Go minimalist or hope for ideal technology . Greta , as your leader , will give you the Tribulation (pathos) .
So, to translate what you're saying into direct language, you've already decided what you want to believe for whatever reasons, and you're not going to lend credence to any source that conflicts your prejudice. That being the case, your opinion is invalid (despite your right to hold it). That's using the same precepts as religion - believe on faith. Add that to the fact that you believe that those videos are "on this site" and it just emphasises how much you need to learn. You're like, I don't need to be informed to promulgate an opinion as if it were fact. Most people would find that embarrassing. ----->
What I'm saying is not convoluted or misguided in any way. I've provided sources. I've used graphs. I've made it anything but difficult for even the most opposed person to see that science is proving that global warming is fucking up our planet. What you do with that information is totally up to you, but I suggest you at the very least begin to consider a) that the economy is not the end all of the climate issue (you never said it was, but I feel it bears saying...) and b) that you might, just maybe, be the one who has a prejudice and is unwilling to assess the information. and of course c) that you're the one presenting information from dodgy alternate news sources, not me. And my data came from NASA!
You've been duped. But luckily at the moment we still have enough smart open minded people to investigate and expose the deceivers. Some of these players have been caught with their pants down. But you're too complacent/lazy/apathetic to improve your position and/or have an ulterior motive to promulgate fallacies. Get your shit together then we'll talk. 11 years... Doh. Al Gore deja vu.
no... I haven't been duped. And NASA isn't in the business of misrepresenting the facts. Or making dubious claims that dozens of the most prestigious scientific agencies in our society agree on one thing; climate change is destroying our planet! The only sources you've cited have been... false.
This post seems to suggest that the science used to establish that climate change is wreaking havoc on our world is a hoax. It isn't. What I've shown is that climate change is real. And that about 20 very famous reputable American & international science groups (I don't know... are they "agencies"?) are saying approximately the same thing: IF WE DON'T CHANGE WE FACE OUR DEMISE
American Association for the Advancement of Science "Based on well-established evidence, about 97% of climate scientists have concluded that human-caused climate change is happening." (2014)3 American Chemical Society "The Earth’s climate is changing in response to increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs) and particulate matter in the atmosphere, largely as the result of human activities." (2016-2019)4 American Geophysical Union "Based on extensive scientific evidence, it is extremely likely that human activities, especially emissions of greenhouse gases, are the dominant cause of the observed warming since the mid-20th century. There is no alterative explanation supported by convincing evidence." (2019)5 American Medical Association "Our AMA ... supports the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s fourth assessment report and concurs with the scientific consensus that the Earth is undergoing adverse global climate change and that anthropogenic contributions are significant." (2019)6 American Meteorological Society "Research has found a human influence on the climate of the past several decades ... The IPCC (2013), USGCRP (2017), and USGCRP (2018) indicate that it is extremely likely that human influence has been the dominant cause of the observed warming since the mid-twentieth century." (2019)7 American Physical Society "Earth's changing climate is a critical issue and poses the risk of significant environmental, social and economic disruptions around the globe. While natural sources of climate variability are significant, multiple lines of evidence indicate that human influences have had an increasingly dominant effect on global climate warming observed since the mid-twentieth century." (2015)8 The Geological Society of America "The Geological Society of America (GSA) concurs with assessments by the National Academies of Science (2005), the National Research Council (2011), the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, 2013) and the U.S. Global Change Research Program (Melillo et al., 2014) that global climate has warmed in response to increasing concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases ... Human activities (mainly greenhouse-gas emissions) are the dominant cause of the rapid warming since the middle 1900s (IPCC, 2013)." (2015)9 U.S. National Academy of Sciences "Scientists have known for some time, from multiple lines of evidence, that humans are changing Earth’s climate, primarily through greenhouse gas emissions."11 U.S. Global Change Research Program "Earth’s climate is now changing faster than at any point in the history of modern civilization, primarily as a result of human activities." (2018, 13 U.S. government departments and agencies)12 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change “Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and since the 1950s, many of the observed changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia. The atmosphere and ocean have warmed, the amounts of snow and ice have diminished, and sea level has risen.”13 “Human influence on the climate system is clear, and recent anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases are the highest in history. Recent climate changes have had widespread impacts on human and natural systems.”14 OTHER RESOURCES List of Worldwide Scientific Organizations The following page lists the nearly 200 worldwide scientific organizations that hold the position that climate change has been caused by human action. The height of misinformation. Did you even see what the IPCC was up to? Of course not, you're acting like the ostrich. You're gonna say because the planet is warming we have to cut population and revert to subsistence living? Bollocks! You've been duped! Naomi Seibt - It's okay to listen because she's a school kid. And in a different country. Learn something, man!
Good intuition, from the about page of the CDN sources Tundra has posted: Questions about funding often imply, or state outright, that we take money from the fossil fuel industry and that doing so somehow compromises our integrity. Because we do not believe fossil fuels are having a disastrous effect on climate we would feel no unease at all in receiving donations from people in the energy sector.
At times this thread has gone so far off topic like its in another galaxy. Maybe this young lady is really really concerned about the future of mankind. However unfortunately she has very little going for her. She's like too young by far to make an impression on the folk who count. On top of that she lacks charisma, she's rather plain as far as look go. She's a kid born in Stockholm Sweden. Now if she had ABBA backing her she might get somewhere. On her own she hasn't a snowball's hope in hell.
