In the olden days, if someone was this delusional, people would come, put you in a straight jacket, and take you to a psych ward.
Trump tweet Nov. 21: “Why is Joe Biden so quickly forming a Cabinet when my investigators have found hundreds of thousands of fraudulent votes, enough to ‘flip’ at least four States, which in turn is more than enough to win the Election? Hopefully the Courts and/or Legislatures will have the COURAGE to do what has to be done to maintain the integrity of our Elections, and the United States of America itself. THE WORLD IS WATCHING!!!” Vacanci de crania.
Trump and his people have been avoiding facing questions. White House press secretary McEnany did her first briefing in 7 weeks. Trump is in an unprecedented streak of silence - CNN excerpt: "It's not just Trump who is avoiding the press. Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller hasn't fielded any questions, despite the White House's decision to draw down troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. And Vice President Mike Pence has taken no questions, despite his role as head of the Coronavirus Task Force. "It's a broader effort throughout the entire government," said CNN White House Correspondent Kaitlan Collins on "Reliable Sources" Sunday. People who work closely with Trump don't want to answer questions about what the president is doing because he's still attempting to overturn the results of the election behind the scenes -- and know they'll face questions about the president's efforts, to which they have no answers, Collins added. "Officials are refusing to either comment on this or put themselves in a situation where they know they would be asked about this right off the bat from reporters," Collins said. White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany showed up to a press briefing on Friday, her first one in seven weeks. At the end, she refused to take a question from Collins, calling her an "activist.""
The Trump administration didn't consult with Congress or NATO before instituting the troop reduction.
Michigan House speaker floats possibility of 'constitutional crisis' excerpt: "Lansing — Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield referenced the possibility of a "constitutional crisis" during an interview on Fox News Sunday morning, two days after he huddled with President Donald Trump at the White House. The Board of State Canvassers meets Monday to consider certifying Michigan's statewide election results, including President-elect Joe Biden's 154,000-vote victory. But top Republican Party leaders have asked the board to delay certification in a bid to investigate "anomalies and irregularities" they claimoccurred on Nov. 3. The board features two Republicans and two Democrats. Many legal experts believe the panel has a duty, under Michigan law, to certify the results Monday. "If there were to be a 2-2 split on the State Board of Canvassers, it would then go to the Michigan Supreme Court to determine what their response would be, what their order would be," Chatfield, R-Levering said on "Fox & Friends" Sunday. "If they didn't have an order that it be certified, well now we have a constitutional crisis in the state of Michigan. It's never occurred before.""
Michigan House speaker floats possibility of 'constitutional crisis' excerpt: "If the board certifies the results, under state law, Michigan's 16 electoral votes will go Biden, who won the state by 14 times the margin Trump won by four years ago. The Electoral College meets on Dec. 14. Many legal experts believe if the board doesn't certify the results, the courts will order the results be certified. State Sen. Jeremy Moss, D-Southfield, referenced this expectation, highlighting a 2005 Court of Appeals ruling where the panel was forced to certify a petition. "GOP leaders know this, instead choosing to sow doubt," Moss tweeted. "But our system will work.""
The Michigan state canvassing panel that is to vote on Monday is a different panel than the Wayne County canvassing panel where two Republicans, Monica Palmer and William Hartmann, intially didn't want to certify, then later voted to certify, and then subsequently tried to rescind the votes with an affidavit. But the Michigan state panel has the same composition: two Republicans and two Democrats.
Unbalanced books of a few hundred votes per nearly a million isn't evidence of massive voter fraud in MI. Selectively trying to discard hundreds of thousands of votes in the Detroit area that were predominantly for Biden isn't a remedy. Judge Brann in PA ruled against Trump for the same type of tactic the Trump campaign has been using in PA. GOP canvassers try to rescind votes to certify Wayne County vote excerpt: "While Detroit has struggled with election issues, experts said the unbalanced poll books referenced by canvassers Tuesday — which also were bigger issues in the 2016 general election and August primary — are not proof of voter fraud and are more a result of human error. The affidavits follow a long, roller coaster meeting Tuesday, where canvassers were told that 70% of Detroit's 134 absentee counting boards were out of balance by one to more than four votes. During Tuesday's meeting, an elections official said countywide, the precincts were out of balance by a few hundred votes in a county that saw 878,000 votes total on Nov. 3. The Democratic stronghold county backed Biden over Trump 68%-31%."
