I agree. Some art is just bad. Honestly. Some of it fucking sucks. I can buy that what constitutes art is a bit of an open question... But shit is shit no matter how you arrange and interpret it.

I was with you till here. I'm not a fan of what looks to me like a child had a tantrum and threw paint around. But that's because I'm incapable of seeing the beauty in it. Not because there isnt any. I've had plenty of people say things I cherish are ugly, stupid, without merit, etc. And it hurts. When I think a certain movie, song, food, whatever is amazing, and someone else doesnt, I'm fine if they respond with "beauty in the eye of the beholder" attitude. But if they say " no that's bullshit. It's just plain ugly" then they're basically saying you're feelings dont count and that's a shitty thing to do to a person
