Yang's idea lives on but it would be nice if he got the credit for it

The virus came from China, not Mexico.
Mexico was one of the least affected countries with the Coronavirus.
Nice try, but keep on spinning.

Remember the stories of life in the UK during World War 2. Bomb shelters, kids evacuated to the countryside so the parents could work / defend. This is a major historical event. Those that take action now have the best chance. Those who fail to are taking a massive risk. History will show.

With Donny T in charge? Probably better to get ready to eat your cat.

I know. We have need for it now, and this administration does the austerity thing... It's kind of depressing. It's frightening in this situation.

I will be fine. It's the others that I'm worried about.

I’m pretty confident that my family will be fine. More worried about our parents. But the more people out and about transmitting and visiting others, the greater chance those in the higher risk categories have of being affected.

Oh, for sure! We should be so lucky... :tonguewink:

He would be writing checks. But there would be taxes, or some other thing. Who knows how they would pay for it. Which is fine. Maybe people would see that taxes for social welfare isn't a bad premise. Especially not in this case. :flushed::frowning:

    They can though.
Institute a UBI (at least during the pandemic), extend medicaid to all who are currently uninsured, and..this last one I admittedly dont know if the government has the power to do it...but if they do, then put a national moratorium on evictions and foreclosures.

It's not difficult to think of what to do, it's just a matter of doing it

I'll be fine, but that's not how you handle disasters at a macro level. You handle them by marshalling all the resources of the state.

We are making our first community service run in the next few hours. I have 2 workers with me with security clearances and we are picking up a van load of medical supplies and medicine and take it from the pharmacy loading dock to the aged care home. :)

I find this to be a noble task. Work is quiet, but people need help in our small community. There aren't any private courier services in operation, but we got the van, we got good folks, we got the power!

    ETA: 2hrs 10mins.

Some hf members could categorically be registered as a Coronavirus.

I just don't want to spend $348.00 for four plastic bottles of Purell to hand sanitize the threads.
