Based on the constitution and the rule of law, all the republicans can do is to stretch out the debate and delay the vote, but ultimately Biden will win. Still, January 6th is going to be
a long day in the House & Senate and could drag on into January 7th

House Republicans meet with Trump to discuss overturning election results

President Donald Trump huddled with a group of congressional Republicans at the White House on Monday, where they strategized over a last-ditch effort to overturn the election results next month, according to several members who attended the meeting.

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) — who is spearheading the long-shot push to overturn the election results in Congress — organized the trio of White House meetings, which lasted over three hours and included roughly a dozen lawmakers. The group also met with Vice President Mike Pence, who will be presiding over the joint session of Congress when lawmakers officially certify the Electoral College votes on Jan. 6, as well as members of Trump’s legal team.

Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), however, told reporters Monday that the House GOP’s effort is “going down like a shot dog.”

Other members who were in attendance include some of Trump’s staunchest allies on the Hill, such as Rep. Jody Hice (R-Ga.), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) and Rep.-elect Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).

Rudy is in desperate need of a pardon by Trump so he'll do or say anything to further that cause......

Federal prosecutors have discussed making a legal request for Rudy Giuliani’s electronic communications,

Prosecutors for the Southern District of New York have been in communication with Justice Department officials in Washington about gaining access to Giuliani's emails,
the two sources said. The SDNY needs Washington's approval before its prosecutors can ask a judge to sign a search warrant for materials that may be protected by
attorney-client privilege, according to department policy. It is not known whether that approval has been granted by Washington to the SDNY.

Giuliani has been playing a game of acting as an unregistered foreign agent under the guise of being Trump's personal attorney. It has allowed him to plead attorney-client privilege to conceal information that otherwise would have been available.

It's another one of Trump's ways of circumventing transparency and accountability.

Trump had claimed he'd have the most transparent administration ever, which he thinks is spouting remarks on Twitter regularly.

McConnell: Senate to return Dec. 29 for potential Trump veto override vote

    excerpt:

"Senate leaders are likely to face procedural hurdles to getting to a final vote on whether or not to override Trump's veto.

Opponents of overriding the president’s veto could drag out procedural hurdles by forcing a cloture vote, requiring the override effort to initially get 60 votes, according to the Congressional Research Service. To ultimately override in the Senate, as in the House, will require two-thirds support.

GOP senators have previously floated that a final vote could wait until the morning of Jan. 3, before the new Congress is sworn in. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), McConnell's No. 2, warned on Monday night that it could take a "few days" for the Senate to go through all of the legislative hoops."

Strange how that map purports with a US population density map.

It’s almost as If Joe Biden received the majority of votes in the major urban centers and Trump received the majority of his votes from small capital cities, rural and, semi-rural America.

Well I for one am shocked at that revelation

Btw those counties in red only tell who won, not by how many. If Trump won by 1 vote it would be colored in red.- interesting

About half the U.S. population resides in less than 5% of its counties. Most of that population resides in urban areas that tend to vote Democratic.

The current demographic trend in the U.S. appears to be favorable to Democrats in the context of presidential elections. Texas is an example with its large 38 electoral vote representation. The changes are gradually shifting it back to a swing state after being solidly Republican in presidential elections since 1980.

The Republicans in Texas can rely on voter suppression gimmicks (issuing only one ballot drop box per county via a last-ditch proclamation by the Republican governor) only so long before they have to reckon with the demographic reality.

    Big and Small America

    excerpt:

"There is also a notable difference in the rate of growth. “Big-county America is growing nearly twice as fast as small-county America,” Sink said. “They’re not only getting bigger but increasingly more diverse.” Thus, if current trends continue, it’s likely that the divide between big and small will continue to become more pronounced in the future."

United Airlines furloughed around 13,000 workers and laid off roughly 1‚400 management and administrative employees.
Let’s see just how quickly and how many they rehired.

It is a bit weird how divided the vote was along rural vs Urban lines, almost unheard of in any country

Which really just means you have too much of your population living in their own little world in inner city areas

Trump is so insecure; all it takes for someone to gain his appreciation is to say something good about him. After that, you get a medal whether you deserve it or not.
