Some of them will finally wake up and smell the bullshit, little by little Trump's base is shrinking. But unfortunately it's little by little. Some of the doofuses who support him will stay loyal to the end, in fact some will listen to this and say, "There was only voter fraud in the blue states? Aha! I knew it! I knew it!" :openmouth:

Trump has numerous lawsuits against him pending: inciting a riot, fraud, tax evasion, sexual assault, and lots more, but 3 months after bitterly leaving office he still hasn't been charged. And try as I might I can't get any info on when he's likely to be charged, not even speculation. Yes I want the prosecution to put together the best case they can, but I have to wonder how much time they'll need. Anyone have any ideas, even vague ones?

Hell with them. We’ve got to continue to do what we did in 2020, regardless of all the silly little voting restrictions they continue to impose. As I said before, I’m neither Democrat or Republican, but I voted Democrat this time, and I’m convinced that after what I’ve seen and continue to see from the GOP, republicans should never run the house or the senate until they fully cleanse themselves of Trump, Gaetz,Ted Cruz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, etc., etc.,

The first thing the Repubs need to do is put Trump behind them and move on, but that's a major uphill battle. He still commands a lot of support and it will take a while before it dissolves enough to take away the threat he poses. The issues he's having with Mitch McConnell might be the way to accomplish it, if McConnell can rally support away from Trump it could speed up the process. Yes it would be the lesser of two evils, but that seems to be the best the Republicans can offer us: the lesser of two evils.

Be patient, their working on it. They are going to make sure they have everything wired tight and that he and his legal team can’t easily find loopholes to get out of. My question is, which of these will take priority?

With a legal team of Lin Powell, and Rudy Giuliani, how could he possibly lose? Asking for a friend.

My guess would be whoever feels they have a solid case against him first. I wish someone would charge him with something, either a lawsuit or a criminal investigation, and before that one is resolved let someone else charge him, and so on. There are lots of separate charges pending, we can afford to lose one or two. Let him be so consumed by his legal battles that he doesn't have the time to disrupt the country or address his followers, until he becomes obscure.

I guarantee Giuliani is NOT part of his legal team anymore- I don’t think he’s been paid for all the fiascos and dirty politics he did for Trump, before and during the election.

I dunno, I just can't believe Rudy did the things he did and with whom. Trump must have had the goods on him to end his career a fool. My favorite Rudy-ism is him trotting down the street on 9/11 proclaiming building 7 "was about to fall". Then it drops perfectly into its foundation with a fwump. Methinks there may have been foul play....

Trump-backed ex-NFL star who might run for U.S. Senate in Georgia is creating ‘a lot of anxiety’

Trump-backed ex-NFL star who might run for U.S. Senate in Georgia is creating ‘a lot of anxiety’

    excerpt:

"CNN reports Walker has had “several conversations” with Trump about a potential run and that Walker also has spoken to the National Republican Senatorial Committee, as well as Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C), who called Walker an “outstanding candidate.”

It’s worth noting Trump’s relationship with Walker goes back more than 30 years.

Walker’s career as a pro football player began in 1983 when he signed with the New Jersey Generals in the USFL after winning the Heisman Trophy at Georgia. In 1984, Trump bought the Generals. Walker played two seasons with Trump as his boss before heading to the Dallas Cowboys, who owned his NFL draft rights. The USFL folded in 1986 following its failed antitrust lawsuit vs. the NFL."

Prosecutors expect at least 100 more arrests for U.S. Capitol riot

    excerpts:

"The siege left five people dead and more than 130 police officers injured.

A magistrate judge in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia described the attack as an act of terrorism during a court hearing for Charles Donohue, a leader of the Proud Boys extremist right-wing group.

"The acts alleged in the indictment would meet, in my view, the statutory definition of a federal crime of terrorism," U.S. Magistrate Judge G. Michael Harvey said, adding that the attack "struck at the very heart of our democracy."

The FBI has been increasingly focused on suspects with ties to right-wing extremist groups including the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys.

