David Duke is a has-been with absolutely no friends in Washington, so any "endorsement" from him is no better than getting one from a cartoon character. But I'm curious to know if you think this somehow casts a shadow on Trump? I guess that's because Trump hasn't endorsed Duke and isn't likely to.

Also, it could be that Duke endorsed Trump because he's a sexist. I doubt it's about racism since Duke endorsed Obama as well. Not because he liked Obama, but because he felt it was exactly what America deserved for abandoning people like him. So really, what possible use would Trump have with an endorsement from a mental case like Duke?

I agree hotwater. Trump has made it OK to be a White Supremacist and his followers are feeling their oats these days. They sure like to hate Muslims. They say things like, "We should just turn that place into a glass parking lot" and "kill them all and let God sort them out" and "Kick their ass and take their gas." Having been a meth head in the 80s (after getting my dexedrine script pulled for being a freak), I can't imagine giving a flying shit about politics whilst using. And meth is the sort of thing you use for weeks at a time. I can't see them wasting good meth money on something like a MAGA hat or a Trump rally either.

Yea, I missed that. But I have been hearing the characterization, for decades, that anyone who doesn't vote democrat is a racist or a slave (the way I first heard it expressed in the 70s).

I think whomever came up with "Uncle Tom" as a pejorative should have finished the book. Most people who use that term have no idea who Cassie was or that Uncle Tom was a hero. Which blows my mind when I consider that the book was required reading when I was in school. All those decades of taking classic literature off of school reading lists has brought us to this kind of collective stupidity.
