I see the knuckle dragger has misread and misinterpreted the news yet again. The German Health Ministry have confirmed the initial report.

Contacted by Reuters, a spokeswoman for the German Health Ministry said: "We confirm the report in the Welt am Sonntag."

Confirming the report, isnt confirming an imaginary source

Germany tries to halt U.S. interest in firm working on coronavirus vaccine

Takeover would have to go through the German government anyway

"A German Economy Ministry spokeswoman said Berlin “has a great interest” in producing vaccines in Germany and Europe.

She cited Germany’s foreign trade law, under which Berlin can examine takeover bids from non-EU, so-called third countries “if national or European security interests are at stake”.

I just find it really amusing that Trump has gone from his arrogant, "This corona virus will magically disappear", - "nothing to worry about" stance to - 'We need to take this very seriously and do what's necessary to contain the spread …….."
He should have been listening to Dr. Fauci and other REAL EXPERTS from the beginning. And now his defenders are claiming he's being strongly proactive!! I guess they don't realize that most people ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND what "proactive" means. Trump has been ANYTHING BUT smart and proactive about the corona virus. What's done is done …… and can't be changed or glossed over.

    From Yahoo News:

"Pentagon has tested fewer than 500 for the coronavirus

The Pentagon likes to call itself the nation’s largest employer, with 1.4 active men and women in uniform, roughly 1.1 million reservists and more than 700,000 civilian employees.

But of all those employees, the Department of Defense has tested only 495 for the coronavirus, Brig. Gen. Paul Friedrichs, staff surgeon of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Pentagon, said in a Monday morning press briefing, and little detail was available about where those tests had taken place.

“We don’t have a breakdown of how many servicemembers vs family members vs DoD civilians, etc, nor do we have locational info for this,” s, Lt. Col. Christian Mitchell, a Pentagon spokesperson, told Yahoo News Monday in an email."

Trump's approach of trying to grapple with the coronavirus as a media problem was futile.

“There’s No Boogeyman He Can Attack”: Angry at Kushner, Trump Awakens to the COVID-19 Danger
For weeks, Trump and his son-in-law saw the novel coronavirus mostly as a media and political problem. But the spiraling cases, plunging markets, and a Mar-a-Lago cluster finally opened eyes.

“There’s No Boogeyman He Can Attack”: Angry at Kushner, Trump Awakens to the COVID-19 Danger

    excerpt:

"Trump’s concern for the NFL’s well-being was a stark reversal given that he spent the first two years of his presidency attacking the league and its kneeling players. It reflected Trump’s magical thinking that he could manage the coronavirus pandemic by convincing people life would remain normal and sports would be played. (Last week, Trump also spoke with Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White and advised him not to cancel UFC events.) “Trump thinks this is a media problem,” a Republican close to the White House told me. Treating COVID-19 as a public-relations crisis put Trump at odds with the medical community, including the White House’s chief coronavirus adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci. During an interview on Meet the Press this weekend, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases urged the United States to move toward a national lockdown similar to the actions taken by Italy and Spain. “I think we should really be overly aggressive and get criticized for overreacting,” Fauci said."

Even Trump's 'Minister of Everything' Jared Kushner couldn't put Humpty together again.

“There’s No Boogeyman He Can Attack”: Angry at Kushner, Trump Awakens to the COVID-19 Danger

    excerpt:

"With the markets in free fall despite emergency action by the Fed over the weekend, Trump is waking up to the reality that’s been clear to everyone: Coronavirus poses a once-in-a-hundred-years threat to the country. “In the last 48 hours he has understood the magnitude of what’s going on,” a former West Wing official told me. As Trump processes the stakes facing the country—and his presidency—he’s also lashing out at advisers, whom he blames for the White House’s inept and flat-footed response. Sources say a principal target of his anger is Jared Kushner. “I have never heard so many people inside the White House openly discuss how pissed Trump is at Jared,” the former West Wing official said."

Poll: Americans Don't Trust What They're Hearing From Trump On Coronavirus

    excerpt:

"Just 46% of Americans now say the federal government is doing enough to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, down from 61% in February.

Just 37% of Americans now say they had a good amount or a great deal of trust in what they're hearing from the president, while 60% say they had not very much or no trust at all in what he's saying."

Mar 6: “I like this stuff. I really get it. People are surprised that I understand it ... Every one of these doctors said, ‘How do you know so much about this?’ Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president.”

The people around Trump keep telling him he's great and a genius to avoid upsetting him.

These enablers fuel his narcissim like a raging forest fire.

It's a spiraling, reinforcement cycle and part of why he became afflicted with malignant narcissism.

I gotta wonder what would happen if someone really, really, upset this guy... Like totally red faced rage, upset.

    What would he do?

Besides. "you're fired" or "I'm gonna sue you"... Say it was somebody that can't be fired, and a lawsuit wouldn't touch.

    What would he do?

Trump is offering to make potentially all Americans recipients of government direct cash payments, just like the farmers.

'The Send-People-Money Bids Are Ramping Up': As Trump Signals Direct Cash Payments, Progressives Say Check Size and Who Qualifies Matters
"Good," said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. "Now we must suspend student loan payments."

'The Send-People-Money Bids Are Ramping Up': As Trump Signals Direct Cash Payments, Progressives Say Check Size and Who Qualifies Matters

    excerpts:

"Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Tuesday that he and President Donald Trump supported sending $1,000 checks straight to the American people as tens of millions face furloughs, layoffs, and financial uncertainty as the coronavirus outbreak spreads—a major shift of the Overton Window regarding direct cash assistance for Americans amid the pandemic.

"We are looking at sending checks to Americans immediately," Mnuchin told the press. "Americans need to get cash now and the president wants to get cash now, and I mean now—in the next two weeks."

Mnuchin reportedly said the administration "likes the idea of $1,000" for the checks, but declined to give an exact number in a press briefing or to say if the proposal would be free of restrictions that could leave out people who receive other government benefits. He also suggested the program could be means-tested, telling reporters, "We don't need to send people who make a million dollars a year checks.""

""If the cash is genuinely unrestricted, it would be a historic move. While Americans received checks as part of the response to recessions in 2001 and 2008, those were sent out as rebates or refunds to taxpayers," wrote Dylan Matthews at Vox.com. "Never before have all Americans, regardless of income, and including the poorest citizens who do not earn enough money to have positive income tax burdens, gotten checks."":

If the alternative in November is going to be Biden, what does any of that matter now, in terms of Trump's re-electability that is, not the impact of the virus

You don't think Americans are going to think, hmmmm ok, what if it had been Biden at this time? Would he be able to remember the viruses name. Biden will be a puppet president

Trump is getting scared. He has now officially adopted socialism and is offering every American a $1000 check to get the economy to perc up. Australians, Germans, and Canadians don't get any of it! LOL!
