Actually I posted before I had all the facts. I guess the government cant enforce this but PM Abe has requested all schools close down till graduation and most (if not all) are expected to comply

This is typically a spring break time for schools so it's not that bold of a move as there aren't many classes in March.

EDIT: Now maybe its until April

All schools in Japan told to close until April over virus outbreak | The Japan Times

I tend to wash my hands frequently anyway. But with this bug going around I'm worried despite that. I catch myself touching my face or blowing my nose in the shower (as if it's cleaner there...). there is thankfully hand sanitizer around the house and at the gym (which is going to be a problem; I'll have to stop going if there's any chance of getting sick there).

    yea

I saw a broadcast earlier... they said he's so worried about the stock market reaction that he's trying to downplay/under-respond to this crisis. How bad is it I wonder...

Anything that threatens his reelection is bad to Trump, It's the economy he's worried about, not people's health.

A scientist in Australia said almost everybody will catch this virus eventually. But will be no more serious than a bad cold or mild flu.

  9. Imagine if you were a sick child and Trump was your only parent.

I think he's going to become less and less appealing as this virus spreads.

That's a very privileged thing to say. Pff, education, right. Who needs it.

(this one of those posts that reads seriously but really I'm just kind of rolling my eyes, I know you're being flippant : ) )

Meh, im guessing America will contain it properly and quickly, then everyone will be back to wondering, what actually did happen in China. It has little to do with your President. Your HHS does most of the grunt work

It should have spread far more in Australia, we got cases earlier, but it didnt

Aren't they now saying it could be up to 27 day incubation period?

    Uh oh

"A pet dog belonging to a coronavirus patient in Hong Kong has tested “weak positive” for COVID-19, the city’s government announced on Friday.

The positive test result, however, could be a result of contact with the owner’s bodily fluids on the dog’s mouth and nose, and does not necessarily mean the dog itself has contracted the disease.

A spokesman for Hong Kong’s Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department told local media it had received a referral from the Health Department on Wednesday to take care of a dog belonging to one of the city’s 93 infected patients."

Just had the Doc on the tv that was earlier saying everyone in the world will get it eventually. Longer incubation period helps people to build up immunity, it continues to mutate the longer, further away from the source

It will dilute basically. A lot of common colds and flus are similar to that virus family type

Just like Sars, it was just the first time a particular strain jumped from animals to human in a particular time and place that did most of the damage

The average flu in america kills 0.1% affected, the coronavirus has a mortality rate of 2%

Last year the flu in america killed 80,000 according to the CDC, imagine how staggering the number would be at 2%

As VG said though it will dilute and become less aggressive as time goes on. As mentioned by this particular scientist.

So far it's has shown no sign of dilution, and it could (although less likely) mutate and become even more virulent
