Trump ramps up expulsions of young migrants, citing virus

Trump ramps up expulsions of young migrants, citing virus | The China Post

    exerpt:

"Under U.S. law they would normally be allowed to live with relatives while their cases wend their way through immigration courts. Instead the Trump administration is quickly expelling them under an emergency declaration citing the coronavirus pandemic, with 600 minors expelled in April alone.

The expulsions are the latest administration measure aimed at preventing the entry of migrant children, following other programs such as the since-rescinded “zero tolerance” policy that resulted in thousands of family separations.

Border agencies say they have to restrict asylum claims and border crossings during the pandemic to prevent its spread. Migrants’ advocates call that a pretext to dispense with federal protections for children."

The Psychology of Trump’s Preoccupation with Obama
Obama is antithetical to Trump. So long as he exists, Trump is threatened.

The Psychology of Trump’s Preoccupation with Obama

    excerpt:

"Obama is a man in full: self-made, self-aware, self-contained, at peace with himself, at ease in the world, and capable of relating with people at eye level. He can laugh with others and at himself. By temperament, he's warm, emotionally stable, thoughtful, and open-minded. The bright side of humanity is self-evident and fully intact in Obama. He traffics in inspiration. Many of those who disagree with what he's done as a politician would not mind being who he is as a person.

Trump is at his core indecent. As a man, he's forever fledgling. Propped up by his wealthy father well into middle age, he struggles mightily with self-control, by his own admission fears self-reflection, and is clearly incapable of a range of human emotions, from empathy to humor. He has no use for tenderness, the arts, or spiritual pursuits. Trump traffics in debasement.

Despite his gilded life, he’s constantly aggrieved, embittered, and at war with the world. He appears to have no friends, only henchmen, lackeys, and hangers-on. The people he attracts into his orbit quite regularly turn out to be crass opportunists, con men and sleazebags, or greedy narcissists like him."

Right on the money, egger. But they still---STILL---STILL love him and think he is a decent human being. What does that say about his admirers? Quite a lot.
Those politicians that do his bidding---do it because they are just craven cowards.

At a hearing, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci told senators that if the country did not adequately prepare, “then we run the risk of having a resurgence.”

Top Health Experts Paint Bleak Picture of Pandemic

    excerpt:

"If economic interests were allowed to override public health concerns, Dr. Fauci warned, “there is a real risk that you will trigger an outbreak that you may not be able to control.” That could result not only in “some suffering and death that could be avoided,” he said, “but could even set you back on the road to trying to get economic recovery.”

Dr. Fauci’s remarks, along with those of Dr. Redfield, contradicted Mr. Trump’s growing insistence that the nation has put the coronavirus behind it.

The comments appeared to rattle the markets, driving the S&P 500 down as investors weighed the potential of a second wave of infections against Mr. Trump’s promises that the economy would bounce back once stay-at-home restrictions were lifted. Worrisome reports of spikes in infections in countries like China, South Korea and Germany, where lockdowns had been lifted, seemed to confirm the American officials’ fears.

The doctors’ downbeat assessments came as the death toll in the United States surpassed 82,000, and on a day when all three branches of government continued to adapt to new realities brought about by the virus."

Top Health Experts Paint Bleak Picture of Pandemic

    excerpt:

"There is growing consensus among modelers estimating the number of cases and deaths from the virus in the next few weeks. But this convergence of estimates — 31,000 to 42,000 additional deaths through mid-June, for roughly 120,000 total deaths in the United States — comes as shifts in public policy are likely to create new uncertainty about the path of the pandemic after that.

Three weeks ago, predictions from five popular models were widely divergent. Now, their outputs look far more similar.

The researchers who created them say that they are getting better at understanding the dynamics of the pandemic as Americans largely shelter in place, and that improved knowledge could explain the growing consensus of the models. The near-term future of the pandemic is also a little easier to imagine, with deaths flattening instead of growing rapidly."

