For you Raygunomics fans, David Hope of the London School of Economics and Julian Limberg of King’s College London, who examined the concept of “supply side economics,” or the “trickle down theory.” This is the economic theory popularized in the 1980s saying it’s best for the economy not to support wages at the bottom of the economy—the demand side—but rather to free up capital at the top—the supply side—because wealthy entrepreneurs will create new jobs and the resulting economic growth will help everyone. This idea has been behind the Republicans’ forty-year commitment to tax cuts for the wealthy. In their study of 18 countries over 50 years, Hope and Limberg concluded that this theory was wrong. Tax cuts do not, they prove, trickle down. They do little to promote growth or create jobs. Instead, they mostly just help the people who get the tax cuts
Comparing Virus Surges excerpt: "The U.S. was not alone in suffering a resurgence this fall. Much of the world did. But many other countries responded to that surge with targeted new restrictions and, in a few cases, with an increase in rapid-result testing. Those measures seem to be working. Worldwide, the number of new cases has fallen over the past week. In some countries, the declines are large: more than 50 percent over the past month in Belgium, France, Italy, Kenya and Saudi Arabia; more than 40 percent in Argentina and Morocco; more than 30 percent in India and Norway. And in the U.S.? The number of new cases has risen 51 percent over the past month. The causes are not a mystery. The U.S. still lacks a coherent testing strategy, and large parts of the country continue to defy basic health advice. One example is Mitchell, a small South Dakota city, where deaths have spiked recently — including the loss of a beloved high school coach. Yet anti-mask protesters continue to undermine the local response."
"Meanwhile, the coronavirus pandemic has meant January's inauguration ceremony will be limited from the usual 200,000-plus crowd down to a crowd resembling the State of the Union." US election latest: Trump tweaks showerhead regulation to make hair 'perfect' Lolz, wouldn't be much of a struggle to limit it to 20,000
Are you trying to impress your own self with this post? Don't you know that all of us heard Biden say he wants a small ceremony for public safety reasons? Have you noticed William Barr gave up on Trump? Have you noticed Mitch McConnell recognized Biden as our new president? Did you see on the news our outward bound vice president will leave immediately after confirming Biden's win over Trump? Have you asked yourself if Trump will be the only person left at the White House on the week before January 20th, of 2021?
Yes, he's a 'pink poodle' troll (I've seen a 'real' photo of him wearing a plastic carrier bag over his face as a mask).
Trump's followers think he is keeping them safe. Trump remains silent as massive cyber hack poses 'grave risk' to government By Kevin Liptak, CNN Updated 6:47 PM ET, Thu December 17, 2020 Trump remains silent as massive cyber hack poses 'grave risk' to government - CNNPolitics excerpt: "(CNN)When President Donald Trump convened his Cabinet at the White House Wednesday as Washington absorbed news of a massive data breach, the heads of most agencies relevant to the intrusion — including the Department of Defense, the State Department, the Justice Department, the director of national intelligence and the Central Intelligence Agency — were absent. After the meeting, Trump said nothing about the attack, which went undetected by his administration's intelligence agencies for months. As those agencies now mobilize to assess the damage — which the government said Thursday could be more widespread than initially thought, posing a "grave risk to the federal government" — the President himself remains silent on the matter, preoccupied instead with his election loss and his invented claims of widespread voter fraud. The massive data breach, revealed in the final weeks of Trump's administration, amounts to a dramatic coda for a presidency clouded by questions of deference to Russia and unsuccessful attempts to warm relations with its President, Vladimir Putin. Just as he has largely ignored the latest surge in coronavirus cases, Trump appears to have all but abdicated responsibility in his final weeks in office."
Barr tried to protect Trump by personally intervening in the case but lost in court. The defense tactic of Barr will be moot when Trump is out of office. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nati...2922a2-40ca-11eb-8bc0-ae155bee4aff_story.html excerpt: "NEW YORK — Lawyers for author E. Jean Carroll, who accused President Trump of raping her years ago and now is suing him for defamation, told a federal court Thursday that she is willing to delay her effort to collect his testimony and DNA in exchange for faster access to other records that relate to her case. The surprise concession comes as the Justice Department continues its fight to represent the president, even though Trump’s days in office are rapidly drawing to a close. The department’s civil division is appealing a ruling by U.S. District Judge A. Lewis Kaplan that excluded its controversial intervention in the case. Kaplan rejected the theory that Trump should be treated as a regular federal employee covered under the Federal Tort Claims Act, and that disparaging Carroll was conduct within the scope of his employment."
Trump's military accomplishments: Avoiding STD during unprotected sex as a civilian while his cohorts fought and died in Vietnam. Labeling tortured Vietnam war hero John McCain a loser for being captured. Snubbing injured and deceased veterans by saying they knew what they signed up for. Canceling a visit to a WWII cemetery because it was raining.
Trump has the support of Ricky Schroder who donated $150,000 to bail out Kyle Rittenhouse. Ricky Schroder says he plans Inauguration Day visit to DC – to rally for Trump or protest Biden
