The best-case scenario for Trump if he loses is a close election where an electoral count victory hinges on just one or a few electorally significant swing states with Republican-controlled legislatures that could assign their own electors at his request.

The fewer states to contest, the better Trump can concentrate his legal army

Trump may not try such a tactic and Republican-controlled state legislatures may not do what he wants out of fear of an intense backlash from the voting public. But his failed voter fraud commission, his recent statements about alleged election fraud, and his long history of trying to circumvent established norms and laws doesn't give much reason to think that he wouldn't attempt it or other similar types of tactics if he loses.

Coronavirus cases rise in 22 states

    The coronavirus is surging again

    excerpt:

"What's next: There's every reason to believe the next several months will be a particularly high-risk period.

Colder weather will cause people to move indoors, where the virus spreads more easily. People will travel and see friends and family over the holidays. Mask adherence is already only so-so. And flu season will set in at the same time.

The best way to manage that risk is to enter into it with a low number of cases.

The NIH's Anthony Fauci has said cases should ideally be below 10,000 per day heading into the fall. But we haven't been able to consistently keep them under 40,000.

The bottom line: The U.S. is racing toward a vaccine, and doctors are getting better at treating the virus. But Americans, overall, are pretty bad at doing the simple things necessary to contain the virus, save lives and make us all safer."

Trump's Tax files have been exposed by Time. He is in a heap of trouble. The article says he paid no tax in 11 out of 18 years. In his first 2 years as president he only paid $750 in income tax for each. The article says there are 18 areas being looked into. He took a questionable $72.9 million refund which does not look legit and has been flagged for audit, according to the report? It says he took a deduction of $70,000 for hair styling. It also says he gave Ivanka consulting fees. There is stuff about his casino losses which have been flagged. There is a section on a property in New York which he claimed to be an investment but Eric had said publicly that it was their family compound. So far there has not been anything on connections to Russia but the article said he owes lots of money and loans are due. You can bet Mary Trump's lawyer will be all over this, just like Cyrus Vance. Wow! the next 36 days are going to be circus!

do you still like him? I think he's wearing out - even for his supporters. They need something new. & it's too bad because Trump is their candidate right now. I don't think he has a lot going for him honestly. It's wishful thinking to believe in something so vague and non-ethical, lol. :D it's a total farce to believe anything this man has planned (does he have anything planned) will "Make America Great Again". It's just bluster, and I think everybody knows it. He doesn't have a vision. It's empty talk and noise. He doesn't believe in anything. He's probably just bored or something. That's gotta be it...

What's that got to do with covid in Wisconsin?

Deaths are still under 10 a day there, with cases tripling

If this trend continues, yes it will be another thing Trump is right about

According to a great number of psychologists and psychiatrists, the man is a narcissistic sociopath. Its worthwhile to study the word Sociopath to get a wide view of the situation. No offense intended.

Former Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale, armed, barricades self in Fort Lauderdale home, police called

    excerpt:

"FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Former campaign manager for Donald Trump, Brad Parscale, who was replaced by the President less than four months until November’s vote was reportedly armed with a gun and threatening to harm himself at his Fort Lauderdale home on Sunday afternoon.

Police have not confirmed that the barricaded man was Parscale, who worked for Trump, but records confirm that the property in the 2300 block of Desota Drive in Fort Lauderdale is owned by Parscale, 44, and his wife, Candice. Local 10 spoke to neighbors in the Seven Isles neighborhood who also said it was the former advisor to the President.

Fort Lauderdale Police responded to a home in reference to an armed male attempting suicide Sunday afternoon. When officers arrived on the scene, they made contact with the wife of the man who told them her husband was armed, had access to multiple firearms inside the house and was threatening to harm himself. She had placed the 911 call, according to police.

Fort Lauderdale Police said that the armed subject was transported to Broward Health Medical Center where he was placed under a Baker Act."

An article that compares Trump's behavior to those of the fascist era.

