Trump forgot his forgotten people. As the coronavirus has expanded into the rural areas which mistakenly thought they were safe with Trump protecting them, some of the Trump faithful have become disillusioned and frustrated. Their economies have been damaged by Trump's unending trade wars which have forced some of them to accept what amounts to welfare checks directly from Trump, a behavior once considered unbecoming by the agricultural community in decades past. That is a difficult pill to swallow for rural people who claim to be independent and not wanting to be told what to do, such as abiding by virus safety guidelines for a virus that they mistakenly thought was benign. Trump's trade wars and his dismissive attitude toward the coronavirus made rural communities that were already disadvantaged more vulnerable to damage by the virus. Trump told his supporters to not be afraid of the coronavirus after being airlifted to the hospital via a military helicopter, receiving otherwise unavailable treatments for free via special compassionate use (as did Trump's cohorts Giuliani, Christie, and Carson via a Trump request). While still infected, he had the cosmopolitcan luxury of being able to do a joy ride around the hospital in his presidential limo after he signed some blank papers to make himself look busy to his supporters in rural America that photo timestamps show occurred right before his joyride. He has no comprehension of the plight of the rural community's vulnerability to the coronavirus and how it has decimated some of them economically and socially. He could have safely and intelligently visited such disadvantaged places to assess and improve them but instead chose to do rock star rallies in them to bolster his ego. They became virus spreader events with his own Herman Cain dying of the coronavirus after attending his failed rally in Tulsa which he haplessly blamed on China, the target of his trade wars that have damaged rural America. Rural America Has Been Forgotten During the Coronavirus Crisis By Olugbenga Ajilore October 28, 2020, 9:05 am Rural America Has Been Forgotten During the Coronavirus Crisis - Center for American Progress excerpt: "In addition to the macro numbers showing the continuing rise in new cases, there are the individual stories that do not get told about rural America. Stories about the workers in occupations deemed essential, who die without any recompense or support from agencies whose duty it is to protect them. The story of Marco Antonio Galvan Gomez, a farmworker who after contracting the virus was forced to continuing working in 100-degree conditions and as a tragic consequence died from the disease. Unfortunately, his story is all too common. However, the impact of COVID-19 in rural areas is now no longer limited to farms, meatpacking plants, prisons, and nursing homes. What is being seen now is that many other residents in rural communities are experiencing new highs in COVID-19 cases. This issue brief provides an update on the pandemic in rural counties, focusing on the spread of the virus and its impact on rural economies. While rural communities of color continue to experience the worst of the outbreak, now other rural communities—most notably in the upper Midwest and Great Plains regions—are experiencing severe outbreaks, with the trends going in the wrong direction. It is a situation that requires policymakers to act and provide relief to households, businesses, and state and local governments."
This is precisely because some people are extremely GULLIBLE. They can't see the forest for the trees - even when branches are slapping them in the face. "I don't see no trees or forest either."
I read the same article and to be honest I don't care where they settle as long as it's no longer in the white house.
A day before the Electoral College votes, Trump appears to make a veiled threat to swing states and electors. Day Before Electoral College Meets, Trump Tweets That Certifying Votes Will Be a ‘Severely Punishable Crime’ (It’s Not) By Sarah Rumpf Dec 13th, 2020, 9:45 pm Trump Tweets Certifying Votes Is 'Severely Punishable Crime' excerpts: "Trump began his tweets claiming that “all” of the swing states had found “massive VOTER FRAUD.” They have not; the Trump campaign and his various allies have now lost over fifty lawsuits, getting tossed out of courts in multiple states and even smacked down by the Supreme Court. Many of these judicial blows have come at the gavel of Republican-appointed judges, even some whom Trump himself appointed." "Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump Swing States that have found massive VOTER FRAUD, which is all of them, CANNOT LEGALLY CERTIFY these votes as complete & correct without committing a severely punishable crime."
