Scott Atlas tells the people of Michigan to rise up against the new health measures being issued. Trump coronavirus adviser Scott Atlas urges Michigan to 'rise up' against new Covid-19 measures By Paul LeBlanc and Jeremy Diamond, CNN Updated 8:28 PM ET, Sun November 15, 2020 Scott Atlas: Trump coronavirus adviser urges Michigan to 'rise up' against new Covid-19 measures - CNNPolitics excerpt: "White House coronavirus task force member Dr. Scott Atlas criticized Michigan's new Covid-19 restrictions in a tweet shortly after they were announced Sunday evening, urging people to "rise up" against the new public health measures. "The only way this stops is if people rise up," Atlas said. "You get what you accept. #FreedomMatters #StepUp" His message -- which runs counter to the consensus of public health officials -- is likely to fuel new tension between the White House and Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, whom federal and state officials announced last month was the target of an alleged domestic terrorism kidnapping plot."
The Trump campaign scales back its PA lawsuit significantly. https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...ab8048-279b-11eb-9b14-ad872157ebc9_story.html excerpt: "President Trump’s campaign on Sunday scrapped a major part of its federal lawsuit challenging the election results in Pennsylvania. Trump’s attorneys filed a revised version of the lawsuit, removing allegations that election officials violated the Trump campaign’s constitutional rights by limiting the ability of their observers to watch votes being counted. Trump and Rudolph W. Giuliani, his personal attorney, have said repeatedly that more than 600,000 votes in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh should be invalidated because of this issue. Trump’s pared-down lawsuit now focuses on allegations that Republicans were illegally disadvantaged because some Democratic-leaning counties allowed voters to fix errors on their mail ballots. Counties have said this affected only a small number of votes."
Statements from Trump are becoming increasingly deranged. Trump, Trying to Cling to Power, Fans Unrest and Conspiracies The president’s refusal to concede has entered a more dangerous phase as he blocks his successor’s transition, withholding intelligence briefings, pandemic information and access to the government. By Michael D. Shear Nov. 15, 2020, 8:17 p.m. ET Trump, Trying to Cling to Power, Fans Unrest and Conspiracies excerpt: "The president’s attempt to cling to power played out against a backdrop of protests by Trump supporters and opponents late Saturday, with sporadic clashes near the White House. The police arrested 21 people as one protester was stabbed and four officers were injured. Rather than seek to calm tensions, Mr. Trump lashed out. “ANTIFA SCUM ran for the hills,” he posted on Twitter on Saturday as he urged the police to move in aggressively. “DC Police, get going — do your job and don’t hold back!!!”"
After 112 days in lockdown Melbourne Australia went from 725 cases in one day to now having zero new cases and zero deaths for 17 days in a row..are you listening Atlas ?
Yes there was a small vocal group of former Venezuelans who embraced Maduro, but the vast majority of BLM protesters which numbered anywhere from 15-25 million likely had/have no idea who he is. The right wing media sees a few BLM protesters carrying the Venezuelan flag or wearing a T-Shirt with a picture of former President Chavez or Che Guevara, and suddenly there are conspiracy theories galore
I have a friend who has an advanced degree in clinical psychology. He says people, like trump, who believe in conspiracy theories suffer from severe personality disorders which are symptoms of mental illness.
it's ironic that these right wingers believe that liberals are commies, but have no problem supporting a guy who has business dealings with a communist government.
When Nixon went to China in 1972 and sat down with Chairman Mao that was historic. In 2018 when Trump met with tin-plated dictator Kim Jong-un in Singapore that was a joke, and the second summit in 2019 was nothing more than a farce - nothing was accomplished
Now, Remember Nixon was a Republican, so I don't say this lightly, but how the hell was that historic, China was a third world country back then
VG was scoffing at the idea of civil war. The largest militia in the U.S., the Oath Keepers, seems to have taken a step in that direction by vowing to resist Biden as our lawfully elected president. These people are armed and dangerous, and if they act on this proposal should be dealt with as insurrectionists. Obviously Trump is directly responsible for stirring these assholes up with his talk about the election being stolen--a claim for which there is, thus far, no more evidence than that Obama was born in Kenya. Largest right-wing militia group in US will refuse to recognise Biden as president, leader says
One million new coronavirus cases in the U.S. in six days and Trump's virus advisor Scott Atlas (who essentially replaced Fauci and Birx) is telling people to defy public health measures. Atlas should be urgently telling people to rise up and participate in social distancing practices to avoid a runaway virus situation that requires additional safety measures to be imposed (measures that he's now protesting).
Scott Atlas is going to need to tell the people of various states besides MI to rise up and defy social distancing measures if he wants to be consistent. Even reluctant governors are issuing more stringent health measures. It isn't surprising that Atlas targeted Michigan which has been a popular punching bag for Trump. Trump lost Michigan by about 145,000 votes. Coronavirus Surge, 2020 Election, the Masters: Your Weekend Briefing Here’s what you need to know about the week’s top stories. By Remy Tumin and Judith Levitt Nov. 15, 2020, 6:17 a.m. ET excerpt: "With no direction from the White House on how to respond to worsening outbreaks, even some previously reluctant governors are imposing restrictions. Gov. Doug Burgum of North Dakota, which has critically understaffed hospitals and the highest per capita rates for new coronavirus cases and deaths in the U.S., put in place a mask mandate and new limits on indoor dining. Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico announced the nation’s most sweeping statewide measure of the fall season, issuing a two-week “stay at home” order to begin on Monday; Gov. Kate Brown of Oregon placed the state in a partial lockdown for two weeks starting on Wednesday. These are the restrictions and mask mandates for all 50 states. President Trump, in his first public address since losing re-election, made no acknowledgment of the rising coronavirus numbers. President-elect Joe Biden called the federal response to the surge “woefully lacking” and urged Mr. Trump to do more."
Scott Atlas later tried to defend his 'rise up' statement by saying he wasn't promoting violence. As if that's any consolation for his scoffing at health measures that are trying to prevent a runaway virus situation that's killing about 1,200 people per day in the U.S.
Trump made a blase, passing remark that more tests will reveal more cases at the Rose Garden event on Friday, which was another praise-fest for him. It showed he doesn't care about the current situation and is hoping for a vaccine to quickly solve everything.
