So the US can preserve its status as having the most ridiculous election process in the free world.

 

It's a little bizarre...

 

It should all happen the same day, no primaries just every eligible candidate on the same ballot, "jungle primary" style. Instant runoff rules apply. No fuss no muss.

It's really an odd form of voter suppression in a way. Certain states are weighted more because they're first and people in the last states to vote may not even have a chance to cast their vote ...like in this situation, Sanders isnt really viable anymore and if he drops out now there's still quite a few states that dont even get a chance to cast their vote.

And I get there's not really a point in voting if only one candidate is viable, but it isnt really fair that early states get to decide that and have so much influence over the election.

 

Not to mention the influence it has on successive primaries

You could see that momentum happen

If they were all held on the same day, everyone goes in Blind,no way would Biden have gotten some of the percentages he did

Biden would have to choose an African American running mate now wouldn't he?

Well, I'm sure that you as a white Australian know much better what lurks in the hearts of African-Americans. Obama was "half white" and they seemed to like him. And she is a woman--so there's that. Besides, she's experienced, smart and competent.

 

He's insisting on racial purity--someone like Stacey Abrams, maybe? She's not married to a white man or anybody else, which could be even more of a political disadvantage. Then there's Michelle Obama--but her husband is half white.
