Trump apparently wants Chad Wolf confirmed before before he leaves office.

DHS has been a mess since Trump started his term.

Trump administration renews push to confirm Wolf amid concerns over legitimacy and agency purge - CNNPolitics

    excerpt:

"The latest push is emblematic of how the Department of Homeland Security has operated for the last four years. Over the course of Donald Trump's presidency, DHS -- the third-largest federal department -- has had five secretaries, only two of whom have been confirmed by the Senate, and has run into a flurry of questions over the legitimacy and authority of those leading in acting capacities.

As leaders came and went, DHS was thrust to the forefront of some of Trump's most controversial policies, including the "zero tolerance" policy, which led to the separation of thousands of families at the US-Mexico border, and a series of policies that have made it exceedingly difficult for migrants to seek asylum in the US, among other changes to the immigration system."

This thread will die the moment trump is removed from office.

Then some pundit can start a new one with a different focus.

US election security officials reject Trump's fraud claims

    excerpt:

"The announcement from US election officials marks the most direct rebuttal from federal and state officials of President Trump's unsubstantiated claims of election fraud.

Thursday's joint statement was released by the Election Infrastructure Government Co-ordinating Council - which is made up of senior officials from the Department of Homeland Security and the US Election Assistance Commission as well as state-level officials who oversee elections and representatives of the voting machine industry.

"The November 3rd election was the most secure in American history. Right now, across the country, election officials are reviewing and double checking the entire election process prior to finalizing the result," the group said.

"While we know there are many unfounded claims and opportunities for misinformation about the process of our elections, we can assure you we have the utmost confidence in the security and integrity of our elections, and you should too," it added, without naming Mr Trump directly."

I watch the DW(German) news network. They have english speaking news people, and the news anchor is an American. Anyway, they interviewed the European head of a group of election officials who were in the states monitoring the election. He said there was no evidence of fraud.

Recounts that flip an election result are rare in the U.S.

US election 2020: Does this compare to 2000 Florida recount?

    excerpt:

"Mr Trump currently tails Mr Biden by thousands or tens of thousands of votes in the contested states.

In Georgia, Mr Trump is behind by about 14,000 votes. That is small enough to warrant an automatic recount, as per state laws, but it is considered highly unlikely that the result will flip.

There have been three reversals through recounts - a Minnesota Senate race in 2008, the election of a Washington governor in 2004, and a Vermont auditor's race in 2006 - and in each case the initial margin was fewer than 500 votes."

We should have seen this coming when Trump was elected in 2016. This is a variation of birtherism. Remember how he kept up that baseless claim about Obama's citizenship long after it became clear to every intelligent person there was no there there? And he had a core of poor suckers who believed it, as some still do. (I know some of them). The whole idea was to de-legitimize the duly elected president. Same with this. It's a psychological phenomenon worthy of a Ph.D. dissertation.

Trump finally admitted Obama was born in the U.S.

Trump made the statement at an event at the Trump hotel in DC which he suckered the news media into attending to promote his new hotel by saying it would be a press event about Obama's birth place.

After a lengthy promotion of his hotel, he ended the PR event by claiming Hillary was the one who started the Obama birtherism movement.

That's Right! That's right VG, Trump lost. I'm so glad you agree! This is a wonderful day in America. I plan to keep participation in this thread because I want to share information with my buddies about Trump's criminal charges. I think of Trump as Bill Cosby's room mate from now on.

Tell that to Moscow Mitch, Lindsey Graham, Kevin McCarthy, Louie Gohmert, and the rest of the retainers of our naked emperor who are still marveling at his wonderful wardrobe. As long as our democracy continues to be under attack from this crew, Trump continues to challenge the legitimacy of our government, and trolls like you continue to fish in troubled waters, it would be foolish to become complacent.

So here's one for you. Why do you continue to support this loser?

Stantic's big data analysis that he published on October 22, 2020 predicted a Trump win.

For that publication date, his prediction about Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, and Iowa was correct but not other states such as Georgia, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Arizona that he thought Trump would win enough of to attain 270 electoral votes.

His data analysis identified critical states, as opinion polls did, but was off slightly.

Opinion polls predicted Biden as the winner but in general overestimated his state win margins (as Michael Moore predicted).

Big data analysis coupled with opinion polls would be a two-modality approach of trying to predict elections. Each has assets and liabilities.

Trump will win US election with 270-280 seats: Data analyst | Sky News Australia

    excerpt:

"Trump has 161 seats which are very firm and 19 which is sure, which brings him to 180. He, according to my analysis - which was on September 20 - he was just ahead in Florida, Iowa, North Carolina and Ohio, which gives him 68 seats. "He was likely to win Georgia, which took him to 264 and Pennsylvania, Arizona and Minnesota were a coin toss, so basically, on probability, it's likely he will win one of these three seats and that will take him to 270-280 seats." Mr Stantic said he would do a deeper analysis the week before the US election, having only performed a brief draft analysis, especially since President Trump became infected with COVID-19.

On the same note: Trump's lawyers quit working for him after the judge asked, "What kind 'o fool deal is this?"

If Joe Biden's margin of victory in the popular vote was 3 million like it was for Hillary Clinton back in 2016,
Trump would have easily won re-election.

But he didn't because Biden's margin of victory was over 5 million votes (currently 5.2 million)
he simply overwhelmed the Trump vote.

Biden's 2020 win can be attributed to winning the electorally significant Great Lakes states of WI, MI, and PA which Trump had won by narrow margins in 2016.

Biden also won GA and AZ, which was less expected.

The last Democratic presidential candidate to win AZ was Clinton in 1996. The last to win GA was Clinton in 1992.

Not surprisingly, Trump has focused his post-election efforts on trying to flip WI, MI, PA, GA, and AZ. All of those states have legislatures (both house and senate) controlled by Republicans.
