of this country not learned who and what the republicans stand for??

On the House side, the 2020 census has altered the distribution of congressional seats, which will have an effect on the 2022 midterms.

Texas will gain 2 congressional seats. Seven states to lose 1 seat, Census Bureau data shows

    excerpt:

"In total, seven seats shifted affecting 13 states. Colorado, Florida, Montana, North Carolina and Oregon each gained one seat in addition to Texas. California, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia each lost one seat.

The shift could affect the 2022 midterm elections and whether Democrats can hold onto control of the House, where they hold a narrow majority. It's also part of a broader shift to the South and West of the U.S., with 84 seats shifting toward those states since 1940."

    excerpt:

"Two Kansas women who said they traveled to the nation’s capital on Jan. 6 for a peaceful protest supporting Donald Trump have now been arrested in connection to the deadly riot that followed the former president’s speech and tweets.

Records from the U.S. District Court for Kansas show Jennifer Ruth Parks and Esther Schwemmer were both arrested on Friday. Their Kansas cases show they are to be transferred to U.S. District Court for Washington, D.C.

Federal court records from the District of Columbia concerning the women’s cases remained sealed as of Sunday. However, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has released a complaint and statement of fact in Parks’s case that detail allegations against both women.

The records say the women admitted to traveling to DC together and entering the Capitol building. Parks has been charged with two counts of knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building without lawful authority and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. Charges against Schwemmer have not been publicly released.""

Accused Capitol rioter who left a note for Nancy Pelosi says he called her the 'less offensive' 'biatch,' not 'b----' in new argument for bail

    excerpt:

""I wrote her a nasty note, put my feet up on her desk and scratched my balls," Barnett told Rosenberg. "I left her a note on her desk, it says, 'Nancy, Bigo was here you b----."

Barnett was arrested in January and indicted on a slew of federal charges, including violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds; knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building without lawful authority; and theft of public money, property, or records."

Capitol Riot Suspect Who Defied Judge's Mask Order Eats Crow With Apology

    excerpt:

"Her workplace has now removed the video. Rare that thumbing your nose at a judge involves an actual nose! pic.twitter.com/Bp5cwPL2qq

U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth blasted the mesh mask as “mocking” the court’s condition for Powell’s release. “No reasonable person could think that defendant’s ‘mask’ complied” with the requirement ... “imposed to ensure that defendant ‘would not pose a risk to the health and safety of the community when she left her house,’” he said in his ruling.

Lamberth ordered Powell to show cause why he shouldn’t hold her in contempt of court and return her to jail.

Powell’s attorney Michael Engle issued an apology on her behalf for her “poor choice and her unwise conduct,” in a court memorandum filed Monday.

“The Defendant wishes to apologize to this Honorable Court, and to Pre-Trial Services, for her poor choice and her unwise conduct in this matter. It was not Ms. Powell’s intention to mock compliance with her condition of release or to flout the Court’s Order,” the document argued.""

Pro-Trump Firm Hired by Arizona GOP to Audit 2020 Election Results Told Judge It Can’t Release Procedures to Public

    excerpt:

"The cyber security firm hired by the Republican-led Arizona Senate to audit Maricopa County’s 2020 election results on Sunday told a state Superior Court judge (who has now recused himself) that the company couldn’t divulge its recount procedures amid concerns that the entire ordeal is nothing more than a partisan stunt aimed at fueling false claims of widespread election fraud, the Arizona Republic reported.

According to the report, Cyber Ninjas, a Florida-based consulting company that has never worked on an election and is led by conspiracy theorist Doug Logan, asserted that abiding by a court order to produce its training manuals and procedures would “compromise the security of its recount.”"

“Tonight, FNC personality Carlson called for his audience to start direct action. He told them to confront people wearing masks, which he says are signs of “political obedience.” He maintained that 64% of white Americans who called themselves “liberal” or “very liberal” “have been diagnosed with an actual mental health condition.” He called them “aggressors” and told supporters, “it’s our job to brush them back and restore the society we were born in.” He said to call the police immediately if they see children wearing masks and keep calling until someone arrives: it is child abuse, he says, and his audience is “morally obligated to prevent it.”
The chyron under his monologue read: “THIS ISN’T ABOUT SCIENCE. IT’S ABOUT POWER.”

When Oxford professors like Richard Dawkins make up their own gibberish and nonsense words, guys like Carlson are the voice of reason, and billionaires decide the definition of stupid.

I wish someone professional would diagnose Tucker Carlson's mental health condition. Not being a mental health professional, the best I can come up with is he's a ranting knee-jerk extreme right wing asshole.

According to even the evangelical Bana Group, fundamentalism is officially synonymous with hypocrisy according to their own standards, and also meets all the criteria for a mental disease. However, nobody has ever established the existence of common sense anywhere in the world, and psychologists refuse to categorize them as a mental disease because, after a century of public education, academics could not teach a child how to use a dictionary if their lives depended on it. Technically, psychology is a mental disease of the rich and famous, and psychologists could categorize their own profession as a mental disease related to autism. They would actually have to try to do worse to have a worse success rates in the US, with some studies indicating psychologists are now becoming a significant mental health hazard.

Tucker Carlson compares kids wearing masks outside to child abuse. ‘Call the police’
    By Mike Stunson

"Fox News host Tucker Carlson slammed mask wearers Monday and said they should not be worn outdoors. Fox News screenshot

Fox News host Tucker Carlson spoke out against mask wearing Monday as U.S. officials consider loosening federal guidelines on face coverings when outdoors.

Carlson, who has often spread dangerous misinformation related to COVID-19, said people should ask others to stop wearing their face mask outdoors.

“The next time you see someone in a mask on the sidewalk or the bike path, don’t hesitate. Ask politely but firmly, ‘Would you please take off your mask? Science shows there is no reason to wear it. Your mask is making me uncomfortable,’” Carlson said.”We should do that, and we should keep doing it, until wearing a mask outdoors is roughly as socially accepted as lighting a Marlboro in an elevator. It’s repulsive.”"

Perspective | Tucker Carlson’s latest idiocy on masks is dangerous and hypocritical even by his usual standards
    By Margaret Sullivan, Media columnist
    April 27, 2021 at 3:47 p.m. UTC

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/life...7c0844-a752-11eb-bca5-048b2759a489_story.html

    excerpt:

"Requiring children to wear masks outside should be illegal, he insisted, and must be fought against.

“Your response when you see children wearing masks as they play should be no different from your response to seeing someone beat a kid in Walmart,” Carlson said on his Monday show. “Call the police immediately, contact child protective services. Keep calling until someone arrives.” He went on: “What you’re looking at is abuse, it’s child abuse and you are morally obligated to attempt to prevent it.”

Carlson, who brands himself as someone deeply invested in individual liberties, nonetheless urged his viewers Monday to confront strangers wearing masks outdoors and request they bare their faces by telling them, “Your mask is making me uncomfortable.”

Carlson, we understand, is performing for his audience. His trademark petulant outrage is designed to get attention — and ratings.

It’s a canny-enough calculation. As Fox News struggles to figure out its post-election approach to the world, Carlson has become its most dependable resource. Another prime-time host, Sean Hannity, seems completely dismissible now that his alter ego, the former president, has left center stage, and the rest of the network’s coverage and commentary seems to be trying to find its footing in the new political reality. (The weeks-long obsession with the supposed “cancellation” of Dr. Seuss books comes to mind.)"