More than 40 members or associates of the two groups have been arrested and charged so far."

Why stop with only 100 additional arrests, there were thousands who breached the Capitol

Why because 500 is a nice round number?

NY Man Cuffed After Posting on Dating App That He Did ‘Storm the Capitol' During Riot

    excerpt:

"Another New York man was arrested for his role in the siege at the U.S. Capitol back in January, after law enforcement learned that he talked about storming the Capitol on social media and a dating app, according to prosecutors.

Robert Chapman, from the Putnam County town of Carmel, was arrested Thursday by the FBI in connection with the events of Jan. 6 in Washington, D.C., prosecutors said. He was charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct on restricted government property.

The FBI was provided information regarding Chapman’s social media posts in the days following Jan. 6 in which he is pictured in Statuary Hall in the Capitol. He also told a woman he had matched with on the dating app Bumble that "I did storm the capitol" and that he "made it all the way into Statuary Hall," court papers allege."

Syracuse 'Proud Boy' arrested by FBI for involvement in Capitol riots

    excerpt:

"SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A self-proclaimed "Proud Boy" from Syracuse is in FBI custody for his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riots.

Matthew Greene, 33, is named in a superseding indictment with two other people: Dominic Pezzola of Rochester and William Pepe of Beacon.

"According to the indictment, Mr. Greene and his co-conspirators intended to stop, delay, or hinder Congress's certification of the Electoral College vote, 'by force if necessary,'" said Special Agent in Charge Thomas Relford from FBI Albany. "His actions were deliberate, dangerous and illegal. Now he must face the consequences."

    Greene was arrested Wednesday."

Some of Trump's rioters aren't happy with themselves and with life in general.

NY Man Cuffed After Posting on Dating App That He Did ‘Storm the Capitol' During Riot

    excerpt:

"In other posts from before and the day of the siege on the Capitol, that same public Facebook profile Robert Erick posted that he was leaving New York City, "the rotten apple. Gonna go down to the District of Criminality to Enjoy some much deserved entertainment." The following day, he posted that he was "INSIDE THE CRAPITOL!!!," posting photos posing inside the building.

A review of bodycam footage from the Metropolitan Police Department also revealed video of Chapman in Statuary Hall. He was previously arrested in New York in 2017, according to the New York State Police Department; it was not immediately clear what he was charged with at that time, but state police were able to work with federal officials to identify Chapman."

Like Chapman and other rioters at the Capitol, Ashli Babbitt, who was shot and killed at the Capitol, had posted videos of herself that showed she was intensely frustrated and having difficulty accepting that she was living in a country with other people who didn't necessarily share her viewpoints.

Trump is promoting his former aide, Miller, for a seat in Ohio district in the 2022 election because Republican Gonzalez voted against him during his impeachment.

'It ain’t gonna be pretty': Trump staking his reputation on taking out key Republican

    excerpt:

"As for Miller's arrest record, Politico reports, "He was charged with assault and disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in 2007 after a fight in which he punched another man in the back of the head and ran from police. He pleaded no contest to a pair of misdemeanors, and the case was dismissed on account of a program for first offenders. He was charged with underage drinking in 2009, the case dismissed due to the same program. And he was charged with disorderly conduct in 2010 following a fight after leaving a hookah bar in the wee hours in which he bloodied his wrist by punching a glass door," which is sure to become a central theme in Gonzalez's campaign."

North Texas Couple Charged With Assaulting Officers During Jan. 6 Capitol Riot

    excerpt:

"They both continued to grapple with and strike the two officers as various flags were “jabbed toward the officers’ faces,” the complaint said.

According to the FBI, Mark Middleton posted a message on his Facebook page.

“We are on the front lines. We helped push down the barriers,” he wrote, according to the criminal complaint. “Jalise and I got pepper-sprayed, clubbed, and tear-gassed. We had to retreat, but more patriots pushed forward, and they’re taking back our house … No more fooling around! … Make America great again!”"
