Made in a lab for what purpose exactly ? I find hard to believe that biological weapons are being actively developed, they are excessively indiscriminate and can easily backfire or be turned against those who used them first. Even the fucking nazis didn't dare to use chemical weapons, they were evil but not stupid. Using weapons of mass destruction makes sense only if one has the exclusive monopoly over them: the USA dropped the A-bomb over Japan because no one else had it, but when USSR and China made their own versions, further use became inadvisable for everyone. With infectious agents this reasoning is even more true, all the victim has to do to retaliate is just sending back to the attacker a taste of his own medicine.

Moreover, COVID-19 seems (to me at least) unfit for use as a military weapon for several different reasons:
    • not very lethal if compared with serious bioweapons like anthrax
    • hard to get rid of, thus risky to put into use
    • apparently no cure or vaccine available, if it backfires there's no defense
    • mostly effective against the elderly and the sick, soldiers are for the vast majority healthy young people and in war you want to eliminate troops first, not those who are rather a burden than a resource.
COVID-19 a biological weapon ? it's not impossible but sounds a bit far fetched if You ask me. The only ones who could seriously consider the use of it could be suicidal terrorist cultists attempting to wreak havoc on mankind at large disregarding their own safety altogether to bring on the apocalypse and the end of times. A tool of pure terror devised to disrupt society and torpedo the global economy for good.

The situation is already horrible, my opinion is that there's no need to conjure darker explanations.

Re-read what I said... Escaped from a lab.

Made could probably work as well but not necessarily as a bioweapon.

There is ample evidence, some of which has already been referenced in this thread that coronaviruses are worked on in labs.

Damn 112 new cases today here in Massachusetts bringing the number to over 500.

This testing seems to give with one hand and takes away with another.

    Bruh..

The researchers created a chimaeric virus, made up of a surface protein of SHC014 and the backbone of a SARS virus that had been adapted to grow in mice and to mimic human disease. The chimaera infected human airway cells — proving that the surface protein of SHC014 has the necessary structure to bind to a key receptor on the cells and to infect them. It also caused disease in mice, but did not kill them.

Although almost all coronaviruses isolated from bats have not been able to bind to the key human receptor, SHC014 is not the first that can do so. In 2013, researchers reported this ability for the first time in a different coronavirus isolated from the same bat population.

First confirmed case in my home town. Watch it escalate now, we're a dirty lot down here. The Deliverence has nothing on us.

Which is the only major country not affected by this?

2 years ago Russian scientists discover a naturally mutated virus in the bat population. Takes them 18 months to develop a vaccine, November 2019 undercover Russian operatives sell an infected mammal to a market stall owner in a seafood Market in Wuhan

    22nd of March 2020. Russia 306 "cases" 1 death

Sorry, I know this isn't something that we should make light up of but I found one of the comments pretty funny:

OMG, it's disfigured his entire face! This disease is even worse than I imagined!

This is what Joe Rogan was talking about in the video, what you are about to take a wrecking ball to your country for:

TABLE. Hospitalization, intensive care unit (ICU) admission, and case–
fatality percentages for reported COVID–19 cases, by age group —
    United States, February 12–March 16, 2020

Age group (no. of cases),Hosp, ICU,Case-fatality

    0–19........... (123) 1.6–2.5 0 0
    20–44 (705) 14.3–20.8 2.0–4.2 0.1–0.2
    45–54 (429) 21.2–28.3 5.4–10.4 0.5–0.8
    55–64 (429) 20.5–30.1 4.7–11.2 1.4–2.6
    65–74 (409) 28.6–43.5 8.1–18.8 2.7–4.9
    75–84 (210) 30.5–58.7 10.5–31.0 4.3–10.5
    ≥85 (144) 31.3–70.3 6.3–29.0 10.4–27.3
    Total (2,449) 20.7–31.4 4.9–11.5 1.8–3.4

    * Lower bound of range = number of persons hospitalized, admitted to ICU, or
who died among total in age group; upper bound of range = number of
persons hospitalized, admitted to ICU, or who died among total in age group
with known hospitalization status, ICU admission status, or death
