Trump was 'confused' when others in the White House weren't as 'delighted' as he was about Capitol violence: GOP's Ben Sasse

    excerpt:

Sasse said that the mob was "incited by the President of the United States," adding that Trump is "addicted to division."

"This is a deep brokenness in his soul. ... Donald Trump is a guy who hurts. And I hurt for him at an anthropological and a human level, but at a level of his oath of office to the Constitution, the duty of the president of the United States is to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution," Sasse said. "And the President is addicted to social media and to television, and to division, and he's been lying to the American people for eight straight weeks and planned it long before. No matter what was happening in any state, he was going to say the election was being stolen, and the people needed to rise up."

    Trump's desperation escalated.

He tried to coerce Raffensperger to overturn the Georgia election result.

Later, he pressured Pence to overthrow the election.

Lastly, he took delight in seeing the start of the riot at the Capitol that he had incited.

It would achieve (1) adding to his Guinness Book of World Records status as the only President to be impeached twice; (2) expressing official condemnation of incitement to sedition, which is serious enough to warrant congressional condemnation; and (3) if successful, forever barring the asshole from public office. This was the most serious assault on American democracy in our history, the only time the capitol has been occupied since the British in the War of 1812, and the most serious treason since Benedict Arnold. Making that clear is even more important than attention to Biden's inauguration, which would probably be heightened by the knowledge that this crime boss was brought to justice, just like Al Capone.

    https://nypost.com/2021/01/08/dc-ag-trump-giuliani-don-jr-may-be-charged-over-capitol-siege/

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON — President Trump, son Donald Trump Jr. and Rudy Giuliani may all be investigated and charged for their potential roles in inciting a violent mob that stormed the US Capitol, Washington, DC’s top prosecutor hinted Friday.

In an interview with “Good Morning America,” DC Attorney General Karl Racine, whose office is investigating dozens of rioters, laid the blame at the feet of the president for his fiery speech to supporters before many of them invaded Congress.

“I think the question is, how far up does it go? Clearly the Capitol was ground central in all of this mob’s behavior,” Racine said.

“Donald Trump Jr., Giuliani, even the president of the United States, were calling on their supporters and hate groups to go to the Capitol and in the words of Rudy Giuliani ‘exercise combat justice,'” he went on.""

If you remember, the rigged election spiel didn’t start in 2020, it started in 2016.

Republican senator: White House aides say Trump was "delighted" as Capitol was stormed

    excerpt:

"When Hewitt asked about impeachment, Sasse said there was a very important issue he wanted to get to the bottom of: why the National Guard wasn’t deployed more quickly to help restore order.

“That’s what I’ve been working on last night and this morning. I want to understand more about why the National Guard wasn’t deployed when there had been clear calls for it, and then why that delay happened. So there are more things that I need to understand before I get to a conclusory judgment about that,” Sasse said. “But I think that the question of, ‘Was the president derelict in his duty,’ that’s not an open question. He was.”

Sasse, who criticized Trump frequently during the 2016 campaign, stayed mostly quiet about the criticisms he had for most of Trump’s presidency. But in recent months he’s scathingly rebutted Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the election, calling them a “loaded gun” pointed “at the heart of legitimate self-government.” Those words proved prophetic as Trump supporters egged on by the president’s lies and conspiracy theories forced their way into the Capitol Wednesday."

The governor of the state of Virginia (a Democrat) deployed the national guard to DC during the siege on the Capitol.

Giuliani used words like 'trial by combat' which helped precipitate the siege on the Capitol.

Giuliani was on the receiving end of a siege during 9/11. He can be seen on video walking the streets trying to find a safer place and saying that NY seemed to be under some kind of attack.

The man who experienced NY being attacked dished out the same type of treatment onto his own country in the name of Trump.

LOL, Homeland Security could not even prepare for a fucking riot in DC, because they were struggling just to get their shit together.

Still waiting for any evidence Trump ever said anything about storming the building, anything other than gathering to protest on that day

This is starting to feel familiar

You don't actually have anything do you?

Sometimes it's still difficult to believe that Trump is actually president.

Trump went 'ballistic' after being tossed off Twitter

Anyone who is still unconvinced that the American political system could not possibly be further in the ditch and in desperate need of a tow truck, will figure it out eventually, or not. Maybe State Farm has "Ship of State" insurance.

I'm trying to find the photoshopped pic of Trump pinning the medal of freedom on that hairy, shirtless guy with the tats wearing the animal skin & horns,
