It may backfire on him. Already, the word is out about how peaceful demonstrators were abruptly cleared out of the way with tear gas, flash grenades, and rubber bullets so that his highness could get to his photo op. This is a scene one expects in a movie about some oriental despot or Roman emperor.

Police used tear gas to clear protesters from Lafayette park so Trump could take a photo at St. John's Church
CNN: Peaceful protesters forcefully dispersed before Trump visits church near White House for photos
There's only one reason why Trump would use the military on a peaceful D.C. protest

As for using a church and the Bible as props, those actions have already drawn lots of criticism from clerics and from Biden and Pelosi.
'The Bible is not a prop': Religious leaders, lawmakers outraged over Trump church visit
D.C. bishop 'outraged' Trump used tear gas on citizens for photo op at church

Once again, Trump panders to his base in a ham-handed way that should insult its intelligence. At least he didn't arrive draped in the flag, which for him was probably showing restraint. But that photo will make the history books and remind generations of Americans what an ass he was. Kinda like the one of Nixon flashing the double peace sign. Almost as good as one of Trump cowering in the bunker.

Where is vg this morning. I bet he's at the peaceful protest in Perth.

Actually trump was in training. When he is in prison, he will be the basement inspector at Sing Sing.

When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.”

I have been saying since 2015 that Mike Pence has a hidden agenda to revive the Confederacy. He's from Indiana but has family roots in Kentucky. He does believe in everything the KKK stands for. I often said that the platforms of the KKK and the Republican Party are identical They both claim to be Patriotic Christian Conservatives, all for family values and the ideology of the Moral Majority. It's what Jerry Falwell and Charles Colson wanted from Nixon. Now Mike Pence and William Barr and Devin Nunez and Lindsey Graham have found a stupid jack-ass with a Boris Yeltsin hair do to help push that identical agenda.

Apparently Hope Hicks was the one who came with the idea for trump's walk to the church.
The Bible was from Ivanka. She carried it in her $1500 purse.

And they claim to be in tune with the American people. Most people I know use a former Walmart plastic bag to haul their belongings through the streets as they look for a place to hide and sleep for the night.

Did your hero Trump go to the basement to inspect the basement, or to inspect his shorts pursuant the marching protestors on Pennsylvania Avenue, or to inspect his four thousand dollar IMG_20200603_0001.jpg shoes for more TP?

GOP Group Scorches Trump On Fox News With Call To End His ‘American Carnage’
Republican Voters Against Trump is urging Americans to vote the president out of office in November.
    By Ed Mazza

GOP Group Scorches Trump On Fox News With Call To End His 'American Carnage' | HuffPost

    excerpt:

"Republican Voters Against Trump ― a campaign that launched last week to highlight the voices of disaffected party members ― is running an ad this week on “Fox & Friends” that uses the president’s own words against him. The spot is centered around a line from his inauguration: “This American carnage stops right here and stops right now,” which has taken on new meaning amid a deadly pandemic and nationwide civil unrest:

“As demonstrations and riots roil the country, he is only dividing us, rather than uniting us,” Sarah Longwell, the group’s spokesperson, said in a statement. “President Trump owns this American carnage. It’s time to stop the bleeding.”"

The merchanidise she and Trump import from China dirt cheap and sell to Americans at outlets like Macy's at exhorbitant prices.

The Bible Trump used for the photo-op was probably made in China.

For added domination effect at the Bible photo-op, Ivanka could have coached Trump to press his foot down on the neck of an unconscious protester in front of the Church until he could no longer breathe.

Defense official resigns from Pentagon, slams Esper for role in President Trump's photo op
The resignation letter ends by saying, 'The sanctity of the U.S. Constitution, and the lives of Americans, may depend on your choices.'

Defense official resigns from Pentagon, slams Esper for role in President Trump's photo op

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON — A former top official at the Pentagon, James Miller, resigned from his position on a Defense Advisory Board. This resignation letter claims his decision was made over Secretary of Defense Mark Esper’s participation in President Donald Trump’s photo op in front of St. John’s Church.

