Bull. Never any evidence. Just assertions given with an air of being in the know.

  2. Are you suggesting that politicians don't make deals for positions and appointments? Look into Blagojevich, a guy set free by Trump for trying to score bucks from Obama's vacated senate seat.

Are you inclined to think that bribery and such don't occur in politics? Or are you inclined to think that your party is "above" such cheap tactics?

My company laid off 20% of its staff this week. No 'furlough'.

If you guys think this election is going to be about Biden being too old or creepy or Trump being a Russian spy, you're living in 2019.

Coronavirus and lost jobs will be all this is about.

Am I suggesting that many politicians aren't crooks? No way. We have one in the White House, and Blagojevich is a particularly flagrant example, sentenced to the pennitentiary for it but pardoned by Trump. Bribery occurs, its a crime, sometimes the offenders get away with it, sometimes they don't. Far cry from saying the nomination process is a charade, rigged from the start, without evidence. To assume it's all corrupt is--an assumption. Show us the proof. Isn't that what you guys say about Trump and the the Russians (and there's more evidence there)?

  7. You seem to think I'm a fan of Trump an I am not.

Sure I voted him in, but look at the choice (the Clintons). I personally can't believe that both American parties have allowed special interests to so completely rule them over the years. The conflict was predictable. But how much of it is stupid theater?

Except he's a Kenyan citizen whom nobody's heard of , so his endorsement won't carry much weight. Lots of Presidents have had to contend with n'ere do well sons or brothers. Malik is a jealous and bitter man. Sad.

Of course it’s legitimate. Rings a little hollow if you weren't so keen when it was one of your boys in the hot seat though.

Basically AOC is more decent than pretty much everyone who participates in the politics forum.

It’s really difficult to respect such hypocrisy. There are folks on here who's opinion I often was actually interested in before they dismissed these claims out of hand for no better reason than because Biden is their boy. This is after they railed and railed about Kavanaugh.

We now know their hearts are as insipid and devoid of sincerity as the attitudes they imagine in their political opponents.

I find it hard to respect anyone who makes judgments on the basis of irrational beliefs like "believe all women" (corollary, disbelieve all men). The notion that women never make false rape charges is patently false, and an example of blatant gender stereotyping. The notion that women would never lie in the heat of a political campaign is patently naive. In the case of Kavanaugh, there were several accusers, but the one who got the most attention, a university professor, held up well under oath under cross-examination by the Senate. Kavanaugh did not. He exploded with rage and made threats to retalliate against his political opponents. And he is now sitting on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Biden's accuser, Tara Reade, in my opinion, lacks credibility. The alleged incident occurred while she was an adult working for his senate campaign 27 years ago. She subsequently praised Biden repeatedly on Twitter, including his work on combating violence against women. She left Washington years later, at first saying she wanted to be with her family, then saying it was to protest U.S. imperialism. She had a strange attraction to Vladimir Putin. In 2018, she wrote, “President Putin has an alluring combination of strength with gentleness. His sensuous image projects his love for life, the embodiment of grace while facing adversity.” But then she changed her mind when she decided it was inconsistent with her vegan feminist beliefs (in other words, indication she's a flake). And she had a motive for lying, being first a Warren supporter and then a Bernie supporter. Her story first aired on a podcast by diehard Bernie Sanders supporter Katie Halper who encouraged her to tell her story publicly for the first time in 27 years .On the sexual assault story, she changed her version from an original unwanted touching to actual penetration with said finger. So for these reasons, I find her story a bit fishy--not to be dismissed, but not to be given credence unless something more turns up. I'm suspicious, and think any fair-minded person should be, too. The media has pursued the story, but what they've turned up so far doesn't strengthen her case.

I’m not aware of anyone who made that claim in this thread. If you are referring to a certain earlier post of mine, I was making a point about the hypocrisy of the Democratic Party. I certainly don't believe that myself. To me all this kind of comes off as bluster and totally not the point.

My point is, it is being and has been dismissed and largely not covered by the media, and some folks on here seem quick to want to ignore. Not pursuing the veracity of her claims is the problem. Calling it ”fishy” and calling it a day isn't good enough. I think you are lying to yourself if you're claiming your standards aren't clearly skewed by political bias.
