Indeed, they don't know many details yet. It was never portrayed otherwise here. Why act like there's something dubious about them saying this?

Then why listen to the W.H.O then?

Your 'logic' here is we shouldn't listen to the WHO or any virologists or epidemiologists or other experts because they don't have all the details on a new virus yet.
In fact, you argue they are not even experts in their respective fields anymore because of it. Lol...
And people who think differently than you on this suffer from blind faith in them. Man, go troll your mom.

Who was every going to listen to the UN/WHO over the likes of the US CDC or John Hopkins researchers anyway

WHO has been totally useless throughout all this

If you wanna dismiss or discredit them at least do it for the right reasons. That certain researchers don't know everything on this new virus yet is a bogus reason and you know it. We shouldn't listen to anybody then :D

That the WHO has put too many trust in China's government info is a valid point of criticism.

Remind us again where the WHO's headquarters are

I'll stick to American / Australian researchers thankyou very much. Hell, on Covid I'd listen to the Germans before listening to Jinping's buddies at the W.H.O

Experts and researchers of the WHO are unreliable because they're upfront about the fact they don't know everything yet. Instead we should listen to other experts and researchers who admit the exact same thing :D

Best way is to consider every expertise info the same way: get it verified, fact checked and cross referenced. Thing is most experts and researchers are doing this atm, they're working together, sharing insights. The WHO is not some weird island in this regard. Doesn't mean they should be blindly trusted of course. Nor completely ignored/dismissed :p On the contrary: verify, cross reference, etc!

About case-fatality ratio, well it's tricky stuff. Data could be meaningfully comparable only if the real overall number of cases - including the asymptomatic ones - had been previously reliably ascertained and the different populations were homogeneous: an older population appears to be way more vulnerable, and younger population doesn't necessarily couple with worse health care system, in other words you don't need to be Burundi to have less elderly citizens. A large number of unreported cases, the age demographics, and the reliability of reports (I am looking at you, Xi Jinping) all have a huge impact over figures. What can be observe clearly is how many people in need of intensive care are left behind. For the rest I suspect we are still in the phase where only more or less educated guesses can be made.

Nothing like the hypocrisy of white Republicans. It never matters until it happens to them then the "SJW" cause is the most important thing ever. Kind of sad they need such a connection but I have seen it many times.

Now you are just contradicting yourself again

If we should all wait for peer reviewed studies

...then again, what's the use of W.H.O opinion?

    Explain how and where exactly.
I'm saying how the international scientific and health research community (incl the ones part of WHO) processes and weighs info. You say we can dismiss certain experts because they don't know everything yet (which is...all of them. Not just the WHO).
