American Association for the Advancement of Science "Based on well-established evidence, about 97% of climate scientists have concluded that human-caused climate change is happening." (2014)3 American Chemical Society "The Earth’s climate is changing in response to increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs) and particulate matter in the atmosphere, largely as the result of human activities." (2016-2019)4 American Geophysical Union "Based on extensive scientific evidence, it is extremely likely that human activities, especially emissions of greenhouse gases, are the dominant cause of the observed warming since the mid-20th century. There is no alterative explanation supported by convincing evidence." (2019)5 American Medical Association "Our AMA ... supports the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s fourth assessment report and concurs with the scientific consensus that the Earth is undergoing adverse global climate change and that anthropogenic contributions are significant." (2019)6 American Meteorological Society "Research has found a human influence on the climate of the past several decades ... The IPCC (2013), USGCRP (2017), and USGCRP (2018) indicate that it is extremely likely that human influence has been the dominant cause of the observed warming since the mid-twentieth century." (2019)7
American Physical Society "Earth's changing climate is a critical issue and poses the risk of significant environmental, social and economic disruptions around the globe. While natural sources of climate variability are significant, multiple lines of evidence indicate that human influences have had an increasingly dominant effect on global climate warming observed since the mid-twentieth century." (2015)8 The Geological Society of America "The Geological Society of America (GSA) concurs with assessments by the National Academies of Science (2005), the National Research Council (2011), the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, 2013) and the U.S. Global Change Research Program (Melillo et al., 2014) that global climate has warmed in response to increasing concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases ... Human activities (mainly greenhouse-gas emissions) are the dominant cause of the rapid warming since the middle 1900s (IPCC, 2013)." (2015)9 U.S. National Academy of Sciences "Scientists have known for some time, from multiple lines of evidence, that humans are changing Earth’s climate, primarily through greenhouse gas emissions."11 U.S. Global Change Research Program "Earth’s climate is now changing faster than at any point in the history of modern civilization, primarily as a result of human activities." (2018, 13 U.S. government departments and agencies)12 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change “Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and since the 1950s, many of the observed changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia. The atmosphere and ocean have warmed, the amounts of snow and ice have diminished, and sea level has risen.”13 “Human influence on the climate system is clear, and recent anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases are the highest in history. Recent climate changes have had widespread impacts on human and natural systems.”14 OTHER RESOURCES List of Worldwide Scientific Organizations The following page lists the nearly 200 worldwide scientific organizations that hold the position that climate change has been caused by human action. What credible scientist would claim 60 feet of sea level rise? No credible scientist would claim otherwise. The Earth's atmosphere has been warmer and colder than it is now. Sea levels have been 60 feet higher than they aree now, when the Earth was not much warmer than it is now. Water on Earth doesn't evaporate into outer space - it's solid or fluid, depending on air temperature. What is now solid in the form of ice will soon be fluid, and most of that fluid will be in liquid form, not gas. How do we know? Ask any geologist or hydrologist. The physical evidence points only in one direction. There is no controversy among those who care to know. Willful blindness is not science. What is now tundra may be a good place to farm 70 years from now, but that condition will be short lived.
If it's supposed to be a hoax, why is the temperature hot enough for the ice caps to melt? I mean why then are the glaciers melting and the sea level in flux?
The oceans have absorbed much of this increased heat, with the top 700 meters (about 2,300 feet) of ocean showing warming of more than 0.4 degrees Fahrenheit since 1969.6 Ocean waters melting the undersides of Antarctic ice shelves are responsible for most of the continent's ice shelf mass loss, a new study by NASA and university researchers has found. Evidence | Facts – Climate Change: Vital Signs of the Planet Global sea level rose about 8 inches in the last century. The rate in the last two decades, however, is nearly double that of the last century and is accelerating slightly every year.10 Both the extent and thickness of Arctic sea ice has declined rapidly over the last several decades.11 Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, the acidity of surface ocean waters has increased by about 30 percent.13,14 This increase is the result of humans emitting more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and hence more being absorbed into the oceans. The amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by the upper layer of the oceans is increasing by about 2 billion tons per year.15,16 THis is from NASA!!! Come in Trudging... mission control.. come in.
Water vapor. The most abundant greenhouse gas, but importantly, it acts as a feedback to the climate. Water vapor increases as the Earth's atmosphere warms, but so does the possibility of clouds and precipitation, making these some of the most important feedback mechanisms to the greenhouse effect. Carbon dioxide (CO2). A minor but very important component of the atmosphere, carbon dioxide is released through natural processes such as respiration and volcano eruptions and through human activities such as deforestation, land use changes, and burning fossil fuels. Humans have increased atmospheric CO2 concentration by more than a third since the Industrial Revolution began. This is the most important long-lived "forcing" of climate change. Methane. A hydrocarbon gas produced both through natural sources and human activities, including the decomposition of wastes in landfills, agriculture, and especially rice cultivation, as well as ruminant digestion and manure management associated with domestic livestock. On a molecule-for-molecule basis, methane is a far more active greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, but also one which is much less abundant in the atmosphere. Nitrous oxide. A powerful greenhouse gas produced by soil cultivation practices, especially the use of commercial and organic fertilizers, fossil fuel combustion, nitric acid production, and biomass burning. Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). Synthetic compounds entirely of industrial origin used in a number of applications, but now largely regulated in production and release to the atmosphere by international agreement for their ability to contribute to destruction of the ozone layer. They are also greenhouse gases.
I don't do videos on this site because they're often a little .. .eh, I don't know, motivated by less than ethical, I would say dubious motives. If it were from a non-partisan objective news cast or something; and I do exclude Fox from that designation, that would be one thing... Often, I see material from like a dailystormer or something like that. I don't trust the source and choose not to devote any of my time to it. That doesn't mean I don't want to talk. I posted a bunch of stuff too... I just don't think it's a hoax. & it doesn't sound like they're coming from a bad place at all if they want to save the planet. It's not like I'm saying "climate change is a hoax" and trying to show a video to explain "how" it's a hoax. I don't think the numbers are fraudulent. But if you want to explain "why" they are, I will read what you say.
She's urged world leaders multiple times to listen to climate scientists and has cited the IPCC climate report on multiple occasions
Give it up folks. What people DON'T WANT to know---they will never know. Alternative facts are stubborn little buggers.
