What "National Guard presence"? The federal force in Portland and the one slated for Seattle is the Federal Protective Services, consisting of special paramilitary units of the Customs and Border Patrol, an agency under the control of the Department of Homeland Security. It is not National Guard, not regular military, not professional police, but a special unit outside these and not subject to the same constraints. Its jurisdiction is legally limited to protecting federal property and personnel, not to police Portland or Seattle, protect stores, etc..And that is Trump's major vulnerability.

The commentator on you video seemed like he might have been on something; slurred speech. All I could find is a report that somebody threw an incendiary device, variously described as a pipebomb or a Molotov cocktail, at the courthouse. What is his real name? Is that being withheld cuz he's a juvie? Strange your source would leave that out. Strange story. Anyhow, the escalation was brought on by Trump.
