I wish he were. Instead, he is an adroit politician who keeps tight control of those in his majority and is one of the most powerful people in US politics.

    sure they can.
true, but he is still a fucking moron. He is more concerned with kissing trump's ass, and keeping his senate seat than he is for the welfare of his constituents.

So we come to find out that pompeo met with Russian FM Sergei Lavrov in Munich yesterday.
How do we know this? Russian journalists spilled the beans. pompeo would not let the american press anywhere near this.

Yeah, we will have to wait a couple weeks though to see if he gets fired or Trump shuts up about the DoJ at least

they didn't deny that he did what he did
they didn't deny it was wrong
but they said "he's our guy anyway"
so they sold their soul for a song.

Amy McGrath is running against him and has my vote. She's a 20 year Marine fighter pilot, pro-choice, supports measures to lower prescription drug costs, wants immigration reform...and isn't "Moscow" Mitch McConnell.

Not true genuine conservatives. Corruption permeated the Republican party sometime back around 1972 when Charles Colson and Jerry Falwell led the Klansmen to Richard Nixon who felt he was above the law, no different than Trump today. They are so similar that I recognize John Mitchel's behavior and style in William Barr.

Flynn has been using the rope-a-dope approach to avoid sentencing.

Justice Department reviewing handling of Michael Flynn case: Source

    excerpt:

"Flynn's attempt to backtrack from the plea deal marks the latest in a series of moves Flynn has made aimed at staving off a jail sentence. In December 2018, prison time appeared all but unavoidable for the retired three-star general -- U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan criticized Flynn for lying to the FBI while serving in the White House. Flynn's attorney at the time, Robert Kelner, immediately requested and received a sentencing delay. Flynn has used the ensuing year to change attorneys and re-tool his approach.

Flynn's sentencing has been delayed multiple times since, with no new sentencing date scheduled since Flynn moved to withdraw from his guilty plea."

Barr wants to be politically influenced by Trump but not perceived by the public to be politically influenced by Trump.

Barr can't perform his duties of shielding Trump's impeachable behaviors, revising the convictions of his associates, and facilitating revenge campaigns if Trump keeps making Barr's intentions known to the public.

Trump needs to concoct an unofficial acting attorney general who is more underhanded and effective than Giuliani and Barr combined and more encompassing than the acting attorney general of the DC office, Shea, whom Barr appointed after Jessie Liu was disposed. Such underhanded activities facilitate Barr's work on revising convictions of Trump's associates which could make potential Trump pardons more palatable to the public by portraying Trump's criminals as victims.

Barr is feeling the frustration of trying to keep these activities clandestine in the presence of Trump's bodacious big mouth that always ends up revealing them, like he did with his Ukraine phone call that justifiably precipitated his impeachment which Trump is now avenging with the aid of people like Barr.
