Trump cuts off U.S. funding to WHO, pending review

President Trump said the U.S. will stop funding to the World Health Organization while his administration reviews its role in “mismanaging” the coronavirus.

He said the U.S. contributes up to $400 million while superpowers like China, where the outbreak began, contribute closer to $40 million.

“The United States has a duty to insist on full accountability,” Mr. Trump said

He cited the WHO’s lack of pushback to Beijing’s foggy reporting on the virus in the early going, saying it cost the rest of the world valuable time.

He also blasted the WHO’s opposition to bans on travel from China, accusing it of putting “political correctness above life-saving measures.”

“Countless more lives would have been saved. Instead, look at the rest of the world,” he said, citing the rampant spread of the virus in Europe.

He said U.S. funding wasn’t put to good use and the WHO failed to vet and share information in a timely fashion.

I see a lawsuit in that man's future

    Ca-ching Ca-ching

It's been posted before. Could have just handed out free masks, locally made cloth ones, rather than have a video of a bunch of white dudes dragging a man of colour of a bus circulate around the globe

    So stupid

"Many penalties imposed under the NSW COVID-19 public health orders would likely fall over in court, lawyers have said, describing the state's new legislation as flawed, deficient and lacking clarity.

“It seems likely that many people will be able to successfully challenge fines issued or charges brought in court in NSW when they are alleged to have left home without a reasonable excuse in breach of the ministerial direction on movement,” barrister Felicity Graham of Black Chambers told news.com.au."

Lawyers say virus fines could collapse if challenged in court

    April 14th:

"New York City today has reported 3,778 additional deaths that have occurred since March 11 and have been classified as "probable," defined as follows: “decedent [...] had no known positive laboratory test for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) but the death certificate lists as a cause of death “COVID-19” or an equivalent" [source]. We will add these to the New York State total as soon as it is determined whether the historical distribution can be obtained"

However, due to the pandemic, there are some delays in reporting this information

So, only 63% of those New York deaths were actually confirmed as covid

Media is sooo not doing their job properly

"Thousands of Indians who fled cities to return to their villages after the government imposed a coronavirus lockdown have been running away from quarantine centres.

In government schools and village council buildings thousands of shelters have been set up in the northern states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

But many of them lack basic facilities.

In some shelters in Bihar, people have been slipping out at night but returning during the day for free food."

good, I wish the Canadian government had the balls to do that. But no, TRUDEAU used it to grandstand offered up more money to them through all this. The UN and WHO need to be looked into, and have needed to be for a long time. While Trudeau is ctting back on payouts for unemployment that was paid into.
WHO also lists medical schools which many are less that the standards. You simply have to pay them money to be put on their list of med schools, accredited or not. WHO does not even investigate these schools. It is shocking really and people who graduated from these schools are working here in Canada. I always check dr. In my province and check out their qualifications. Many have red flags by their names, which is not a good thing, but they are allowed to work here. One I saw with my dad in emerg, attended med school at a 2 room office above a Pizza Hut in Senegal, to which the government there had no records of this school even existing, The uk and the USA have refused people who graduated from this school, but not Canada, yeah come here to help out with our already shitty healthcare.
