Yes, it was like that. Now not anymore due to the continuous unrest and weak government. Does it has potential? Many iraqis seem to think yes, if things would stabilize.
It would be an exceedingly cold day in hell before I would condescend to vote for the scumbag 'nasty party' !!! - No I voted for, and continue to support the Green Party, since our local MP is Caroline Lucas, someone I know personally, know her political stance on many issues, have her office email and do correspond with her quite regularly. Up till now, She has always, acknowledged and responded to my emails. Caroline Lucas | Standing up for what matters
I didn't have an opinion one way or the other. Like most Americans, I didn't even know his name until he was assassinated How so? What does this have to do with blindly following our leaders exactly? I'm confused
Case in point - "me and you are no different"" - as you said "I didn't even know his name until he was assassinated" - and yet you're commenting on this stuff, like me, and others. We're sheep. That is all we are? That is democracy. We do not have access to all intelligence reports.
No, your perception of what democracy exactly is is incorrect. It can be like that, in a worst case scenario but what you conclude here about democracy is not a given at all. It's btw also often put the US has a severely limited form of democracy. So even if it would totally count for american voters and/or democracy (which it doesn't. Yes there are many sheepish citizens where it comes to politics) it doesn't say shit about democracy by default (which generally flourishes with enough concerned and participating people)
They have known about the occupation for 30 years now. They keep asking the Americans to leave; but, the hog meat eaters won't leave.
Which is why we have states voting instead. It's part of the checks and balances that keep states from eating up other states via policy. And no, after watching so many draft dodgers in the white house, I do not think that most Americans actually care about military service when it comes to politics.
One nuance already: the right is not limited to republican politicians. Do you only criticize left leaning politicians on here? No, also expressed views of 'leftists'. Yet you do not only ignore posts with complete right wing nonsense, you 'like' them as well.
That's my conclusion as well. Though the US is far from alone in exploiting the middle east. What's amazing is getting both factions into actual, separate nations like this. It could go a long way toward reducing the conflicts, IF an agreement can be made that will hold. Too often agreements in the middle east are fragile and easily usurped by outside actors (not just the US etc).
Yea, it's weird we don't seem to have gotten much of that oil we were supposed to be stealing (under the guise of war).
Its kind of hypocritical to call someone racist or a crazy muslim hater because of a similar comment about iranians, and then say stuff like this yourself.
Do you doubt the US is for a large part there because of such interests? Edit: nevermind. You explained in that post i didn't see yet Definitely not. But that doesn't excuse all the retarded destabilizing they did there over the years.
Entertaining? Mitch McConnell is sitting on 400 + bills from the House, Mitch McConnell is blocking a fair impeachment trial in the Senate, the entire Republican party has transformed into the party of Trump lapdogs (but none more than my own Senator Lindsay Graham), Trump has just announced he wont allow John Bolton to testify at his own impeachment trial, Republican Pacs and interest groups have received millions of dollars from Russian entities since 2016, Trump is practicing brinkmanship...etc etc...and half the country is acting as if this is all normal. I wouldnt use the word entertained. Feels more like being held hostage This was pretty entertaining though, but just shows how batshit everything is right now : GOP Rep Tweeted a Fake Obama Photo. Now He's Mad at Everyone For Pointing It Out
Haha, yeah. Someone is turning a blind eye to the right. That much is clear. What i find entertaining are WritersPanics attempts to dismiss this :-D
Yea, I "like" a lot of shit around here. Regardless of your analysis, my political motivations are entirely my own. I have no interest in merging with either party. I have nothing in common with a bunch of wealthy, greedy, self-serving hypocrites. BUT, they are in charge, so I tune in and try to get close to the truth. I think I may be around 25% truth to date, the rest is bullshit. So there's a lot of filtering to be done.
I have not made any analysis or verdict on your political motivations. I'm merely pointing out an obvious truth regarding your criticism (and your bogus claim you don't cut either side some slack with that) you seem to dislike being pointed out.
Not so. Certainly not literally (which you even make clear yourself with that addition ). Maybe look up the definition of the word.