Perspective | How fascist is President Trump? There’s still a formula for that.
    By John McNeill
    August 21, 2020 at 12:07 p.m. EDT

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/outl...023aca-e2fc-11ea-b69b-64f7b0477ed4_story.html

Outline - Read & annotate without distractions

    excerpts:

"In 2020, as in 2016, many observers declare Trump fascist, especially after his call for "total domination" of American cities, his glee over federal police actions against Black Lives Matter protesters and his efforts to undermine the legitimacy of the upcoming election should he lose.

But are we there yet? No. In a federal, decentralized state with constitutional checks and balances, it's harder to govern as a fascist than to run as one. Trump's political outlook and behavior bear many similarities to those of fascist leaders, but he has not ruled like an authentic fascist. We can thank "the swamp": The courts, the military, the media, voters and his own appointed officials (now mostly fired) have kept him in check."

"Fetishization of masculinity. Trump still tries to swagger and boast of his vigor and continues to mock his opponents as lacking stamina. But he is not urging men to exert authority over women and family anywhere close to the way authentic fascists did. Nor is he trying to confine women to the home and raise the birthrate. 2016: 4; 2020: 3

Leader cult. Trump never tires of posing as the decisive man of action, a genius and savior of the nation. He extols his instincts above mere rationality. He would have the world believe he is strong, hard-working and devoted to the interests of the ordinary citizen. He takes credit for every favorable development and denies responsibility for everything else. He expects his appointees to lavish public praise upon him. 2016: 4; 2020: 4

Lost-golden-age syndrome. Fascism was predicated on notions of victimization and lost national greatness that Il Duce or Der Führer alone could restore. Trump played this tune en route to the White House and has continued in office. Since the pandemic took hold, he has seemed more restrained about restoring greatness, perhaps aware that most people would happily settle for making America normal again. But much of his policy aims at turning back the clock to a time when White Americans were 85 percent of the population, when America was feared and respected abroad, and when coal and oil companies could make money without the hassles of federal regulations. Obsessed with a politics of nostalgia, he even signals sympathy for those whose mourned-for golden age is the Confederacy. 2016: 4; 2020: 4

Self-definition by opposition. Fascists had no difficulty explaining what they were against: socialism, labor unions, democracy, traditional elites, foreigners — particularly those judged racial inferiors. Trump's peeves are central to his politics, just as rousing resentments is central to his popularity. His political essence is opposition — to immigration, the media, the swamp — even if in office he has (so far) persecuted his targets far less brutally than did authentic fascists. 2016: 3; 2020: 4"

Trump has been wrong time and again about the coronavirus, which is why his approval rating for his handling of it is a dismal 35%.

Trump is counting on the return of Big Ten football in late October to score him points in Midwest swing states like Wisconsin which is experiencing a resurgence of the virus.

Although we always suspected Trump was a fraud, we now have proof...................

New York Times publishes Donald Trump's tax returns in election bombshell

Donald Trump, a self-proclaimed billionaire, paid only $750 in federal income taxes in the year he was elected US president, according to a stunning New York Times investigation that could shake up the presidential election.

Trump taxes show chronic losses and years of tax avoidance,” was the banner headline on the paper’s website on Sunday. The president’s tax returns have long been the holy grail of American political reporting.

The president “paid $750 in federal income taxes the year he won the presidency”, the paper reported, adding that “in his first year in the White House, he paid another $750.

“He had paid no income taxes at all in 10 of the previous 15 years – largely because he reported losing much more money than he made.”

In all, the paper said, Trump paid no federal income taxes in 11 of 18 years its reporters examined. Many of his businesses, including his golf courses, report significant financial losses – which have helped him to lower his taxes.

Exactly when Trump said if he wasn’t happily married, and Ivanka wasn’t his daughter, he would have sex with her.

The response from his supporters was “well at least he isn’t gay”

At a later time he said to an audience “it’s ok to call her a piece of ass”

Told you years ago that's all his tax returns were going to say

The billionaire wrote off loses under his own name to cut tax, no surprises there