I predict this country will fall entirely within 25 years. The Chinese and the Russians will divide up the spoils, and their lackey, wannabe dictator Trump will be dead. People here in the U.S. are soooooo un-educated when it comes to civics, American and world history, and how past & current authoritarian / totalitarian / dictatorships operate. If they had any semblance of knowledge of those subjects, Rump would be seen as the threat to democracy that he truly is.

The Bible says "there will be great suffering in the world, the likes of which the world has never seen."

Our vastly un-educated population sees and reads social media posts and many do NOT have the knowledge to decipher truth from fiction. For example - sooo many Repubs chant about the Constitution and how it's our guiding light, but forget that it includes the right to a FREE PRESS. Since Rump came on the scene and called them "fake news", these mindless dolts bite on it and swallow the whole slimy load. You CAN NOT say you believe the Constitution - and then turn around and say the Press is the "enemy of the people." The so-called main-stream media got us through two World wars, the Korean war, the Viet Nam War, The Great Depression, the Civil Rights movement, the space program's accomplishments, Polio & then a vaccine, past epidemics, the 9 -11 terror attacks, the Iraq War, etc. But along comes RUMP - who calls all of those long-trusted news outlets "fake news"...………….. and MILLIONS OF IDIOTIC, UN-EDUCATED DOLTS follow the poster boy for narcissism & self-interest. He's been caught in soooo many lies ON VIDEO AND AUDIO TAPE ……… and they STILL BELIEVE HIM !!!!!!! Perfect example of GULLIBLE LEMMINGS!!!!

He's trying to create an authoritarian monarchy again, where he alone has the power. Rump ignores both houses of Congress, packs the courts with "yes-men rubber stamps" who will agree to Rump's every whim and give him rulings he likes. He praises the COMMUNIST DICTATORS PUTIN, XI JINPING, and KIM JUNG UN for their "strong leadership styles." Rump even said - again on tape - "When President Xi speaks, his people sit up straight and listen to him. I like that. We need that here."

Does that kind of shit sound like DEMOCRACY TO ANYONE???? Or an AUTHORITARIAN DICTATORSHIP ................... which Rump has praised????

If Obama or Clinton or any other Dem, Ind., Green Party, or Lib. said and did the things Rump has and is .......................... the Repubs would be shooting at them and also any supporters of theirs. HELL ........Rump supporters are killing innocent people already just for disagreeing with Rump. (masks, social distancing). Gonna be more blood shed. Civil war all over again ................... because of stupidity.

Back to my first sentence: I predict this country will fall entirely within 25 years. With sooo much internal turmoil and division here, Russia and China must be chomping at the bit. The U.S. is soooo divided already - and it's getting worse and more violent. They'll make more & more military moves to force the issue, spread more & more internet propaganda, and when the time is ripe ………………… they'll strike us. With so much internal division, can we BE ANY MORE VULNERABLE??? Watch and see.

Trump deepens 'Obamagate' conspiracy theory with Biden unmasking move

    excerpt:

"Asked by a Washington Post reporter on Monday to define his predecessor’s exact offence, he answered: “You know what the crime is. The crime is very obvious to everybody. All you have to do is read the newspapers, except yours.”

David Frum, a former speechwriter for George W Bush, tweeted: “‘Obama-gate’ is basically Al Capone trying to indict the IRS for tax evasion.”

Susan Hennessey, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution think tank in Washington, tweeted: “The latest right-wing attempt to gin up a fictitious scandal would be laughable if it weren’t actually a grotesque attempt to distract from 83,000 American deaths and counting while a criminally inept president rage tweets and interjects helpful suggestions like drinking bleach.”"

  12. This early in the campaign season I'm apt to see this as yet another hollow stunt. Usually staged to measure reactions.

October will be white knuckle time.

    Post of blogger:

"Never trust a man whose mouth looks like an anus, whose son looks like a Neanderthal, his daughter and wife plastic barbies, whose son shoots endangered species.

