Cartoon capitalism: A fat man in a fancy suit puffing a cigar and hoarding wealth, while workers sweat and toil. Real capitalism: An entrepreneur working insane hours, risking her own money to provide goods and services others want and need, while investing profits back into her business
Considering his bankrupted golf resort in Puerto Rico, I'd say you're sadly mistaken on this point. What's salient is that in your effort to score a low IQ jab against Trump, basically made up shit, you don't address the ways Trump totally fucked Puerto Rico. And you don't address why he did it. It's an incredibly damning story that Trump has managed to avoid. I'm beginning to understand why.
Time is money, and you spend a hell of a lot of it waiting for universal healthcare Just because you walk in to a universal health clinic without paying at the time and place, that is only an illusion that the person isn’t paying a penny. An illusion believed by the economically gullible
Sorry for the delay answering, it is difficult to calculate, but I explained above. Again, sorry for the delay. So much going on in this thread.
Check out Omnedons post on the previous page. Ecuadorians are smarter than US citizens? Looks that way.
i have no idea who "these socialists" are and I'm not that interested in addresses your imaginary boogeyman. But as far as myself...unless you can find one example where I've ever advocated for total government control of the means of production, and somehow magically erase the countless times I've spelled out my views regarding a mixed market economy in plain English, we're all just going to have to assume you are 100% completely full of shit in that regard. Or cant understand plan English.
Because they do the jobs Americans won't do. And for a lot less money. Which means America is the home of underground sweat shops. Which will be increasing domestic production as China becomes a memory in the cheap crap game.
In the real world there is nothing that capitalists dislike more than competition. They put in a fast food franchise across from a local diner just to drive them out of business, they cut prices below market just to bankrupt their competition. The Sherman Antitrust legislation has been gutted by waves of Republican administrations. There is nothing in economic theory that says an economy at the mercy of a few mega corporations....big oil, big banks, big pharmaceutical, big nursing homes, corporate agriculture is more efficient or even as efficient as a mixed market-government economy with regulations to insure predatory capitalism doesn’t run amok.
if you move there or opt to. Make sure the healthcare and that there is an agreement between the USA and equador regarding pension and other things. You can be cut off. Also, the money on pension goes a long way there. Cost of living is cheaper, so yes you can live better, but to locals you are the top 1 percent. I have a friend in India. He travels on the train long distance ... for 18 hours. He gets a seat that has 4 beds in the section. This costs 2200 rupies, no AC. This is $46.20 canadian. This is middle class. For the rich, only one bed in an area only for you is 65 dollars canadian. It is relative to income and cost of living. Moving call Centers and things overseas, while it gives paying work for another place, not neccessarily well paying, it takes jobs away from here and has, while the rich get richer and those in the middle are out of work or working class out of work. Allows the corporation to keep. Hospitals here do it as well for medical transcripts as well. The government, socialists approvd, Your medical history is transcibed overseas. Your banking info is overseas too when you do auto payments. Billing departments overseas for so many socialists companies, or so called supporters of socialism.
Well, I won't be moving--if I was younger I might. But it would be Tahiti or some such---me likee WARM. But thanks for answering---Joel
Corporate monopolies exist only because of weaponized regulations and politicians playing favorites with certain industries. Let’s say you invented the widget in a free market economy, and started a successful widget monopoly. Then I came along and made a similar widget as competition. Unless you had a patent, or crony politicians shilling for your best interest there’s noting you could do to stop me. You could however, buy out my widget factory. But then I, or someone else, could just start another one. And you can keep buying out all your competitors to keep a monopoly, but eventually you’ll go bankrupt. The United States is a mixed market corporatist economy. Where politicians and corporate tycoons make regulations to make competition a lot harder for smaller entrepreneurs to rise up.
