My country technically didn't close its international borders, people are still flying in, albeit in much reduced numbers.

Government announces a travel ban, but there a whole lot of exemptions the media don't bother reporting, or most people just read the headlines and just assume it means everyone

You would still have exemptions for diplomats, essential services, priority passengers (rich people)

With us, people are still going to parks etc. The fine will be £30 once the police have the powers to do this.

I'm going to be starting a temp job that involves fighting the coronavirus. My place of work is basically shut down, but this new place is slammed with business. The job itself sounds tedious and boring, but we gotta make sacrifices to stay alive. Plus, the employer was impressed with my background knowledge so there's possible advancement here if I do well enough.

 

New York is really struggling from what I understand.

Yeah, off to work this morning, started off, thought I'd go by the beach first, there are a shit load of people jogging, doing their exercise routines, easily 1000 people on the beach, even though there is supposed to be a limited of 500. Trains were 2/3 full, so taking longer than 30 mins at a hairdresser is supposedly going to spread the virus, but 50 people in one train carriage won't

The weirdest thing, I didn't see a single cop the whole time

Terrible worldwide events. Trump wants the economy back to normal ASAP. Almost demographic eugenics at play here. If you can’t afford healthcare and get sick then you’re cactus. The poor will be potentially eradicated, especially those elderly on social security. Horrific.
