Philo Farnsworth invented the TV. Don’t know who invented cut & paste though. I see your point nonetheless. Famous inventors who go down in history like Edison and Graham-Bell, were corporate executives with political power as well. That’s why they get placed in history books.

  4. That's similar to what some of us in Australia use which is called Coloxal it does the exact same thing.

  5. Except that "Coloxal" looks like a Central American word, not Russian.

  6. Yep. But it's also does the same thing as what you posted up before.
    It's the same product.

It’s really not all that subtle. It’s deliberate misrepresentation.

  8. And yet, not the point. At all.

This thread doesn't need a stool softener. Some IMODIUM maybe.

  10. Many years ago I worked at an axle factory in Indiana. It was an odd mix of union and non-union sub shops. I was non-union, so I worked 7 days a week and only got 20 minutes for lunch. AND, it was night shift. But I did make fuckloads of money, so there's that.

Anyway, one of the perks was free soda and free access to the first aid vending machine (of all things). It had super-generic packages labeled "Pain Off", "Back Pain Off", "Gas Off", Heartburn Off and a couple of others. Clearly designed for semi-literate union goons (I know, I met all of them).

But this was before Imodium was a thing. Otherwise, there would have been a package of "Runs Off"!

  13. The Baird means for creating television was a bizarre innovation. Since it used rotating optics, there was a continuous stream of image being fed to the optical signal converter, a single electronic conversion point. So the image was superb on a scale fully electronic television didn't see until the 21st century. And even now modern television electronics are so varied that no 2 seem to look alike within the same manufacturer's line. It's weird.

The problem with mechanical television was size. The camera side was the size of a Volkswagen and the receiver was the size of a standing wardrobe. The mechanical precision to reduce the size was not advancing as fast as electronics. Then the rush to market kicked in and electronic television, which had no moving parts (no gear noise etc), won the race. However, I think we would have had color TV much sooner because the mechanical method could scan the same line in 3 colors easily. The electronic system required 3 times the video circuitry and 3 electronic guns in the vidicon and video tubes.

While not as much impact as the AC/DC war between Edison and Westinghouse, television might have been better much sooner if there had been collaboration instead of pure competition. Sort of like Xerox and Apple.

In her witchy style , Greta has cussed the E.U. for its latest Co2 emissions remedy . They propose
zero net carbon by 2050 via carbon-capture technologies .

Greta needs to go home , milk goats , and make her cooking fire of little sticks .

When you're up to your knees in water and your hair is on fire---you may reconsider what science is telling us. But probably not.
