Nobody can do shit about an event that already happened, that's for sure, except analyze what happened, see whether or not it was justified, and if not, see that the authorities responsible are roundly criticized in hopes of preventing similar future incidents. This false arrest seems particularly blatant, especially under the circumstances, and needs to be called out, not explained away as "just one of those things." Excessive deference to the police and contempt for the press can mark the early stages of transition from a democratic to an authoritarian regime.

But this is not new. This exact sort of thing has been happening since the 50s, but the 65 Watts riot is where they first started this business of falling back and letting the community burn itself out.