It's sure going to be a really interesting seeing how it all unfolds after Trump leaves the Whitehouse. It's undoubtedly that Trump has broken many laws, it's seeing what the prosecutors go after first, how far will Trump's money go in fighting multiple big lawsuits and how many will stick. What would also be interesting is, while committing all of these crimes, all the people who had a part in it were protected by his presidency. Once out of office, they will sure to be much more free with the truth in order to protect themselves against prosecution themselves.
I'm sure it's not going to be terribly interesting, Trump goes play golf, Biden falls asleep at his inauguration, twice as many Covid deaths in 2021
Actually, I hear she’s interested in running for US Senate. If she does it’s solely on looks and name recognition, because there’s not much going on upstairs..lol..
You have been crapping on about this stuff for 4 years, most he is going to get in NY is a fine, and it's the only case against him Meanwhile, the reasons your life is the way it is, is mostly your fault
Vaccines don't prevent diseases. Vaccinations do. The biggest threat to the White House vaccination plan might be Donald Trump himself excerpt: "Trump's supporters tend to harbour more scepticism towards vaccines and, before them, masks too. If anyone could sway their attitude towards immunisation, Trump would wield more influence than most, but his active advocacy for jabs is rather muted. He lauds the vaccine as a "miracle" in its development rather than a necessity in its injection. It's one of many paradoxes of this pandemic, which was met from the Oval Office with denial and inaction. In turn, it destroyed not only lives and the economy, but maybe also the Trump presidency itself. If the brilliant minds behind Operation Warp Speed pull off all the promise of their "mission impossible" it would stand as an outstanding public health achievement with an enduring legacy. But the man who gets the credit may well be Biden."
Trump said that there wouldn't have been a coronavirus vaccine for five years if it hadn't been for him. The first vaccine that is being distributed in the U.S. is the Pfizer vaccine. It was developed by Pfizer and the German company BioNTech without money from the U.S. government.
Total misrepresentation of that article: ANALYSIS Donald Trump's experts talk a big game about the vaccine rollout plan. We're about to find out if it's all hype By Greg Jennett in Washington DC Posted 3ddays ago, updated 3ddays ago A government advisory panel convened on Thursday to decide whether to recommend the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for approval.(ABC News: Niall Lenihan) Share A lot has gone epically wrong for 15 million Americans to get infected with COVID-19. A lot needs to go spectacularly right if the remaining 315 million are going to be made immune to the disease. Officially titled Operation Warp Speed, the White House vaccination plan has been masterminded by a constellation of America's best and brightest in the fields of science, medicine, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, transport, information technology and logistics. Like their President, the men and women behind this project like to talk a big game. "We take the impossible and we make it possible," Paul Mango from the Department of Health and Human Services said, echoing Donald Trump's claims that this is "one of the greatest miracles in the history of modern medicine". The difference between the President and his team of experts is that the second group is putting their credibility and reputation on the line — two constraints to hyperbole that Trump has never been bound by. Somehow — against every sceptical instinct we should apply to Trump's sweeping pandemic claims — there is something irresistibly audacious about the plan he's sponsored. Catch up on the main COVID-19 news from December 14 with our coronavirus blog. With a panel of outside advisers to the US Food and Drug Administration voting to endorse emergency use of Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine, paving the way for the agency to authorise the shot, we are about to find out whether all the confidence was well-founded or just another exercise in flaky marketing from people who should have known better. Goal to vaccinate roughly a third of the US population in three months Operation Warp Speed shouldn't be given too much credit for the research and development of the Pfizer vaccine, which the US Food and Drug Administration is likely to authorise in the next few days. Unlike the other big pharma companies, Pfizer received no research funding from Operation Warp Speed. President of Global Healthcare at United Parcel Service Wesley Wheeler holds up an example of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine vial.