And for all you saying you've never heard anyone complain about bagpipes.. I have! It is definitely a *thing*.
Exactly : ) hence why I'm entitled to say "lighten up" Age difference between who and who? Probably more a country thing. Don't see what age would have to do with it.
Bag pipes may be fine if you are wearing a kilt, tossing logs, and drinking beer, but they don't quite compare to that lead guitar.
You've never heard the joke: Q. Whats perfect pitch? A When you toss an accordion in a dumpster and it l;ands on bagpipes.
I mean, seriously folks.... Who in their right mind decides they are going to take a goat's stomach, fit some pipes into it, fill it with air and squeeze it to force the air through the pipes? That's a real, "here, hold my beer".moment right there.
Lol. See? This is a good discussion. We've different types of opinions and points of view. Yes the virus is serious but it also produces dark humor. I know a fair amount of people who don't like the bagpipes including a very close friend from the Highlands who can't stand them. Personally I don't mind them for very brief periods but tbh they do get annoying after a while. And yes I've eaten haggis. It's not bad with a little whisky sauce and a pint of Tennent's lager.
you know, i was thinking about this more, and yes. i was wondering whether people in england were more likely to have come across bagpipes randomly, and so also bagpipe complainers.. because i have come across people busking for instance, and i don't want to hear it in a shopping centre. which led to me thinking exactly that.. the thing that makes it unpleasant in that environment might be softened by the big open space. bagpipes are meant to be heard over big open spaces.
