McCarthy represents Bakersfield. You ever been to Bakersfield? It’s like Alabama, but worse. McCarthy is another loser who sucks on the tax payer’s teat. I am really surprised he keeps getting re-elected, given the changing demographics.

Somewhere I read that at the last minute, yesterday, trump was going to plead his case before the SCOTUS, instead of Rafael Cruz. That would have been a hoot.
Trump: Amy, Neil, Brett I gave you a job, do it.

Deadliest place in America: They shrugged off the pandemic, then their family and friends started dying
    Trevor Hughes, USA TODAY
    Published 3:01 a.m. ET Dec. 12, 2020
    Updated 10:29 a.m. ET Dec. 12, 2020

COVID deaths highest in US in rural Republican-leaning Kansas county

    excerpt:

"Even today, mask-wearing remains controversial in Gove County, and friendships are being strained as authorities struggle to persuade their neighbors to follow basic public health guidelines, such as avoiding large gatherings.

President Donald Trump won the county with 88% of the vote in November, and many of the residents, including the farmers who raise up corn and sorghum, are deeply skeptical of government and public health orders, often echoing the language Trump has used about mask-wearing and the pandemic's severity."

Let them secede. I am sure that with states like W. Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, etc. they will have a robust economy. . . . . Not. What these red state politicians like to forget is that the blue states are their bread and butter.

I’m telling you, he’s not from Australia.
There’s absolutely no way that VG could have that much vested interest in what’s going on in the US, if he truly was an Aussie. Very suspect. He’s posted like an avid Trump supporter, living right here in the good ol USofA!!!

COVID deaths highest in US in rural Republican-leaning Kansas county

    excerpt:

"He said the pandemic's late arrival in Gove County gave residents time to grow tired of the public health warnings, especially when early statistics showed Black, Latino and indigenous Americans are four times more likely to be hospitalized for COVID-19 than white Americans, and are more than 2.5 nearly times more likely to die from it. Gove County is 93% white. Nursing home residents account for about 40% of all COVID-19 deaths, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation.

"Rural America has always been insulated to some degree to the problems that plague more urban areas," Rempel says. "I think that gave some people a false sense of security. I think there was maybe a public perception we would be OK. But if you had asked any of the healthcare providers, we were all worried."

Rempel says it's likely a staff member brought COVID-19 into the nursing home. During the worst of the crisis, he and his staff struggled to find bigger hospitals — the closest is 50 miles away — to which they could send the sickest patients from Gove County, a challenge that federal health officials had been warning of for months."

Some of the Trump faithful think it's a simple matter to transfer coronavirus patients to other hospitals when a locality becomes overwhelmed. They mistakenly think that any region of a state isn't in a dire situation as long as the average hospital occupancy for the state as a whole hasn't yet reached 100%.

That impact into the boulder at the end was Trump's loss at the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday after a long string of losses.

Most US voters don't want Trump to run in 2024 and 42% say he is 'one of the worst presidents' ever, Fox News poll finds

Most US voters don't want Trump to run in 2024 and 42% say he is 'one of the worst presidents' ever, Fox News poll finds

    excerpts:

"With regards to whether Trump should run again in 2024, it's a negative from the majority of voters. 57% would rather somebody else leads the GOP into the next election.

It's a different picture among Republicans. Seventy-nine percent of Trump voters would like him to run again and 71% of registered Republicans would too. Just 10% of Democrats and 27% of independents hope to see him at the top of the ticket again."

"Fifty-six percent of voters think Trump's legal efforts to overturn the result of the election have weakened democracy - 66% of Republicans, however, think it has strengthened it."

I'm surprised he has the guts to show his face around here, after the latest failed coup attempt by his hero. Shameless.

Trump vows to continue to fight.

Trump flays former allies, calls to ‘fight on’ after Supreme Court defeat

    excerpts:

"“Who is a worse governor, @BrianKempGA of Georgia or @dougducey of Arizona???,” Trump said of the Republicans he'd previously endorsed. “They allowed states that I won easily to be stolen. Never forget, vote them out of office!”

He took aim in several quickfire tweets at Attorney General William Barr, retweeting a radio host's call for him to fire the nation's top law enforcement official and pillorying Barr over the DOJ's ongoing investigation of Hunter Biden."

"Supporters of the president on Saturday plan to protest alleged voter fraud in the streets of Washington, D.C., in a "Stop the Steal" rally headlined by some of Trump's most outspoken allies, including former national security adviser Michael Flynn, MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones."

Another 'stop the steal' march in DC.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/loca...5af818-3bdb-11eb-bc68-96af0daae728_story.html

    excerpt:

"With waving flags, air horns and chants of “four more years,” protesters who refuse to accept that President-elect Joe Biden won the election are rallying Saturday in the streets of Washington. Hundreds of people across three locations gathered to show support for the president, two days before the electoral college votes to make his 306-to-232 loss official.

Michael Flynn, Trump’s recently pardoned national security adviser, appeared on the steps of the Supreme Court to encourage the crowds to keep hope.

“Don’t get bent out of shape,” Flynn said. “There are still avenues ... We’re fighting with faith and we’re fighting with courage.”"

I find that figure problematic. I’d say it’s closer to 60%.

He may be from Australia, but he’s living in the States. There was a thread, a while back, where he alluded to living in Montana.