(Reuters: Samuel Corum) Instead, the United States paid the company and its partner, BioNTech, $US2 billion to manufacture 100 million doses. That leaves five other gambles still spinning on the roulette wheel. What COVID-19 vaccines mean for global travel in 2021 Seoul labelled a 'COVID-19 warzone' as South Korea considers lockdown What's being done to prevent coronavirus spreading through the air in Victorian quarantine hotels? Operation Warp Speed does not contemplate failure, or blowing a chunk of its enormous $US10 billion budget. An "impossible" mission wouldn't have got this far if anyone in charge accepted the premise of certain failure. Instead, it is propelled by a mind-boggling ambition to reach a "mission accomplished" moment: hundreds of millions of rapid "shots in arms". Trump's top vaccine adviser Moncef Slaoui helpfully laid down the key metrics against which Operation Warp Speed will now be judged: "We can immunise 20 million people in December. Thirty million in January. Fifty million in February." So, yep, the goal is to vaccinate roughly one third of the nation's population in three months. The US military will oversee distribution logistics in a unique public-private partnership The US Army's four-star General Gustave Perna will pick up the load that scientists hand over once pallets of vaccines start moving. The distribution and logistics side of this operation is on a scale far beyond anything the well-resourced Pentagon machine could ever handle itself, so a unique public-private national partnership is in place. It's questionable whether Paxton earned a pardon from Trump now that his lawsuit failed in the U.S. Supreme Court. Trump-loving Texas Republicans one up one another with election and secession insanity It seems even partisan PR stunts are bigger in the Lone Star State. By Susan Del Percio, Republican strategist and senior adviser to the Lincoln Project Dec. 14, 2020, 4:32 AM EST Opinion | What Texas Republicans' unhinged election stunts are really about excerpt: "If Paxton was hoping such a move would earn him the attention and adoration of the chief executive, he was right. Trump was delighted and asked to join the lawsuit, which was rejected by the Supreme Court just a few days later, on Friday evening. It should be noted that legal experts from all over the country said from the beginning that this case would go nowhere, was frivolous and was nothing more than a legal stunt. Trump has not addressed the whispers about a potential pardon for Paxton. But either way, the Texas official still has to deal with a 2015 indictment regarding securities fraud charges. And Paxton isn’t the only Texan willing to sink to new political lows. Recently, Republican state Rep. Kyle Biedermann announced that he will introduce legislation to allow Texas to secede from the nation. His reason? “The federal government is out of control and does not represent the values of Texans.”"
With a final push on judges, McConnell will cement a lasting legacy for Trump They're young. They're conservative. And they'll shape American law for generations. By Sahil Kapur Dec. 14, 2020, 4:30 AM EST McConnell plans final push to confirm Trump judges and seal his legacy excerpt: "In less than four years, Trump has named 53 circuit judges — nearly as many as the 55 that Obama appointed in his eight years. Trump’s judges have flipped the majority to Republican appointees on numerous circuits. While Obama’s nominees brought unprecedented racial and gender diversity to the bench, Trump’s picks are predominantly white and male. “We have yet to see the full ramifications of these 200-plus judges, appointed in an unprecedented rush to remake the courts in the image of the far-right fringe of the Republican Party,” said Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., a member of the Judiciary Committee. Americans “will feel their impact” for decades, said Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii. She predicted challenges to LGBTQ rights, civil rights, voting rights and abortion access."
True, but there are still a lot of old federal judges out there that will retire within the next four years and Biden will get his share of appointees. It generally evens out. Lets just hopes Biden has the vision to appoint younger judges to the bench, unlike some of his cabinet picks
Al Gore says he has no regrets over conceding 2000 race to Bush. Will Trump take the hint? excerpt: “It’s hard to escape the interpretation that they’re frightened that President Trump will tweet them into political oblivion if they don’t do exactly what he says,” Gore said of the many Republican attorneys general and House lawmakers who had backed the quixotic Texas case. “But you know there are things that are more important than bowing to the fear of a demagogue.”
Since this vaccine has to be stored at -70 o C, either Wesley Wheeler has seriously burnt fingers or the contents of that phial isn't the real vacccine.
