What I was speaking to was the way a tragedy was hijacked to push the eradication of confederate symbols, a socio-political maneuver. And please don't tell me that confederate symbols are NOT used as a proxy for attacking people. That's been a tradition for decades. Although for most of those years it was a convenient way to deride southern white people specifically. And they made it all too easy.

I don't expect to see people flying antique flags, that's peculiar. Such a thing, like many of the statues, belong in a museum. Although anywhere they are exhibited can be designated in a similar manner which is why so many government properties and government-sponsored universities have antique statuary somewhere on the grounds. Some have weapons. Some have combat aircraft. Oddly, we don't have many artists, athletes or religious figures in statue form in the US.

Well the new budget for Atlanta comes out in July. I imagine that 5 million increase to the police budget will be less in the coming fiscal year. Perhaps that extra 5 million is already gone.

I am really boggled by this. We shall see if there is an increase in crime. Perhaps it will be used in the coming presidential election regarding crime rate in Atlanta and how things have gone crazy,

being that Atlanta has such a major airport. I would have thought a narcotics unit would be important

A year later the new mayor starts asking why there's no money. Then there was this ransomware thing that wiped out years of evidence, same as Charlotte NC.

The airport has a rigged concession lottery that the same people always win, some of them relatives of previous mayor Franklin.
