I only lived thru part of Eisenhower's administrations, but I have read that he was good. Kennedy was constrained by the military industrial complex, whereas Johnson became a tool of the M/I complex.
In the last fifty years, Nixon may have been the best republican president, in retrospect.
Reagan, and both of the bush presidencies were disasters. Carter, while a good person, was mediocre as president. . Clinton, and Obama were ok presidents.

 

Thank you Mr. Rather. In modern times words have kind of lost their meaning. Mental illness, coup, witch hunt, they all at this point mean Democrats have facts and law on their side. But make no mistake we are seeing cult behavior here. It's not a simple disagreement of policy. They are helpless people who feel a sense of power though the leader. Some leaders claim to be Jesus others claim to build walls. Either way the individual not longer has to worry. You will not take that security from them no matter what.

This idea is basically expressed by the cult as well. What matters above all is here is where he is to save us. Also they admit they feel powerless over their own life. Something is taken from them and only he can give it back so "great again" whatever that is. Kind of like how only Jesus leads to heaven only this man can possibly do it. There is such a strong cross over with religion and this man. It's interesting if you bother to read what the Bible says about false prophets. Hint it does not say they are black with a scary name. It says they will put themselves before Christian values and will use the trust and name of Jesus for their own power.

I know personally I have lost some family. They have gone so far off the deep end they can't come back. I have an uncle who married an illegal Mexican women who now wears red hats and uses slurs for Mexicans. He can't see his grand kids now and he's fine with that. He flat out said they need to go to Europe since they don't respect him or America and he wants no part of un-American grand kids anyway. This man used to be different.

Trump supporters are in a cult, and Mitch McConnell is one of them, says Dan Rather

President Donald Trump’s followers are part of a “cult” — and that includes Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, longtime news anchor Dan Rather said Sunday.


Speaking on CNN’s “Reliable Sources with Brian Stelter” on Sunday morning, Rather, the former CBS News anchor, said Trump’s support is “all about him.”

“Increasingly President Trump’s support seems cultish. It’s all about him, it’s not about a policy.”

“These cults, cults generally don’t end well,” Rather said. “People will say it’s too much to say it’s a cult. I don’t think so. The further we go, it is always all about him. It’s not about a policy.”


When asked specifically if McConnell, the Kentucky Republican, was part of that cult, Rather said: “The short answer is yes.”


Speaking about the impeachment inquiry, and allegations that Trump tried to bribe a foreign government and intimidate witnesses, Rather said of Trump: “I’d say history is closing in on him, facts are closing in.”


Still, because of that cult-like following, “whether or not that’s enough to have a real trial in the Senate or not, I have my doubts,” he said.


Rather isn’t the only one saying Trump supporters are part of a cult. A report last week by Vanity Fair said outspoken anti-Trump Republican George Conway, whose wife is White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, “tells people she’s in a cult.”