Trump is emboldened from a cowardly senate majority.

This is why Manafort is on home arrest while Cohen is not, why he’s advocating via Barr to free Flynn even after he admitted guilt, and defended Stone and monster Jeffrey Epstein.

It was appalling to watch his racist reaction to an Asian reporter and walk off the stage like a spoiled brat.

He’s crazy, but what makes it worse are the handlers and crazy people defending his behaviors."

Piney, Barak Obama discussed what information to transfer to Trump as he prepared the transition. The matter of Flynn was a big deal. The NSA and the FBI had plenty of serious worrisome information about him, including meeting with Putin, taking money from Russia, taking money from Turkey, and working on Kidnaping Fathula Gulen and turning him over to Erdoan. The NSA had made some early discoveries. Several top Democrats asked for "Unmasking" --according to protocol-- and received the name of Michael Flynn. He had been the one who was dealing behind the scene while working for Trump. He was next interviewed by the FBI and lied about what he had been doing. He was charged and he plead guilty because they had him dead to rites. After all that Trump got him a Republican operative for a lawyer and he is trying to withdraw his pleading. Now he has an even more serious problem, because of his Republican lawyer's stupidity. You see Piney, now judge Sullivan is pissed. He is hearing from FBI counterintelligence expert Priestap about the true details of the investigation of Flynn which the Republican lawyer and the DOJ of William Barr had withheld from the court. And an even more serious problem for Flynn now is a matter of cake and eat it too. Flynn is saying he wants to withdraw his guilty pleading and that is because he had not lied to the FBI as charged. But, Judge Emmet Sullivan is not stupid. He knows that means Flynn lied to the court twice.

  16. Because there's a weird idea that associating an opponent in a discussion with the KKK or a confederate flag "wins" the discussion. It's one of the more childish approaches these days, particularly on HF, unfortunately. "If you don't agree with me, you MUST be a klansman" kind of thinking.

Trump team needs a better narrative for the 2020 election than the one it has about Obama.

3 million more Americans filed for unemployment, which brings the total to 36 million since the coronavirus started

Nearly 3 million U.S. workers filed unemployment claims last week

Appeals court greenlights emoluments suit against Trump

    excerpt:

"A lawsuit accusing President Donald Trump of violating the Constitution by accepting foreign government money through his luxury Washington hotel can proceed to fact-gathering about Trump's profits, a federal appeals court ruled Thursday.

The Richmond-based 4th Circuit Court of Appeals voted, 9-6, to reject Trump's bid to shut down the lawsuit the governments of Maryland and the District of Columbia brought alleging violations of the Constitution's emoluments clauses.

Trump, who has vigorously fought a series of similar lawsuits for years, will now need relief from the Supreme Court if he wants to block Maryland and D.C. from pressing demands for his business records as his re-election campaign gets into full swing."

The really weird thing here is the Confederate flag itself. The Klansmen wave it with pride, even mount it to their pickup trucks. It is still the flag of an enemy government which had ordered its adherents to attack and kill Americans. The southerners used their weapons to attack America. They attacked as far north as Saint Albans in Vermont, and parts of Michigan. They attacked Fort Union in New Mexico. The Confederate flag wavers attacked Americans clear across the country. So, when they wave it today, it does send an ugly message. Sometimes people take that ugly message as an endorsement of defiance and slavery. Some southern people are good and decent. Some in the south were northern sympathizers. The Confederate flag brings back some bad memories, like rubbing salt on a partially healed wound. If you use that flag the wrong way, you might get it stuffed in an unpleasant place.

But both districts were heavy Republican already. The 7th in Wisconsin is where my cousin lives. It is out in the boonies … where the outhouses are still in use. The 25th in California is rich folks country. The homes there are upwards of a million and a half, some several millions. It takes serious cash to live in San Fernando Valley, Van Nuys, Burbank, Silver Lake, Sherman Oaks, and others. Not too many Democrats in that 25th District.
