The economic aspect is for many here in the Netherlands also scary and one of the most important concerns.
Others seem to be oblivious of how their little lack of effort (combined with that of others) affects the medical staff in a lot of cities in a terrible way.
But overall I find its going pretty good. I'm downtown and most people on the streets and in the supermarkets are considerate and well aware. And for work I visit a lot of other stores in other towns and in the countryside they seems even more chill and pretty sensible

Why arent there like a million people working around the clock pumping out test kits and ventilators?

Why seemingly no public announcements from any of these governments where, when by how much that is happening?

India is still relatively untouched, 400 cases, 7 deaths. That would be a prime candidate for a country to jump on that manufacturing

A month ago, mid February, China was on 70,000 cases. Why didnt it happen then?
And they had rough projections then

Its not just US, its all these governments majorly impacted. They had the rough projections back then. If they had worked to get these companies to ramp up production 20 fold in 4 weeks, told countries like India to get on it. 4 weeks would have been acheivable

If any of these governments knew what they were doing, you would have way more ventilators currently in production

 

fEMA does a piss poor job of addressing anything, just like the UN. Only good for grand standing and getting money from countries around the world, playing on sympathies.

It's a US federal agency buddy. No reason to fear a foreign national disaster recovery agency while there's an economy wrecking murder cold ripping across the world.

We are in the situation now where its not just those in high risk catergories are dependant on the following, its those that have lost their jobs and are dependant on their sacrifice being worth it

And they are dependant on governments knowing what they are doing, dependant on experts actually being experts, and probably most importantly, dependant on bored teens not sneaking off to their own little secret parties and spreading the disease, alcohol that bottle shops just give to them now because 80% of their income was just cut off now that the bar and restaurant is closed, because some genuis like ScoMo didnt realise thats what would actually happen

 

I do not like the UN or any org associated with them. WHO included. They have destroyed Canada’s healthcare as well, working with socialist governments here, selling the country off, piece by piece. They are simply an org that is looking to dictate to countries and change laws, control people and governments. You want to pay taxation without representation? Support the UN.

 

I hope they actually hold to that and don't pass the plan to give money to everyone and just give more to the people who lost their jobs.

I guess we just disagree on most governments verdict that temporary social isolation for the majority is worth it. I go along with them there and you don't.
But if we apply the numbers on the amount of hospital beds where infected people can properly be treated (+ how many care it takes), and how many atm get infected and get such serious complaints that they have to get treated there, the decision makes sense. And it was a tough one, because no government likes to burden their economy to this extent on a national level.

 

What about the homeless? All of a sudden you have no good samaritans on the streets giving them spare change. You couldnt feed and house them properly before this

This can go so south, soooo quickly

 

The homeless need to work out why they were kicked out of proper accomodation first.
Some families are ignorant of the fact that their kids might have something wrong with them before turfing them out on the streets.

There are some parents out there who are real narcissists that need to pull their heads in who will actually kick their kids out and make them homeless because of their own selfishness.

 

Rona Zombies: those members of the public that have been instilled with fear and panic over the Rona.

 

You keep going on about that, the number of icu places at one time, for THIS virus

There is potential for much worse to happen thats not directly related to THIS virus

Europe and US, how many extra homeless are going to die that never catch the virus. How many extra suicides were there in Hubei in the last two months. If we get to the stage of rioting and looting, how many extra homicides and sexual assaults?
