Interesting: President Donald Trump’s unscheduled weekend visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center raised suspicions on social media about his health, that Trump, Now 73, may have suffered from chest pains which prompted his visit to Walter Reed NMMC. White House officials’ insist the president was merely getting a head start on his annual physical.
Trump's options for winning a second term are narrowing Analysis by Ronald Brownstein Updated 6:01 AM ET, Tue November 19, 2019 Trump's options for winning a second term are narrowing - CNNPolitics excerpt: "Sharp declines for Republican candidates in white-collar suburban areas were a common feature this month of the Democratic takeover of both chambers of the Virginia state Legislature and the party's gubernatorial victories in Kentucky and Louisiana, two states that have leaned strongly toward the GOP. (The effect was less pronounced in ruby red Mississippi, one of the nation's most resolutely conservative states, where Republicans maintained control of the governorship this month.) "They are just losing large parts of their previous electorate and they don't quite know what to do about it," says veteran Democratic strategist James Carville, who is based in New Orleans. Tom Davis, a former Republican US representative from suburban Northern Virginia who chaired the National Republican Congressional Committee, notes that GOP candidates this fall generally performed well in suburban areas in races lower on the ballot, such as the other statewide offices in Kentucky and state legislative seats in Louisiana. But he said the party can no longer brush off the declines it suffered in the top-of-the-ticket races in those well-educated suburbs."
Trump didn't save the 5000 jobs in the automotive plant in the Youngstown area. 450 jobs will remain. The plant will be devoted to electric vehicles. Trump has shown a disdain for renewable energy technology, but renewable is the direction that the technology is heading. Like some in PIttsburgh did regarding the lack of revival of the steel industry, those in the Youngstown area can still praise Trump and blame the whole job situation on immigration and lack of building Trump's border wall fast enough. It's an unwillingness to grapple with the reality that the old coal and steel producing jobs aren't coming back to the way they were decades ago. GM sells its Lordstown Assembly plant to electric truck start-up Jamie L. LaReau, Detroit Free Press Published 4:04 p.m. ET Nov. 7, 2019 | Updated 7:53 p.m. ET Nov. 7, 2019 GM sells its Lordstown Assembly plant to electric truck start-up excerpt: "GM sold the 6.2 million-square-foot facility to an investment group called Lordstown Motors, which is backed by electric truck maker Workhorse Group. The amount of the sale is not being disclosed nor is a start-up date for production. Lordstown Motors said it will build the Endurance electric pickup using components licensed from Workhorse. The Endurance is designed for fleet sales, the company said, and is a lightweight, all-wheel drive vehicle with a low center of gravity. The Endurance is the latest among many electric pickups in the works. Tesla will debut its electric pickup dubbed "Cybertruck" on Nov. 21. Rivian is building an electric truck due near year-end. And GM has said it will invest $3 billion in Detroit-Hamtramck to build an electric pickup and other electric trucks, possibly reviving the Hummer brand there."
Now thats one you posted and I know you definitely do not know what it means. Why do you think a startup, a much smaller company would buy a plant from a company like GM. i.e make money where GM cant? And you think Trump or your government has somekind of control on that?
He did say only he could fix it … like he had control over economic activity here in America … not Australia.
So what did you think he was going to run General motors at the same time or something, disapointed this turned out not to be true?
Be interesting to see if our new no memes in the political threads policy applies to lefty friendly memes as well as right ones
and if Jim Jordan keeps being an ass, they will lose more. wtf is wrong with the people who elected this fool?
Hopefully, in 2020, we'll get this crime family out of the White House. America deserves better. ..much better..
He did claim to be a genius who could run General Motors, and also claimed he never had sex with Stormy Daniels and that McDougal Woman.
The fact that Trump and his senior people have handpicked many of the officials who are now testifying against him places Trump in a difficult position. It partly accounts for the friction that has developed between Trump and his staunch ally Pompeo, who selected Taylor. The Trump Presidency Is in Free Fall A series of crises has again brought the administration below its baseline of chaos—but this time, can the president recover? David A. Graham Staff writer at The Atlantic November 19, 2019 The Trump Presidency Is in Free Fall excerpt: "But three elements of this debacle ought to be particularly concerning for the Trump White House. The first is that Trump has alienated key constituencies. His pardons for war criminals are apparently intended to pander to a certain variety of jingoistic militarism, but they have upset many other members of the military community, in addition to Trump’s own appointees in the Defense Department. Yesterday, Trump also reversed course on a promised ban on flavored vapes—whatever the merits of the proposal, he angered his supporters in the vape community by floating the plan, only to abandon it, an unforced political error. Second, although the president famously values personal loyalty, a long line of his aides have marched to the Hill and offered testimony that is damning to Trump. The president and some of his allies have repeatedly insisted that the witnesses in the impeachment hearing are “never Trumpers” or part of a deep state, but for the most part they have been appointees or hires made by the president or his aides. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch was sent to Kyiv by Barack Obama, though the Trump administration initially asked her to extend her term before Trump abruptly sacked her. But Ambassador Bill Taylor was handpicked by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to replace Yovanovitch. Jennifer Williams was hired by the Trump administration. George Kent, though a career diplomat, was appointed deputy assistant secretary of state by Trump; Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, though a career military officer, was hired to work on the National Security Council under Trump. Third, one lesson of the Kentucky and Louisiana elections is that Trump cannot effectively protect his political allies. The thing that has insulated the president from the consequences of so many of his disastrous weeks is the sense among Republican officeholders that whatever qualms they may (or may not) hold about his leadership and decision making, they are politically better off staying close to him than breaking with him. Matt Bevin and Eddie Rispone adopted that intuition not just as a political tactic but as the central strategy of their campaigns. Trump played along, telling voters that the races were personal reflections on himself. Yet voters in deep-red states elected Democrats anyway."
Trump has an option of disposing of some of the people testifying against him without trying to outright fire them by returning them to their place of origin before they were assigned to work in specific departments in the executive branch. An example is Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman who is from the Pentagon.