The full resignation letter was published by the Washington Post on Tuesday. Miller left his post at the Pentagon’s Defense Science Board.

"When I joined the Board in early 2014, after leaving government service as Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, I again swore an oath of office, one familiar to you, that includes the commitment to 'support and defend the Constitution of the United States ... and to bear true faith and allegiance to the same,'" Miller wrote in the resignation letter addressed to Esper.

He added: "You recited that same oath on July 23, 2019, when you were sworn in as Secretary of Defense. On Monday, June 1, 2020, I believe that you violated that oath.""

James Mattis Denounces President Trump, Describes Him as a Threat to the Constitution

    excerpt:

"In his j’accuse, Mattis excoriates the president for setting Americans against one another.
“Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people—does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide us,” Mattis writes. “We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership. We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society. This will not be easy, as the past few days have shown, but we owe it to our fellow citizens; to past generations that bled to defend our promise; and to our children.”

He goes on to contrast the American ethos of unity with Nazi ideology. “Instructions given by the military departments to our troops before the Normandy invasion reminded soldiers that ‘The Nazi slogan for destroying us … was “Divide and Conquer.” Our American answer is “In Union there is Strength.”’ We must summon that unity to surmount this crisis—confident that we are better than our politics.”"

Trump’s relationship with Europe goes from bad to nothingness

Trump’s relationship with Europe goes from bad to nothingness

    excerpt:

“The indication from Merkel that she is not going to attend the G-whatever Trump is proposing,” Bergmann said. “That’s really her saying: ‘We’ll either see you on the other side of the election or, hopefully, we won’t see you at all.’”

Embattled at Home, Trump Finds Himself Isolated Abroad, Too
After years of snubs and American unilateralism, European allies have stopped looking to the president for leadership, and are turning their backs on him.
    By Steven Erlanger

Embattled at Home, Trump Finds Himself Isolated Abroad, Too

    excerpt:

"Ms. Merkel cited the lingering threat of the virus, but a senior German official who spoke on the condition of anonymity made clear that she had other reasons to decline: She believed that proper diplomatic preparations had not been made; she did not want to be part of an anti-China display; she opposed Mr. Trump’s idea of inviting the Russian president, Vladimir V. Putin; she did not want to be seen as interfering in American domestic politics.

And she was shocked by Mr. Trump’s sudden, unilateral decision to pull out of the World Health Organization.

The divide between Mr. Trump and European allies was widening even before American cities were convulsed by rioting. But the chaos on American streets, viewed from abroad, has only reinforced a sense that the conflicts Mr. Trump seems to sow have caught up with him."

Here we see an example of delusional narcissism. How is this working out for you orange man? No matter how good someone is 95% of people will never like you in a democracy. His fragile ego demands these high numbers only seen in dictatorships with rigged elections. Maybe why it's so important for him to think he won the popular vote or out drew Obama's inauguration. Winning is not enough he feels like he lost. It's what makes him an easy target for forign leaders.

To use a right wing analogy he needs to be the special snowflake with all the participation trophies.

The GOP is classless. They pull the crap they are now and still say they are not racist and the party of Lincoln. Right that's why you are screwing black people and fly the flag of the temporary country that fought Lincoln right?

Trump predicts he can win 95 percent of the black vote

“You're living in poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs. Fifty-eight percent of your youth is unemployed. What the hell do you have to lose?” Speaking before another largely-white audience in a town whose population is 93 percent white, Trump said, “And at the end of four years, I guarantee you that I will get over 95 percent of the African-American vote. I promise you. Because I will produce.”

So, if conservatives were told--"you are just like trump'__ would they take that as a compliment? Would that mean that they condone lying? That they are potential or actual con men? That they have no loyalty to those that love and depend on them? That they brag on themselves endlessly? That they are obvious racists as shown by constant acts of racism?Just asking for a friend.
