Dr. Fauci Warned In 2017 Of ‘Surprise Outbreak’ During Trump Administration

    excerpt:

"“No matter what, history has told us definitively that [outbreaks] will happen,” he said. “It is a perpetual challenge. It is not going to go away. The thing we’re extraordinarily confident about is that we are going to see this in the next few years.”

Fauci ticked off a list of measures needed to prepare for such a crisis, including creating and strengthening global health surveillance systems, as well as public health and health care infrastructure; practicing transparency and honest communication with the public; coordinating and collaborating on both basic and clinical research, and developing universal platform technologies to better facilitate the development of vaccines.

“The mistake that so many people have made … is a failure to look beyond our own borders in the issue of the globality of health issues, not only things that are there that will come here but surprises that we’ll have,” he said in his prescient remarks.

Despite Fauci’s early warnings and calls for action, a report on Sunday analyzing the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic found that federal agencies waited until the middle of last month to order vital medical supplies and equipment to fight the coronavirus, despite warnings about its pandemic potential being made in January. As the virus has spread across the country, reports persist of mass shortages of supplies in hospitals and medical centers."

Well, after this is over, people like you will just blame one guy and ignore the tens of thousands actually at fault and the world won't change

    Damn academics.
What did they ever do for the world?
No one ever predicted a pandemic.
Not Bill Gates, Alvin Toffler, Michael Osterholm, Robert G. Webster, US Intelligence, Jeremy Konyndyk, Dr. Luciana Borio, the Massachusetts public health officials, Oxford’s Global Priorities Project, Politico, the Obama administration, the Rand corporation, Ed Yong, Luciana Borio, the Johns Hopkins Center, Peter Daszak, the Pentagon, Jennifer Horney, Marc Lipsitch, Lisa Monaco, etc., etc., etc.....

No, none of those academics warned us.
    Screw people that know things.
Better to go with our gut reactions.

I listen to them all the time. They are great. They saved birds and animals from extinction. They reduced air and water pollution. They prevented corporations from dumping hazardous materials. They gave free lunch to school students. They helped minorities vote. They reduced discriminations in the workplace. In all fairness, they help ordinary Americans fight back against shit for brains Republicans.

Yeah, you seem real busy  Pathetic reply.

You claim to have an interest in that subject. But perhaps only to annoy others.
There's some good info in there on how preposterous a bank can still operate and how it helped Trump in an equal preposterous way.

stormountainman post #21808 - In that post, you begged me to vote. Let me assure you ……. I vote in EVERY ELECTION. Local ones too. For anyone still championing Trump after ALL the horsh*t and lies, and his mockery of the disease experts during this crisis - let me say they are WILLFULLY BLIND.

I can say with full confidence that the same people who think Trump can do no wrong and is "the savior" of this country, would be out of their minds with rage and accusations if these same lies, obstruction of justice, and executive actions were done by a Democrat, an Independent, a Green Party president, etc. That's called extreme bias and willful avoidance of truth and laws. Willfully blind.

VG post 21845 - What an absolutely pathetic response!!!!!!!!!! Here …… I've got a similar one for you …….. my Dad's bigger than your Dad.

Trump and his following lemmings can't claim he's in charge of everything and he's the leader - and then when things turn to sh*t, blame a bunch of others and take no responsibility. Trump will be a fart in the dustbin of history.

That goes with the territory. When the economy is going good, the President gets credit, whether he deserves it or not. When the economy sinks and masses of people die, the President gets the blame, especially if he helped it along by incompetence.

  12. The only thing we should be concerned with is if he sets a good example. It doesn't matter if we "succeed" and in the process are less kind to each other.

Trump is purposefully divisive, and both dems and reps are guilty of following his example and baiting each other.

Sometimes you have to raise your parents. We should be making Trump rise to our example. But we're all so consumed with greed and petty oneupmanship that this is impossible.

The unfortunate truth is that he is a true representation of most of America. Some people think it's cute.

Well, that's why the world is the way it is. 2025 Trump's retires and plays golf, doesn't have to give a shit. People like you won't even pay attention to the thousands of bureaucrats that totally fucked up the last two months. Meanwhile there are a bunch of people that did see it coming, dumped all their shares to buy real estate and will be even richer in 5 years

    You better get yourself together
Pretty soon you're gonna be dead

Laughing in the face of love

A Tesla can drive itself and several brands self park now. The main issue with self driving is car insurance and legality. It's not that we can't do it that's we don't know how to place fault and there is threat auto insurance would go bankrupt. So in American at least they have lobbyists to protect them. We don't want to hurt the economy do we?

we have vaccines for many diseases. They are even expecting one for Covid in a few years. Not sure what you are getting at.
