    You beat me to it
That's what I was going to say.
    Another lie, of course.

IOW, if I want some mustard, and I ask you if you are going by the store, the implication is I want you to go into the store and buy me some mustard.
    Note: simplified for trump supporters.

I hope the force that is deployed to protect the inauguration on the 20th is armed to the teeth and if the cultists/morons initiate combat---they are WELL TAKEN CARE OF, unlike what happened on the 6th. It's time to get real with these out of control people and to prove once and for all that they are not getting away with their bullshit.

And in fact never did mobilize the National Guard. That was done by...Pence! (maybe after he heard the chants to hang him)

There’s nothing to gain from disrupting the inauguration. However, if they do, I hope this time law enforcement and military do what they are supposed to do

Since trump supporters like guns, I wonder how they will like the guns that might be used on them by the police, and National Guard.

Trump knew what would happen and how to get his base riled up. He’s known this since he started campaigning back in 2016- with all the violence that sparked from those stupid rallies, early on. This is it for him- anything that comes close to this bullshit in the future, will be shut down quickly.

Speaking of crime bosses, another disturbing report on CNN is that some Republican representatives who voted against certification of the electors say they did so because they were afraid of violence to their families. What have we come to as a country?

Or are they just attempting to justify ( IOW LIE ) to protect themselves?

While we’re at it, I would like the gubment to impose eminent domain on Cliven Bundy’s property, and don’t take any gruff from those hillbillies.

The only good that MAY come from this era with trump, cowardly republicans and ignorant morons is that maybe --just maybe---we citizens of this country will NEVER ALLOW THIS SHIT TO HAPPEN AGAIN and will now make the existing laws and the truth matter in this country. I'm not overly optimistic though.

You bring up an interesting point. Something I have thought about the last four years. How do we prevent someone like trump from becoming president?

Many republicans will not be happy to hear their party is dead, sucks to be you. Maybe they could make it legal to vote for Mickey Mouse again.

The "legacy " of trump and his enablers will live on for some time to come, unfortunately. If 74 million citizens can find much to admire in a wastrel like trump, we may be doomed to entertain and exalt the same or even more destructive people once again. It didn't seem possible to me for so many to have done so in 2016, but lo and behold-----. The obvious overt racism, the me too movement, the calling out of the mistreatment of children in religious circles, witnessing the outright flaunting of long established laws, may continue to bring about some needed changes in our society. Just as the fight against unionizing in the 1800s and 1900s were fought by tooth, nail, guns and goons ,were by by the same type people who now have most of the money and own the right wing legislators and have convinced those that are now seen to be slavish to right wing authoritarianism, the fight must go on. In the distant (maybe) future, those historians that will chronicle this era in American history will, I believe, be writing about when the great and grand experiment in democracy--by the people and for the people----completely failed or reset itself into a equatable, law abiding, welcoming destination for all who believe and nurture the idea that ALL humans are equal and deserve to be treated with dignity and love. I'll of course be worm chow before our society is anything like I would want it to be. So it goes.

All you require is better networking systems logic. Donald Duck is the result of everyone lying to themselves and demanding everyone else lie to them. Inventions such as mass media have taken all the lies to extreme heights, empowering millions of mindless zombies to organize around lies, however, their own technology is now rapidly causing their population to implode. You can literally sell the chickens all the lies they demand, and then sell them the cure.

I don't understand why they had guns.
Any one of those overpowered police officers who were armed could have had their weapon taken.

Shots should have been fired as soon as the steps were assaulted.

Technically, they should all be replaced with robots, armed with sandbag shotguns, tear gas, and whatever else, but the Pentagon wants too much for them. Swarmbots would do the trick, and you can get 40,000 or more on a single semi-truck, but they're way expensive. They're not only deadly, but are what the military calls an "Attention Getter". Robots are good for that. Don't worry, they will make them cheaper soon enough, and won't require anymore rentacops.

They better be prepared for automatic weapon fire, various types of bombs, chemical weapons, drones, and vehicle attacks.

All avenues of attack should be covered including the sewer system.
