Trump's lawyer Jerome Marcus just asked the judge to allow him from representing Trump. Marcus told the judge Trump has demanded he carry out a crime and said he did not wish to violate the law.
The sacred seat of our government has been attacked by White Nationalist Scumbags. Four people have died, six peace officers have been hurt, our Capitol has been vandalized; and, this is what you've got to say? You want to belittle an attack on my country you disgusting piece of shit?
I find myself wondering whether the police involvement would have been different if the rioters had not been white.
How Police Handled Pro-Trump Mob Compared With Protesters For Black Racial Justice Capitol Rioters Planned for Weeks in Plain Sight. The Police Weren’t Ready. Based upon my experience attending a half dozen BLM protests this summer, I suspect that First Street would've been a river of blood.
I think so too. I was watching the footage and didn't see a black face among that gently handled, violent bunch of pro Trump criminals. I tried to imagine how the response would differ with a crowd who were mostly black, and thought that the Potomac would have run red. SAD!
They also say we're a democracy and that they want a president, who is not a dictator, but above the law and allowed to commit high crimes and treason. I'd say what we have here is a failure to communicate, with about 1/3 of the country.
Racism here? Oh, not at all! Perish the thought. Things are getting better, but we're not nearly to actual normalcy yet. The Bible says that God sees us all as equal Until we all do, our society will be lacking.
Fears over unstable Trump's fitness for office in final dangerous days - CNNPolitics excerpt: "But the bedlam, which saw rioters smash windows, lay siege to lawmakers and reach the House and Senate chambers, had the opposite effect, hastening the moment of final repudiation for the President and his baseless claims of a stolen election. A number of Senate Republicans who had been minded to drag out the President's stunt flipped in revulsion at the storming of their citadel of democracy in an ugly culmination of a lawless presidency. But despite the outrage perpetrated by Trump supporters, more than 100 of his allies in the House -- a majority of Republicans -- still voted to uphold totally fraudulent claims of election fraud. But shortly before 4 a.m. ET on Thursday morning, Pence read out the final tally of electoral votes — 306 to 232 in the President-elect's favor — as the Constitution and the will of the people triumphed over Trump's stunning attempt at a coup."
Another phone call blunder by Giuliani. Oh Rudy! Giuliani Leaves Voice Mail for Wrong Senator – Begs for Delay to Biden Certification (Audio) Whoops Ross A. Lincoln January 6, 2021 @ 8:38 PM Last Updated: January 7, 2021 @ 6:58 AM Giuliani Leaves Voice Mail for Wrong Senator Begging for Delay to Biden Certification excerpt: "Rudy Giuliani has a long, documented history of embarrassing technological fails. And on Wednesday night he squeezed in another one, this time related to his client Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election that is no less hilarious despite also being unsettling. The former NYC mayor, it seemed, tried to call one of Trump’s Senate allies to beg for more help pulling off what amounts to coup, except whoopsie, he called the wrong senator, who promptly leaked the excruciating voicemail to The Dispatch. More on that momentarily, but you can listen to the full audio above right now. The call came just after the shocking outbreak of violence in Washington, D.C., literally incited by Trump himself, as Trump supporters rioted and then occupied the Capitol building during the period when a joint session of Congress was supposed to be formally certifying Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election. All members of Congress were forced to evacuate — until order was restored hours later."
Transportation secretary Chao resigns. It's the first resignation of a cabinet member since Trump's assault on the Capitol. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao Resigns, Citing Violence At Capitol excerpt: "In resigning, Chao, who is married to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, joins others in Trump's orbit who are leaving the administration: Stephanie Grisham, chief of staff to First Lady Melania Trump, Sarah Matthews, a deputy press secretary, and Matt Pottinger, the deputy national security adviser."