To endlessly repeat---: there's absolutely no shame in these people! You'd think there might even be a little embarrassment at continuing to be so fucking stupid!!!!!
Morgues overflowing in El Paso. In Trump's perception, a benign outcome of increased testing. Texas National Guard deployed to help El Paso with morgue overflow excerpt: "El Paso County was paying prison inmates $2 an hour to move the bodies of deceased COVID victims. Prison labor isn't unusual, but videos of inmates wearing striped jumpsuits loading plastic-wrapped bodies onto refrigerated trucks sparked concerns about their treatment during the surge in virus cases, especially as outbreaks of COVID-19 in prisons have been a recurring issue throughout the pandemic."
Expected response of Trump and his supporters: "It's not problem. The hospital occupancy on average statewide in Texas is still less than 100%. Texas National Guard deployed to help El Paso with morgue overflow excerpt: "El Paso health officials reported nearly 1,074 new COVID-19 cases and eight deaths on Saturday, bringing the totals to 80,291 cases and 853 fatalities, according to the city and county COVID-19 dashboard. Intensive care units across the city and county are so overwhelmed with COVID patients that they're flying the infected to other Texas cities in order to save lives, CBS News correspondent Omar Villafranca reported earlier this week. Brock Miller, a spokesperson for ambulance airline AirMed International, said 50% of the company's flights are now related to COVID-19."
It's also supposedly not a problem that patients are receiving bills on the order of tens of thousands of dollars for helicopter transports to other hospitals due to local overcrowding, bills that aren't necessarily covered by their insurance because the flight company wasn't within their health insurance network (assuming the patients even have insurance). The copays for transport and ICU bills are difficult for many people to pay even when they have a good insurance policy.
Such transport bills and $50,000 ICU care that some people can't even afford to pay the copay (assuming they even have insurance) are being paid by someone eventually, such as insurance holders or the government which eventually may pay for it with U.S. taxpayer money. Some of the morbidity, death, medical expenses, and economic damage could have been avoided if the White House had encouraged people to take precautions against the virus and if a portion of the public hadn't laughed off the virus and revolted against simple safety guidelines that are effective yet perceived as a terrible violation of one's rights.
Republican canvassing member says he won't certify MI election result. Key GOP Michigan canvassing board member expected to vote against certifying results - CNNPolitics A key Republican on the Michigan canvassing board is expected to vote against certifying the state's election results on Monday, a potential boon for the Trump campaign's conspiracy theory-fueled effort to delay the finalization of results. According to Michigan GOP Rep. Paul Mitchell, who said he spoke days ago with Norman Shinkle, one of the two GOP members on the board, Shinkle indicated last week he would vote against certifying the election results until an investigation is completed so as to push a delay even though there is no evidence of fraud or malfeasance that would necessitate such a move. Shinkle told the New York Times that he had received hundreds of messages both favoring and opposing certification."
Beautiful but state law provides no such avenue. Michigan law says the certification must take place first before an audit. The Republicans want an audit on only the Black areas, not the entire state. If it does go to court, that would have to be a Michigan court. Governor Whitmer will be on top of this and might even replace the problem canvasser.
Key GOP Michigan canvassing board member expected to vote against certifying results - CNNPolitics excerpt: "Depending on how Aaron Van Langevelde, the other GOP member of the board, casts his vote, Mitchell told CNN either members of the Trump team end up delaying the certification of the election results or they have something that they can point to as evidence of unfairness, even if it isn't. Van Langevelde's family told CNN he would have no comment on his expected vote. "It's a win-win" for the Trump team, Mitchell said, since it will either be able to delay the inevitable President-elect Joe Biden transition process or have more ammo to falsely claim Trump won the election."
Trump dumps Sidney Powell who joined on Nov. 14. Trump and Giuliani can now claim she was never really an official member of the team. Trump campaign cuts Sidney Powell from president’s legal team
