The GOP plan is to eliminate school period. They want every child to live in the bubble of their Evangelical parents until they are 18 then they go into a trade. Schools take taxes, they teach evolution, prayer is not allowed, and you take history classes where you lean the truth. My sister almost lost her teaching job because she said the USA "lost" the Vietnam War for example. The anti-mask right wing parents lost their shit and half her kids never came to the class again.

Long term they hope people will decide school is not worth it.

 

Trump is now lashing out at Lindsey Graham for not having the Senate Judiciary Committee investigate Obama enough to his liking.

 

Trump is obtaining help from Barr and the Justice Department on another case that involves his tax returns. It is a case distinct from the two that the U.S. Supreme Court responded to on Thursday. The DOJ has appealed the case to the Supreme Court to assist Trump.

^^^^ Don't get me wrong. A college education is not for everyone. We need people with a trade. However, people with college educations should not be looked down upon. Hell, even trump has a "college degree".

 

Trump has melded his personal business ventures with the White House and has refused to disclose his tax returns.

He has engaged in suspicious activity, such as perpetrating an underhanded payment of hush money via his personal attorney during the presidential campaign.

Yet he claims he should be insulated from any political or criminal investigations by Congress, states, or localities while he is in office, claiming that it is political persecution.

 

Yeah, many jobs need college but it's so expensive it's not the right choice for everyone. If the Republicans had their way America would be in trouble in a generation. No one knows how to be a doctor or how to actuly build the Ford truck, They know how to change it's oil and check Facebook for a herbal remedy.

I think Trump bought his degree.

Absolutely correct. Here in the Midwest, that's exactly what the Republicans want. One side benefit they see from a poor or inadequate education is a voter base which will accept anything the evangelical ruling class tells them.

 

This IS Republican ideology ………………… every man for himself. If you find dangerous chemical pollution in your drinking water - go all by yourself and try to sue the entity that created the pollution. If you have been discriminated against for housing - go all by yourself and try to sue the entity that is treating your unfairly ………….. and you have to prove intent as well. If you think a pharmaceutical company has marketed a drug that has caused you harm or caused a death in your family - go all by yourself to court and try to sue the big pharmaceutical company. The REPUBLICAN PARTY has shown and proven time & time again they are on the side of corporate and business interests - who deliver train-loads of cash into their political campaigns. ( The Koch brothers openly bragged that they gave $800 million to REPUBLICAN political campaigns in the last election cycle. $800 million dollars!!! By just those two brothers. ) So by de-funding & eliminating people in those government agencies ( the very agencies that are the people's watchdogs for OUR safety and benefit ) - the REPUBLICAN PARTY effectively puts us all on our own ……………….. every man for himself. Think of it this way ……… take away all the security systems, guards, cameras, locks and bank vaults ……………… how do you think you'll fare at keeping your money safe??? It's the same with eliminating all the consumer / individual watchdog agencies of the Federal government. They are OUR "police and security" agencies against all kinds of fraud, greed, environmental pollution, unfair treatment, discrimination, unsafe practices, etc.

So whose side do you think the REPUBLICAN PARTY is really on??? Us as individuals …………………. or the big businesses that bring them cash by the train-loads???

DO NOT be deceived by REPUBLICAN political operatives telling you they are "for you - the American citizen." Look at the signs - look at the proof and evidence.

Boy - this is the truth. And guess which state has the legal final say on which books are "permitted " to be in U.S. school systems????? ……………………. TEXAS.

Your child will be taught a revised version of history the way the REPUBLICAN PARTY wants them to be taught. And every child will be given a rootin'-tootin' 6-shooter to defend their "Constitutional rights" against any that disagree with the Texas-tailored curriculum.

Republicans have a problem accepting the true American history. Anything but blind worship means you should leave the country. So they will always be offended by reality. They would prefer a nationalist soviet style education. America is great and it has NEVER made a mistake because it is guided by unique American morals.

That was about 80% of my k-12 education and it's still not enough for them because I was told America lost some wars.

Anyone who actually believes the U.S won the Viet Nam war outright is delusional. It was a draw AT BEST. " Peace with honor", Nixon claimed. Tens-of-thousands of U.S. men, boys, and some women killed. Today "U.S. Companies" have sweatshops set up in Viet Nam. WTF???

That's why the Afghans and Iraqi's used the same type of guerilla fighting against the Soviet Union some years ago, and the U.S. lately. Hidden, entrenched fighters that blend into the local population are hard to see clearly as enemies. A vast number of soldiers all in uniform are easy targets. The U.S. learned a hard lesson in Viet Nam, and has altered it's war tactics to some degree because of it.

I'm a bit tired of many Republicans' "he-man, tough-guy" image too. We're tough and we always win at everything. Tough?? And you can't or won't wear a little cloth mask to protect yourself and your loved ones??? Is that too tough for you "he-men"???

 

As far as I can tells guns are OK because having one makes you smart. Other people will be afraid of you but wearing a mask says you are the one afraid. For Trump voters machismo is very important. Men are not men anymore but they are men because they are "brave" enough to face a virus. It's sisu as the Finish would say but they just look like idiots taking a risk for no reason.
